Average restaurant, not elegant, with plastic dishes, but good Indonesian food at honest prices, not more not less.

Love some Indonesia food and rijsttafel. This will satisfy a craving and the other people eating were Indonesian. The Nasi Pedang has a mini rijsttafel selection as shown in other reviewers' pictures. I would go again if in the neighborhood. Beef rendang good but not enough spice. Other stuff was Ok. No tempeh tahu sticks. Chicken with Padang sauce not... More

I was previously working in Hong Kong for a couple of years but have been away for the last four. I previously ate here about once per week and always enjoyed it. I was travelling with a colleague that hadn't been to the area before, so I chose to take him to Padang - my recommendation. He was not disappointed,... More

This restaurant has been around for umpteen years and the owners remain the same. On top of the usual signature dishes, you can also find unique desserts such as kueh lapis and they also have sambal chilly sauce for sale. Just the 2 of us and we cant order too much and typically a must have is the beef rendeng... More

They were strugle explained the menu, but surprised that they speak Bahasa. Make ever more easier to me to guide my friend. We have rendang and beef curry also fish with mango salad. Taste... More

Food was slightly pricey, and the taste is definitely not close to any taste of Indonesia. Not a single dish was up to any standard. To think that we had a total of 10 dishes and not one made the cut, shows that this is just one of the so-called restaurants that tries to be an Indonesian restaurant wannabe... Definitely... More

We visited Padang Friday evening around 9pm. It was quiet and therefore the service was fast. If you are familiar with Indonesian food, you understand the menu much better. Otherwise, you might expect something different. Our dishes came out quickly, the quality is good and fresh. But the spices could have been stronger. When we ordered some more dishes, the... More

Was here on a Sunday for lunch - almost no people there - not a good sign... Had chicken satay (6 pcs, included some chewy parts) + Nasi Goreng + 1 coke. Were also charged the nuts served as an appetizer for 12 HKD and 10% service charge. All in all we paid >200 HKD for not so much to... More

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
