This is a pleasant upscale Shanghai restaurant in Causeway Bay. 10 Shanghai serves refined southern Chinese flavors with a stylish presentation. Smoked egg is rich and creamy. Fried eel is light and crispy. Fried xiao long bao is an interesting option. Decor is cozy and...spacious. Service is pretty nice. Price is quite reasonable. The place in general is more suitable for business meetings.More

Great food with delicious smoked BB squab and lovely dim sum. Prefect Shanghainese afternoon tea at an affordable price. Will definitely try again.

前菜拼盤Appetizer Platter 女兒紅醉雞、金絲小排骨、四喜烤麩、黑松露珍珠燻溏心蛋 Aged Shaoxing Huadiao brined Chicken, Shanghai Style Sweet & Sour Baby Back Ribs, Roasted Bran Dough with Peanuts & Black Fungus, Smoked Soft boiled Eggs with Black Truffle Pearls 畢竟餐廳走滬菜路線,前菜全是店方拿手菜色。 香檳 Champagne(Nicolas Feuillatte Reserve Exclusive Brut NV)、白酒 White Wine(Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc)及紅酒 Red Wine(Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir)More

Covid-19 certainly affected restaurants in Hong Kong, but some have responded with innovative promotions. 10 Shanghai offered a 'Classic Huiyang Afternoon Tea Set' (starting at 3 pm) which included six selected appetizers, four kinds of dim sum, a roasted pigeon (to be shared by two...guests), noodles and a special drink. Excellent quality at a very reasonable price. Service just okay. Place was packed so make sure you booked ahead of time. Note also that since the tea set can be ordered for 2 or 4 guests. There were actually three of us, so one of us who have already tried the tea set previously went for their signature fried rice which was also excellent. Overall quality of food was high but the very reasonable price make it an excellent deal.More

This restaurant is located in Lee Garden, offering Huaiyang cuisines, which combines the culinary specialties of Suzhou and Shanghai, and the best of the offerings within the area. The entrance has a decoration of the classical Chinese moon gate which is quite eye-catching. Entering the...restaurant there is a tone of stylish modern interiors, and passing through several banquettes with jasper green couches offering better privacy, the main dining hall has a wooden flooring and arched metal partitions. However, the tables are just too small to put the dishes. As a result we asked the staff to prepare the dish one by one. The first served being Huadiao-Brined Squab ($142). Beautifully presented back to resemble the shape, the squab has been marinated perfectly with the brine having the right balance of huadiao and marinade. The meat is quite tender too. Next we had the soups, with me going for Double-Boiled Bean Curd Blossom with Matsutake and Crab Claw in Chicken Consomme ($108) while my wife had Braised Fish Maw with Creamy Crab Roe ($218). Apparently my wife liked her soup very much, with the crab roe intense and flavorful with the fish maw having a nice bite. Served in a clay bowl, my soup certainly is a demonstration of the amazing knife skills of the chef. The bean curd is cut in a way to resemble the blossom, with the petals all so finely cut. The soup base is a bit too salty, while the matsutake mushroom and crab claw are decent in taste. Still the presentation alone is sufficient reason to try it out. Then we had the signature Jiangsu River Shrimps Sauteed with Crab Roe ($328). The crab roe is very good, intense and seasoned very well, and I can understand why my wife had a good compliment on the soup. On the other hand the river shrimps are a bit disappointing, as it did not have the crunchy texture I would expect. Another dish we often ordered is Baby Yellow Croaker Deep-Fried with Salt and Pepper ($118). The fish is surprisingly large in size, with a crispy skin, soft and tender flesh. The deep-fried salt and pepper added a layer of exciting taste, delicious and with the price point it is one of the best value and quality. A test to any Shanghai restaurant is always the quality of their xiao long bao. The Signature Steamed Xiao Long Bao ($75) has five pieces, each having a thin dough skin, and you can see the jus holding up inside. The minced pork and jus is tasty, and adding a bit of Zhejiang vinegar further enhanced the flavors to another level. Wrapping up we had the dessert, with both of us choosing Glutinous Dumplings in Sweet Ginger Soup ($52 each). The soup has an intense ginger note and taste, certainly delivering a kick on spiciness in a pleasant way. The dumplings are decent, with sesame fillings and a chewy bite. Service is decent overall, with the only black mark coming when I asked whether we can switch to another table when we were first seated, the response from the manager (I presume) was just pure rude, shutting us down and without trying to even pretend and see what he can help. On hindsight I feel amazed I did not just walk away at that point. The bill was $1,268 which is reasonable in my opinion. There are so good points for sure, but just a reminder that it is important to pay better attention to the service as it is easy for one single person to ruin the overall experience and reputation of a restaurant.More

Good set for hairy crab which is both filling and tasty. Needed to wait 2 weeks before I got a seat which shows a testament as to how good the value is for the hairy crab set. All dishes of the set all have the...hairy crab roe base. It starts you off with Chinese appetizers and followed by soup, then an actual hairy crab (~250gram or 5 liang), then shrimp (on rice cracker), then fried rice with crab roe sauce, finally ending with a black sesame dessert. Overall good, will be back to try other Shanghainese dishesMore

I feel so sorry for the sharks😭  幾好味嘅,入面好足料唔係得生粉水,蟹味都濃嘅。 Fuiyoh! The egg fried rice has so much 鑊氣 and 粒粒分明, the 蟹粉汁...tastes ok but makes the rice a bit too moist, 鮑魚 is quite nice and chewy. More

Nice interior but space was quite small, usually quite noisy if not because of seat reduction due to the pandemic control. Services were ok but seemed staff were not properly trained & a bit unorganized. Shanghainese dishes under their hairy crab set meal being served...tonight tasted quite average. Prawns with crab roes on rice cracker, baked crab meat with egg white on shell & smoked egg were the better dishes of the set. However, after discount this set was quite good value & worth trying.More

We went to this restaurant when we found a promotion from the United we dine promotion. The dinner started with a surprising little show when the smoked egg arrived. Other appetisers like the jellyfish were also delicious. Then it comes the soup 佛跳牆. Wow, it...has all the ingredients everyone would have die for, such as abalone and fish maws. Following the soup, we had the sweet and sour giant prawn and fish with rice cake. Both dishes are v nicely cooked. I like the fish v much with the delicious sauce and and rice cake. And now it comes the fried rice in shark fins soup. This was once a special dish for rich families when I was young. The dish went out of favour afterwards. And today I am so lucky to try this traditional dish. The fried rice was cooked with some diced prawns. Both the rice and shark fins soup were v tasty. And last but not the least, I had my favourite bird nest dessert in almond soup. I would say that this is one of my favourite almond soup I have ever tried. In conclusion, 10 Shanghai is a good place for Shanghai cuisine. I would definite come back soon.More
