Great restaurant in the heart of Myeong Deong. I had the is Ox bone soup with vegetables and my sister had it with rice cakes. Both were delicious. Highly recommend if you like warm soup on a cold day. Though, stay away from the Kimchi pancake, bit too oily for my liking.

I think a lot of people giving this place bad reviews fail to realize you need to add salt and pepper to taste to the very rich broth, that's why its provided to the table. Eating it as is is still probably good, but the S&P really take it to another level. This was one of the best 설렁탕 I've... More

Honestly delicious and incredibly milky broth. Ordered the Seolnongtang for 7,000w while my partner had the special one which had mushrooms, jujubes and ginseng (perhaps some other roots & herbs too). Both were tasty (though I would see why if you're used to heavier seasoning you'll find it a bit bland), the latter more herbal. Go for the original though,... More

One of my favourite restaurant in Seoul. The brooth is quite tasty, considering most of Korea's broth is rather bland. The meat is tender, and don't forget to try their dumpling. The price is also reasonable. The nearest subway is Myeongdong station. Instagram : @adjimantoro

If i could give 0 stars I would. Its as bland as plain water and the amount of beef in my soup is near negligible. Wouldnt give this a go as there are many more better food choices in Myeongdong.

Having passed by this place and seen the huge line of locals out the front each time, we were curious to give it a try. So when we happened to be walking past (about 17:30-18:00 on a Sunday) and the line wasn't ridiculous we decided to give it a try. We didn't have to wait long to be shown in... More

After a red eye flight and some winks, we really want a soup based lunch badly. This Resturant is famous for clear and white need rib soup. Some years ago, there was a drama series filmed in this chain. I brought along my Friend and she was amazed by the free flow of kimchi. We ordered our meals and the... More

This seolleongtang speciality shop is located conveniently in Myeongdong. It is really busy during meal times, even breakfast time, so be prepared to queue! Since it's open 24/7, you might want to go during odd hours so you can get a seat quickly. I ordered seollongtang, tteokguk seollongtang and doganitang. The soup of all 3 were milky and quite rich... Staying in Myeongdong / Namdaemun

Neighbourhood Profile
Myeongdong / Namdaemun
Arguably Seoul’s most famous neighbourhood and undoubtedly one of its most popular, Myeongdong takes shopping and eating to new heights, with hundreds of shops, restaurants, and cafes all stacked on top of one another. The rise in popularity of Korean cosmetics, fashion, and more has made this area a must-see for visitors who come and marvel at Myeongdong’s often frenetic pace and energy. Lotte and Shinsaegae’s massive department stores are also popular draws for both Korean and luxury products. The department stores, just like Myeongdong’s streets, are crowded around the clock. Myeongdong’s many street food carts are also immensely popular for their inexpensive and quirky offerings (French-fry-encrusted corn dogs, anyone?). The neighbourhood’s popularity, as well as its close proximity to other popular sights and neighbourhoods, makes it one of Seoul’s most popular places to stay.
