We went to Sharky's for a New Years Eve dinner after being impressed with the Bagan version of this chain. It was pretty disappointing actually. The food was Ok but overpriced for what you got and the service was very lacklustre. The restaurant was basically...empty which says something considering it was NYE and other places nearby were heaving.
The Rangoon Teahouse next door offers far better food and service.More
Such a disappointment on the food but the fact to see a RAT passing by was even more choking..
1. No ravioli available from menu
2. bruchetta, while taste was good the tapenade was too liquid
3. fondue too tick and tasteless
4. as none...of the ravioli were available, we opt for carbonara asparagus and bacon, what was delivered had nothing to do with a carbonara but look like noodle swimming in a creamy soup... tasteless
4. pizza was so oily...
On the good note the beef was very good quality.
I was so impress with sharky in Bagan that we decided to try it out in yangon but that was a serious mistake, maybe we should have selected the other one...
bamboo straw instead of plastic one would also be a good idea.More
Really disappointed. Sharky's used to be overpriced, but a nice location and was a reasonable occasional visit (12,000mmk for a chicken salad though!). Recently popped in for lunch only to find the most expensive salad in town had seen almost a 50% price increase. 17,000...mmk for a place that prides itself on locally produced goods. No thank you! more expensive than a visit to the strand hotel, where ingredients are far more fresh. Ended up eating at Kafe in Town next door where we had a lovely and large meal for a third of the price. Same excellent location, equally fresh and clean food. 1/3 of the price. Visit Kafe in Town instead!More
We ordered the all meat and buffalo chicken pizzas and they were very good!
The buffalo sauce has a kick (I’m not a fan of spicy foods but I could tolerate the heat on this) and the pizza sauce is a sweet sauce.
The pizzas...were thin crust cooked in a brick oven.
We also enjoyed the onion blossom with a homemade ranch/sour cream dip.
Owner was very nice as he spent several minutes with us discussing his business adventure.
I sure hope this place gets the attention it deserves.More
I went to Sharky’s because the menu looked delicious. Ordered a roast chicken sandwich and a burger to share with my husband. A microgreen salad came as an appetizer, it was ok, nothing special. The real treat came when the roast chicken sandwich was served....We each took one half of the sandwich and as soon as we were half through the first bite I saw something moving in my sandwich. I can’t say if the burger was good because I spit out my food and we left after seeing the sandwich crawling with bugs.More
Sharkey's has a good menu at reasonable prices (with no service charge - so make sure you tip). You can get a pizza meal for $4, or more substantial meals for $10.
Seems to be very popular for lunch, less so for evening meals (not...sure why)More
Good dry age steak. perfectly cooked. Good selection of wine pairing. We also tried the pork cheek salad and tiramisu. Both are good also. come here many times already and will come again when i want steak.
