I, a French guy, went to the restaurant with my Korean friend, thinking it could be interesting to try the fusion of our two culture's food, prepared with expertise. We were absolutely not disappointed. The team in the kitchen really managed to bring Korea and...France together through a rollercoaster of tastes. The staff was very professional and knew everything of the art of French service (such as how to serve Champagne properly) while applying the Korean style of respect and politeness. All of that with smiles and perfect english. If you have to try one fancy restaurant in Seoul, this is the one.More

Lab24 is nestled inside Le Meridien, Seoul. Menu was helmed by Edward Kwon, supposed to be a celebrity chef in his own right. Well, we were not disappointed. On a Friday when we were there, the restaurant was almost full, except for 2-3 tables in...the main dining arra that was empty. Ambience was good, setting was appropriately done for a French contemporary experience. We went for the Dinner Menu (degustation), priced at KRW99,500. Several items required additional charges. The starter of four was very interesting. Flavourful and fun, like petite sampling on octopus, seabream, etc. Followed by crab, and then the scallop. The latter was prepared in a creamy rich sauce - well executed. A good start to a meal. We ordered the sirloin and the chicken. The sirlion with foie gras sauce was good but not exceptional. The chicken was a good surprise. Usually chicken was uninteresting (somethjng that can’t go wrong, but also not easy to wow), but it was very tender and full of flavor. Then followed by dessert and petite four. We had the cheese mousse with tete-de-moine (this was the only one that did not impress). Overall a great meal, good combination of style, portion was just perfect, and lively interaction between different ingredients. Well-recommded to impress a date.More

We visited as a large group with a set 8 course menu. They were flexible with modifications to accommodate folks likes and dislikes. For most of the dishes the food was good, but not "wow me" and at their prices it should be "wow me"....In the US or Europe this would be a two star review but for French in Seoul it was okay. Service was good, but again not great and you need to make sure you have Korean speakers with you to understand the courses. The English print menu doesn't do a good job of describing what you are going to eat. The dishes are small and not more than a bite or two and while the flavors blend well, it's just a taste. On subsequent visits to Seoul I'll avoid.More

Celebrated my wife's birthday at Lab 24 on June 29, 2017. The evening was memorable. The staff were all very polite and professional. We had the "Signature Dinner" which was one of the best meals we have had in Seoul. My congrats to Chef Edward...Kim and his other talented chefs for designing such a delightful menu. As the menu changes every three months we are looking forward to visiting again!More

We went for lunch and enjoyed the experience to the fullest. One of us being a vegetarian, in Korea is not always easy to eat out but chef Edward Kwon accommodated this and made a special main with polenta. The amuse bouches were more on...the sweet side and that put us off in the beginning but being aware of the Korean taste, we knew where they were coming from. The entrees were savoury and we absolutely loved them, especially the burrata sphere done in liquid nitrogen and the mushroom / truffle cream soup. For mains we had the dover sole (cooked in sous-vide) and a polenta steak with truffle - both were cooked to perfection and served in a wise combination of flavours. We asked for a 2-glass wine pairing and were very pleased with the choices (one cava and a chardonnay from California). The chef came himself to our table to explain the mains, which we also thought was a nice gesture. The dessert was a hibiscus sorbet with sponge cake and meringue. We also got some petits fours with our coffee at the end of the meal. The lunch menu gives good value for money. The restaurant decor is bright and sophisticated. The kitchen is open and one can see the chefs preparing the meals. The staff is professional and speaks good English.More

I visited Lab XXIV, aptly named because the chef is inventing innovative recipes 24 hours a day, Wednesday at 5:15pm for early dinner. I was there 15 minutes before opening time, so they had me relax outside and offered some sparkling water. I was promptly...seated at 5:30 and my delightful dinner started. The amuse had 5 items, each quite delicate. The bread was then served in a box which kept the bread heated using hot stones at the bottom. It had baguettes, rolls and a fig bread that was the yummiest. I chose the escargot dumplings and eggplant appetizers which were well presented. My main course was sea bass which I requested instead of beef. The desserts were plentiful and very elaborately prepared. It had eucalyptus ice cream prepared table side with liquid nitrogen! By the time the cheese plate arrived, I was completely stuffed. I had to take the cookies and macaroons to go which made to a delicious breakfast the next day. During the meal I had several chats with Edward Kwon, the chef, who is very personable, and he came when he heard I had come from San Francisco. He said he loved his time there when he worked at the SF and Half Moon Bay Ritz. Highly recommended!More

Multiple course meal, fantastic wines from around the world, and remarkable ambiance. How can anyone NOT fall in love for this restaurant. Frankly, I had no idea who Edward Kwon was. Didn't know that he was a celebrity chef in Korea, sort of like Gordon...Ramsay. This is Edward Kwon's restaurant. In the middle of our (blissful) meal, he walked by, engaged in small talk and kindly agreed to take pictures with our table. The highlight of this restaurant, however, is the Sommelier. He is superb at selecting the perfect wine for each dish. So if you eat any meals here, definitely go for the wine pairing. It's worth every Won/Dollar.More

I've been traveling to Seoul for over 10 years and had not yet run across a restaurant like Lab XXIV. A multi-course tasting menu with delicious food and delightful presentation made it quite a memorable meal. Starting out with 4 amuse bouche bites set the...tone for a varied journey through various tastes, textures and foods. I won't attempt to describe them all here. You just have to experience it for yourself. The dessert was also quite a show with table side preparation of liquid nitrogen ice cream that became part of sharing platter of many different components. Go for the experience. I don't think you'll be disappointed.More

If you thought business and fun couldn’t mix, look no
further than urban Gangnam and the nearby
neighborhoods. On the surface, Gangnam comes off as a
strictly business district with a plethora of
high-rise office buildings jutting into the sky and
the steady streams of office workers bustling about.
But interlaced within are a string of shops,
