GAD is always a solution for the problem of being hungry any time, with minimum money you can have several sandwiches. Foul, felafel, eggs, eggplant. shawerma, fries .. etc. Don't miss trying it anytime or in any branch !

Foul and taameya are sold all through Egypt, but eating from a street cart can make you very ill. It is better to try them from a restaurant like Gad which is safe, clean and cheap.

We went to Gad after reading in Lonely Planet. It is not a fancy restaurant but great Egyptian food. Please try the Hamam Mashi and Chocolate Crepe. They are delicious.

Lovely falafel, hummus etc. 'Shakshuka' more like scrambled egg with tomato. Ask for the English menu - it really helps knowing what you're ordering (even then, you might not get quite what you thought you were getting - don't be precious about it, just enjoy...More

Gad is one of the local & oriental good places that serve nice and high quality oriental food in EGYPT .. but the best dish is foul & falafel. You have to try it and hope you will enjoy. Reco
