The food was excellent. I would recommend the grilled butterfish, tea leaf salad, duck empanadas and of course their wide range of tea, cocktails, beers and other spirits. Give their famous briyani a try too. Though my family still preferred the more authentic and spicy...More

We had such a great experience at the Rangoon Tea House, we made a second stop at the end of our trip. I recommend trying the below items: - tea leaf salad - mutton curry - pork bun - signature tea latte

The food here is great no wonder why the restaurant was crowded when we arrived. The atmosphere is nice. Highly recommend.

This place is very popular with tourists and locals alike, it seems. All the food we tried was really good, with the savoury dishes being a little bit better than the desserts in my opinion. It's worthwhile to go at least once, be it only...More

Very attentive crew of service staff. Food (both bfast and lunch menu) are of good quality and provides a taste of local dishes. Ordered mohinga and chicken bao the first round and we went back for the second time before leaving yangon. Enjoyed the drinks...More

This place is a great twist between western and Burmese flavours. The coconut noodles are to die for! The cocktails are spectacular, we sat upstairs and got very drunk during happy hour. A little more pricey than the usual but worth it!

Seriously, this place should just turn itself into a cocktail bar. They make brilliant drinks! The food is pretty good too, but a bit pricey for the portion size. The mohinga is good as well as the wraps. The service could be a bit more...More

I live in Singapore, and was just visiting. Make sure your son has US dollars; they do not accept cards everywhere in Yangon, but as i recall at the teahouse they do

Doubt they would. Rangoon is new to ATM's prepaid food vouchers would be a ways off I'd suggest getting in contact with Mark at the Strand and seeing if you can prepay drinks & nibbles st the bar there instead.

Description
Rangoon Tea House is a modern recreation of an old, colonial-era restaurant set in the heart of downtown Yangon. The cuisine is inspired from that of local tea shops, whose traditions stretch back to when Burma was a part of British India when Rangoon was the second largest migration port in the world. That translates to the menu where you can find Mohinga, biryani, and chocolate samosas! The mezzanine of Rangoon Tea House is The Toddy Bar, a modern Burmese cocktail bar with cocktails designed by award-winning and internationally renowned mixologist, Hideyuki Saito.
