Full Hong Kong experience! Super fast super busy super delicious! Do not expect to have time and relax for hours, busy city busy restaurants, totally worth it!

This place has retained its charm over many many years of operation, and for those visiting from overseas you may find this is your first actual authentic Hong Kong hospitality experience. There are reviews here that mention the impatience of the staff albeit the quick...to go, appetizing breakfast set - do not let this put you off; this holds true to the local experience of growing up in a quick paced environment and exchanging tibbits of daily gossip and news with overly busy staff. You will notice this when elderly people can shovel food into their mouths faster than you can say hello. If you're up for the challenge of being local, this is a great place to be for the experience (not necessarily Michelin star food quality but then again at this price range it wouldn't make sense for it to be). If not, prepare to be disappointed.More

I have been here so many times for the scrambled eggs. It is the star of the show but it also comes with spaghetti and toast which act as a filler. The staff were ok on my visit because I went with some tvb celebrities...so we got a nice seat.More

Very long queue outside, stretching the length of a few shops when we got there. I thought it would take a long wait for us to get in as there were at least 40 people in front of us in the queue, but was pleasantly...surprised to see the queue move very fast. Within 15 mins we were shown to a table. Restuarant was also very busy. Staff extremely efficient, from the guy directing people to tables at the door to the waiters who were very quick at service. The restuarant is very old style and only serves 1 type of lunch set. Toast and egg (either scrambled or fried) and a soup macaroni with roast pork or beef (can switch to spaghetti instead of macaroni). The set comes with a drink. Good price of HK46 per set. We enjoyed very much the old time environment . No pretentious atmosphere, just very natural. Food was very good. Particularly the piece of toast was very good. A unique restuarant. They even have a wiki entry and I read about the restuarant before in newspapers. Good experience. Very goodMore

Super rude waiter correcting your scrambled eggs as fried eggs. Food is seriously overrated. Had better food in other places in hk. Not worth the time and experience.

Alright so I’ve been staying in Hong Kong for quite some time now and this is always a place I would recommend my friends when they come over to visit me. I mean, they’re pretty popular themselves online for a good reason as well. In...general the food is affordable and so much tastier than what some of the local cafes can offer. Although it has become such a tourist hotspot, you’re not going to find yourself missing out of the typical Hong Kong service attitude. So if you’re looking out for a true local experience, don’t sweat it. In fact, one of my friend was a little traumatized over it, it was pretty hilarious but of course I feel for her. She had heard about how rude restaurants staffs can be in Hong Kong but she had never lived through the moment till I brought her there. For all the tourists, I’d say brace yourself for rude waiters/waitresses but you can expect a great meal at this local joint. They specialize in Macaroni Soup, Scrambled Eggs and Steamed Egg Pudding so be sure not to miss those out. Although, quite a few of my friends does find that the French Toast is pretty good as well. My favourite would be the scrambled egg. Although it is indeed a simple dish, it’s definitely not one that’s easy to master to get the texture right for everyone they serve so that’s really amazing! The scrambled egg was really creamy and you can really taste a strong buttery flavour that basically just melts right after it sits on your tongue. They often have a lunch menu for the entire set with for the Macaroni, Scrambled Eggs & Toast with a drink. It comes in slightly different variations but I always stick to this and get a glass of iced milk tea. Anyways since they have a pretty limited menu, you can expect that you’ll get consistent efforts in each one of them which is what I love the most. That’s also how they have such a quick turnover rate as most people wouldn’t take longer than half an hour in there to finish up considering your food is going to be served pretty much instantaneously after you’ve order. While keeping up to the pace of people coming in and out, here’s what literally shocked my friend, we were seated right beside the area where they have bins to compile all the dishes before it gets sent to wash. The waiter threw the dish from a distance & it ended up in the bin with a loud thud & that caught my friend off guard, she literally jumped from that it was hilarious! Well, can’t really defend them that much as that’s definitely not an action of great customer service but honestly it might also just be because they’re really busy most of the time. On some visits, they would joke with me or even chat me up a bit. Not just because I often visit them, but I’ve seen it on the others too. Lastly, for the dessert I’d highly recommend their famous Steamed Milk Pudding, really silky smooth yet custardy at the same time, best enjoyed hot. Overall, the café basically serves the typical breakfast food you can get in most places, but you’ll never quite find a place that executes it in such a manner. Honestly the eggs are just so damn addictive. You’ll always want to go back for more. Anyways to close up on what my friend was traumatized about, the cashier lady threw our change on the table. Although this is actually something to be expected as well in most cases except with a loud slam instead. She loved the food, but I guess that was a really scary experience for her. We had a good laugh in the end so all’s good. Sad to say it’s part of the culture but with the amount of customers they get every day, you’ll understand why they’re still so popular. The key to their success, is the glorious eggs.More

I love going there for a good breakfast food. The macaroni set with toast & scrambled eggs are a must (creamiest scrambled egg ever)!! If you're looking for a place to get good authentic hong kong milk tea, their iced milk tea is a great...pairing. Although a friendly warning, be prepared for one of the most intimidating service you'll probably come across. Don't mind the waiters and just focus on enjoying your food, but be careful not to overstay your welcome. The reason the food is served quickly is due to the overwhelming customers they consistently get, you'll often find that there's usually a queue for the place so be thoughtful for the others too! :)More

Injured my ankle during our holiday, wanted to try this restaurant based on the review. I was waking with a cane. Got into the restaurant, stood at the entrance for the couple of minutes hoping someone will let you know where to sit, then decided...to take the table all the way at the back by the wall because I need bit more space because of the ankle and figured the cane might be a hazard for another diners. Then this talk skinny waiter walked to our table, he looked at my cane and started yelling that my cane was in the way? ( cane was by the wall), then explained to him that I need the cane as I can’t put any weight on my right leg. This was before 10am on a Friday morning, the place was not half full. He continued yelling at us saying that we took too much space! At the end we decided to leave. We understand there were riots in HK at the time, but there is no need to pass on your anger to travellers. We didn’t cause the riot, we went there because we’ve heard the food is awesome. We will never go to this place anymore, and avoid HK when travel in Asia.More

Visited for breakfast and the place was buzzing. We were seated straight away on a table with a local couple and ordered the scrambled egg sets. Wait staff here are ridiculously fast, and food came quite quickly. The whole macaroni and soup thing is odd,...but was quite nice. The real reason the visit is the scrambled eggs.. which were unreal. Definitely check it out!More

Tried the egg sandwich. It was quite ok but overall customer service not that good, particularly if you don’t speak Cantonese. So I wouldn’t say it is a definite must try.
