Words are not even needed for their signature Gamjatang dish. Ribs that fall off from the bones perfectly, super tender potatoes and an awesome broth! I would eat this everyday if I could!

We were in a spectacle shop and asked the staff for food recommendation. Onedang was their immediate response. We were a little skeptical because the shopfront looked like overly touristy, if you know what I mean. When we entered, it was PACKED! They have a mix of table and floor seats. If you can, wait a table because the floors... More

My girlfriend and I chanced upon this restaurant after a long day and since it was pretty cold, we wanted some hot tofu stew to warm us up. We were not expecting much because the restaurant was tucked away in the corner of myeongdong. We, however, did like that it was clean, spacious and brightly lit. We ordered our spicy... More

Lunch in a cold day!We couldn't take too spicy! We changed the spicy pork belly to ordinary one ! Tasty ! It's nice to take a rest in here for lunch or dinner after a long day shopping !

Although part of a chain, this outlet serves good gamja-tang, a popular local dish. If you are less adventurous you can try the spicy chicken and bibimbap. Don't be turned off if you see a big crowd. Service is fast. Price is very reasonable.

I found this place from some travel site. It looks similar to what we have in LA with pork bone version. We ordered the small size and it looked big. There are a lot of pork bone but there wasn't much meat on it. There are not much potatoes in there either. The pasta was chewy. But it wasn't anything... More

I stumbled upon this place by chance after seeing the crowd. The pork bone soup is delicious and the meat is so tender except too little. If you want to add more pork bones without the vegetables and potatoes, just order the smaller portion which comes with three big-sized pork bones. The bibimbap is disappointing so is the pancake. The... More

This place was recommended by a Korean friend who told us that the shop serves very good pork bone soup. It had been two years since our last visit, but I must say, we still enjoyed the pork bone soup. Between 4 of us, we ordered the medium size soup. But later realised it may be too much as we... Gamjatang is easily one of my favourite dish in South Korea. The ribs from OneDang are succulent and generous. We ordered portion for 2 pax and we hardly manage to finish our portion. Service was average. Most staffs are able to communicate in Mandarin since there are many tourists from the Mainland China. Food were served quickly. There were many... More

Staying in Myeongdong / Namdaemun

Neighbourhood Profile
Myeongdong / Namdaemun
Arguably Seoul’s most famous neighbourhood and undoubtedly one of its most popular, Myeongdong takes shopping and eating to new heights, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes all stacked on top of one another. The rise in popularity of Korean cosmetics, fashion, and more has made this area a must-see for visitors who come and marvel at Myeongdong’s often frenetic pace and energy. Lotte and Shinsaegae’s massive department stores are also popular draws for both Korean and luxury products. The department stores, just like Myeongdong’s streets, are crowded around the clock. Myeongdong’s many street food carts are also immensely popular for their inexpensive and quirky offerings (French-fry-encrusted corn dogs, anyone?). The neighbourhood’s popularity, as well as its close proximity to other popular sights and neighbourhoods, makes it one of Seoul’s most popular places to stay.
