Located in 16 maroof street off the famous champlion street . In the corner of the street . Try to go there in early morning to avoid the crowd. It is really delicious & tasty . I have tried many koshary shops but Abu tarek is unique.

If you are only going to have koshary once while in Egypt, have it here. It's pretty great, to say the least. It's not exactly a place to linger over your food though, so maybe not somewhere to go to if you are absolutely shattered from an intensive day of sightseeing.

We went there on the recommendation of our guide at the end of a long day sightseeing in and around Cairo. We wanted to try something local and not the regular buffet meals served at the internationalized hotels. This is a specialty place and they make only one dish here. It was like a mix of European and Middle-Eastern flavors... More

Our wonderful tour guide Samir (MrEgypt) took us here and we were so happy to experience traditional food. The restaurant was very busy (all 4 flours) and it wasn't even lunch time 2:30pm.) Delicious food and an experience in itself. I will try to recreate it at home but doubt it will compare.

The best koshary in Egypt! We tried koshary in Cairo, Luxor and Aswan. Abou Tarek was the best! Friendly, quick service and tasty rice pudding, too!
