This is a small Thai restaurant with a family feel. Delicious food and generous portions. The lady running it is from Thailand and is very friendly. Good cake for the money.

Place serves very good food, as Thai as it can get. Staff are Thai, only one of them is not so friendly, but maybe its just the look on her face))) They will let you bring your own alcohol if its a party for 6 or more people as they only have beer and few wines there, so take advantage;)... More

Maybe the other restaurants in this chain are better, but the Wanchai branch is fairly average Thai Cuisine. While some dishes were close to real Thai most were toned down in the spice category resulting in some bland dishes particularly the prawn and pineapple salad. Prices are reasonable for Hong Kong and the sizes of the portions are good. But... More

When you enter through the door to the New Bangkok restaurant in HongKong it feels like entering a similar venue in Bangkok. It is that genuine. I've been there twice and the very friendly, Thai staff, offers true Thai food with genuine taste and spicyness. Try the smooth Tom Kha Gai and the crispy spring rolls in combination with the... Place that looks like would be a bit shady from outside but this is one of the hidden good spots of HK. Price is in the average HK price range $70-100HKD per dish. Good portion size and nice tasting. Had the classic pad Thai and was great and curries which all been good so far.Better parts of the meat could... More

came with a large group and served a fixed menu: food was uniformly fine - chicken kabobs, green curry, cold cabbage salad with peanuts, beef with peppers, pad thai with veggies; fish rolls and spicy shrimp were stand-outs... staff was pleasant, but seemed to want to get our group out the door before we barely finished our food!! - that... Fairly standard Thai fare. The food was reasonable and tasty enough. It is hard to find a bad Thai restaurant and this is one that is around middle of the pack.

New Bangkok have 3 branches in HK, I visited the one at 366 Hennessy Rd. Had a great meal here, started with soft shell crab, then mains of duck Thai curry, seafood fried rice, minced pork, green beans and chilli, drinks for 3 people consisted of 4 beers plus 1 Long Island tea, total $365 including 10% service charge. The... More

Next to my office building and 1st time trying out this place Old and dingy, not a good first impression . Then they attempted to make me share a table with other customers . Didn't go for that Ordered a lunch set of green curry pork with longan drink. Average taste and presentation and after the meal, still no drink... More

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
