After a lot of walking round Beijing we really needed a sit down and a proper coffee and a clean loo. You know the feeling. We were walking from the Bell Tower to the Lama Temple and had been exploring the Hutongs in the morning where the cafes were quite noisy and touristy but had no loos! This place has... More

The atmosphere in Cafe Alba is great! Beautiful place, well decorated and I liked the terrace very much! The only problem is that the menu is expensive.

When I first discovered this cafe last winter I was really impressed. We had the front window seat and it was comfortable and relaxing. I'm not a coffee expert but the coffee seemed good. I have been back several times and have had mixed experiences. The seats at the back are not nearly as comfortable as those looking into the... More

Set on the drum tower east road, hidden among designers shops, restaurants and musical instrument shops. Nice, quiet, vintage furniture, arty photographs. Decent coffee, ordinary food fare (western). Nice music (at least they change cd's here). And, last but not least...--> no smoking, thank god, not allowed! There is a rooftop terrace for when the days are warmer. Terribly busy... More

It's not that easy to find good coffee in Beijing, but cafe Alba serves quite good coffee. It also has great hot chocolate and friendly service. The area of Gulou is great and the cafe has nice atmosphere, especially if you miss home (e.g. European cafes).

1. After a long walk at NanLuoGuXiang nearby, you need a place to refresh, it will be a great place. 2. Food and Coffee Quality not bad. I love the breakfast. 3. The atmosphere here is very appealing and relaxing. It is suitable to couple and some very close friends to get together.

I've eaten here numerous times. The staff understand English, are efficient and the food is fresh and delicious. The breakfast is great and I especially love the homemade sausages. The salads and sandwiches are better than most restaurants at a very good price. Even though it's in a popular area and near many tourist spots, there is always a table... More

We stopped here for a quick breakfast of pancakes, french toast and croissants served with a decent coffee. Friendly serving staff with limited English but hey I forgot MY phrasebook.

I have been here twice. The first time I didn't really like the food, but it seemed so popular I thought I would give it another go. Bad idea. The food quality is terrible and the taste is even worse. I get that the atmosphere here is appealing to some, but you should make any special effort to come here,... More

The coffee is great and the food is very popular with expats, although we didn't eat there. The staff are generally on their game and the atmosphere is very cool and welcoming. What more can you ask for? My only issues were that the toilet was a bit dirty and the prices are quite high.

Thank tombillinge
