If you want to try a traditional local food in a nice area with good services and reasonable price, this is the place you need to go. I stayed in Hong Kong for 4 days and went there everyday for either breakfast or late night food. The food tastes way better than the similar one in US. Highly recommend!

Another yummy Hong Kong style cafe food. The service was prompt and courteous. Despite that I heard many complaints abt rude service in HK, I also feel that good service had to start with the consumer. Greeting your server and thanking them in local.language always get you good service. We had the porridge sets - porridge with one snack (... More

We came here after arriving HK and it was busy even late into the night. Food was OK but I felt that it was a little overpriced for the portion they served. Service was fine and the place was quite crowded and tight. An average place for something quick and easy.

HK-style cheap eats with English menu. I was told by someone, this is the equivalent of Mcdonalds, ie HK fast food. Having said that, quality of the food is not too shabby.

This restaurant serves congee and other traditional breakfast menu. The service was ok and the food was good and affordable. Ocean empire congee and the fried bread stick are recommended.

Delicious & filling. Less crowded compared to last year where queues formed outside. Staff more relaxed & happier.

Last May 2015, me and my friend visited Ocean Empire restaurant, while staying in Ibis Hotel North Point. We ordered congee and fried twisted doughnut with rice sheet roll, the food is good, and the price is reasonable. The place is clean and the service of the staff is helpful.

We visited the shop in CityWalk near Nina Tower while we were staying at L'Hotel Nina for 3 days. We ordered 3 different congees and a few side dishes and had a great dinner. The staff are very nice, and can help with limited English if you have any questions. Very good service, and a very nice meal. Great taste.... More

Service is good but food is slow to serve. Quality of food is average and nothing to shout about. Only come here if you are not in a hurry and have no other choice which is rare in Hk.

We went to the causeway bay branch at the back of Windsor. Place is clean and always full of people. However, turn around of people is quite fast so no need to wait for a long time. Had congee, noodles, sticky rice and sum dimsum. Staff was a bit snobbish though. Hard to request for some water and extra bowls.

Thank et c

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
