We stopped here to escape the freezing Seoul winter air. We were immediately caught by the unique interior of the cafe. We just had coffee and some snack, and they were great! The space was a bit cramped, but it added a warm and close...feeling. Majority of the patrons were young people. We definitely love the atmosphere.More
I've no clue about kdramas until my wife told me that Miss Lee cafe was frequently featured in Korean TV programmes, and shot to fame after Yong-hwa from CNBLUE and SeoHyun of Girls’ Generation and TTS appeared on “We Got Married and ‘dated in the...café’. Ahh that rings a bell because I know who's Seo Hyun cos of GG haha. The cafe looks super cool with notes of confession hanging from the tree to the window but I am not here for that because I am a foodie. We ordered the korean lunch box set and oh my it was yummy, I think it was spam/sausage, egg, seaweed and rice in it. You have to shake the lunch box until its all mixed up. *(BECAREFUL BECAUSE THE KIMCHI SAUCE WILL LEAK OUT)! I also ordered the tea latte and it's really very flavorful and I love it. Will come back to Miss Lee Cafe to chill and hang out the next time.More
This café is diagonally opposite Gyeongbokgung Palace, facing the main road. We were there where the US President was supposed to drive pass. Both sides of the road were lined with police and army personnel. We chose a table on the upper deck and had...a good view of the happenings outside. We ordered four Dosirak sets (Korean classic lunch box) which included tteokbokki (Korean rice cake), salad, soup, drinks and dessert. The lunch box was tasty and we had fun shaking and mixing it. What surprise us was the salad, it has banana slices, kiwi, tomatoes and salad vegetables, the salad dressing was really delicious.More
The walls were pasted with notes of sketches, confession, proposal and many wishes, ... some hanging from a tree or window. The staff was a bit cold but I feel Okay about it. This café with much text sign from Korean celebrities, so much !!...Popular dishes are the old school lunch boxes, bingsoo, and traditional Korean snacks. You can try one of the best Bingsu빙수. It is soft, and melts in the mouth.More
This cute little café is where I chill after a long walk around Insadong. They have some traditional Korean tea as well as coffee and dessert. You can also get food if you're hungry and it's not bad for a café. The interior is really...cute and definitely a place to take some pictures! Go with friends and order the lunchbox and iced omija latte. :)More
My friends and I went to this restaurant as it's at the entrance of the Insadong shopping street. A few minutes walk from the MRT station. The restaurant is not so crowded when i was there perhaps the time was quarter before 2. There are...papers for your to write your message and you may hang to the wall and there are postcards for you to take. We shakes the tin box as suggested but eventually the sauces was leaking from the edge of the tin box. I bet that's not so good idea just to shake without manual mixing. The food is just nice.More
The meals are all the same, a tin box with rice and some spam ham type of meat and kimchi and egg. Quick, simple and easy if your on a budget (definitely a student hang out) and want quick food-court food in a artsy/cute cafe...and hungry. The cafe is on the top level where if you get a window seat you can see the view outside. If you decide to get the seats that are all tucked inside, it's a lot more cramp however young student people love it. Its like a 80's dorm room with craft and colour notes and scribbles on the wall everywhere. Pop art street cool. The Korean culture love handwritten notes and arts and crafts combined with anything cute so it's a winner if your into this kinda thing. I would suggest that this cafe is prob best for their drinks and ice snow desserts after a long day walking around the palaces and tourist attractions. It's a funky cafe and I would definitely recommend it if your looking for a place to rest your feet and chill before walking down insadong tourist strip.More
My wife and I stopped by here after visiting Gyeongbokgung and the Jogyesa temple...we wanted a quick rest and refreshment. This place reminded me of maid cafe's in Japan so we went inside. Well it's not a maid cafe per se but it's fun, cheerful...decorations and peppy wait staff serving up cafe fare as well as full lunches. We were a bit confused by how it works, turns out you have to sit down and then press the call button on the table. A lot of places in Korea work like that so something for us American tourists to keep in mind when visiting. I had a iced vanilla latte, good as expected. My wife wisely ordered the Omija smoothie which was a great discovery. We were not quite sure what it was when ordering but found out that it is an herbal tea consumed as a sort of revitalizing energy drink. It had a very interesting flavor...tart, a little sweet, a tiny tiny bit bitter. Certainly a unique flavor and provided a nice pick up after our long tour of the palace. Not sure how the food is but for a quick rest stop with drinks it's winner.More
Came here for lunch during weekday, the decor is interesting. And it has the student lunch sepcial include a main course (bento box or spicy rice cake) and a choice of bererage for about 7000w($7USD) which is a great deal. The bento box is taste...and interesting. But the special beverage actually is the best part of the meal. The menu has English, Chinese and maybe Japnese which is convenient for foreignerMore
No doubt a girly place to have a meal. Where you have this kinda nostalgic lunch box for 5000 Won and write little notes to stick on the trees or wherever.
The restaurant is not big and the menu is very small. There is only few option to choose (they focus on serving the old school korean lunch box and korean rice cake). The service was quite slow, food quality is average, but I admit that...everything is unique.More
The ambiance is relaxing but the dosirak is expensive. I was a bit disappointed with the taste. I just went there because it's the first thing I saw when I went to Insadong.
Recommended for drinks or shave ice only. Cafe is cozy. But felt really cheated when the food served looked so different from what was displayed in the showcase. I suspect the restaurant microwave its food, they are tasted like rubber. I ordered a Korean traditional...cake. It turned out so different and cannot be bitten. The traditional lunch box looks different too.More
I had lunch in this restaurant (though the address seems a bit off, it was in Bukchon, not Insadong). The decor is really funny and cute, but the food is not that great.
