I lived in India for more thantwo years and often feel that the Indian food out side of India is often too much adapted to the local tastes. Often even if I tell them to have the real authentic taste they often do not believe me and I than get often a bland dish. Not here,... They loved that we... More

Should be 'average' due to the odd entrance on Mody Rd. & rundown building/immediate surroundings on the second floor 1F, which makes it different (should be improved) but once inside the ambiance is relaxing and cool so it let's you enjoy. Shame it detracts from this version of the Indian cuisine experience... Special biryani was prepared just right with a... More

I liked this restaurant and they were kind to let us in even past 11 pm though they were closed. Food was good and portions were good. If you 3, you can share one portion. The paneer wasnt that soft but you cant expect Punjab here. Location is a bit tough to find but I am sure Food makes you... More

This is a review of the Koh-i-Noor Indian Restaurant on Mody Road, TST. This is confusing because Trip Advisor gives an address of 34-36 D'Aguilar St in Central but the existing TripAdvisor reviews of Koh-I-Noor relate to a Koh-i-Noor at Mody Road, TST, Kowloon as does ours. The authoritative Hong Kong dining site openrice.com confirms that the D'Aguilar St is... More

We were looking for Korinoor, which used to be in Lang Kwai Fong, and thought this was its new location. Boy, were we wrong! The location is poor, the building scary and approach freaked out our family visiting from the States. The decor is colorful but old and worn. This restaurant is definitely for the brave! To be fair, we... More

If you are staying in Tsim Tsa Tsui and looking for good Indian food than you must try Koh-i-noor restaurant which has entry from one of the shops on Mody Road . I used it only for takeaways as I was staying in nearby Holiday Inn and didn't find entrance and ambiance that great . However , food was very... More

This chain has been around a long time and has not improved at all. The curries are made with a 'mother sauce' and taste identical. It is really for locals who are not familiar with the cuisine and find this place less intimidating. Given the number of superb Indian restaurants in HK, give this one a wide berth.

I have eaten there many times, usually I find the food good, few times great and few times not so good. Over all an above average taste, so you can always go there if you are nto able to decide upon anything better. Apart fom that, there are some dishes that taste great like handi biryani(pot meat rice). Non-veg is... More

Staying in Central

Neighbourhood Profile
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
