Nicely prepared food. Fine dining in fast food style. Dishes were tasty but the portions were small.

This Din tai fung was good but I prefer the one in Bangkok. The soy sauce and the vinegar were very weak. Not sure if this is normal or not haha. Maybe that's what a high quality soy sauce is suppose to taste like, honestly I'm not sure. Overall though it's still a solid restaurant and I recommend it.

Going to Din Tai Fund has become a good tradition in our family every time we visit Hong Kong. Michelin recommended. This place is an excellent illustration that a simple food like dim sum can become a culinary masterpiece. The restaurant is always full of people and very often you will see people queuing outside to be seated. Do not... More

One the best value for the money in HK. I am always bringing my visitors, family and friends there, pleasure is always the same. A bit noisy (quite a norm here) but efficient and friendly service. May have to queue on Sat. or Sun. but this gives the opportunity to watch the fascinating ballet of cooks making the dim sum... More

Good food in nice surroundings. Went twice and busy. Had to queue on Sunday. Better on Tuesday. Good desserts. Would recommend a visit.

recommended to us by 2 our our friends who have lived in HK, this is a place not to be missed! No reservations, but the line up moves quickly. A very popular spot for good reason, the food is hot, fast, tasty, varied and authentic. We'll be back every visit to HK!

I searched for best restaurants around Causeway, and Din Tai Fung was number 1. So we asked our driver to bring us there. It is inside a hotel (i think) and it is located on the first floor. I read that oftentimes, there many people on waitlist but they usually do not have to wait too long. We arrived at... More

We had dinner here after shopping in causeway bay- you order lots of small dishes that come out at various times- dumplings, soup, noodles, green beans- all were fabulous and washed down with a Chinese beer. And we were in and out in about an hour- its not fancy - but great to experience different dishes and the soup dumplings!!... More

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
