I visited Gaia two weeks ago for lunch with 6 business partners and last week again with a friend of mine. Chef Paolo prepared the most amazing selection of starters , a wonderful tortelli di gallo which was better than the one you can find in Italy and an absolutely incredible Wagyu steak, melt in the mouth. The service was... More

I've not been to Gaia for years, I'm happy to report that the setting is the same, very pleasant and open Italian plaza like experience Coffee is creamy, service is attentive So much so, that we stayed for lunch. Calamari and red prawns - sort of a fritto misto - very nice and light. Pizza - not too small, hood... More

We like coming to Gaia for their thin crust pizzas. They have a pretty outdoor area with trees all around and once the neighboring buildings turn off the two big screen TVs that are glaring into the piazza (around 8pm?) it is quite romantic with all the fairy lights strung around. Last night we had dinner for four of us... More

We were party of 5, seated outside and the environment was nice. Pizzas were super tasty! Especially the one with artichoke and Gorgonzola cheese!

We visited the Gaia to meet some friends for lunch. The restaurant has an outdoor and indoor area. Although we stayed inside, the kids could run around more or less freely outside since the road is far away and with steps. The food was nice but the portions a bit small. I had fried calamari, which was not the best... More

The location and venue have not changed in over decade and some . Which to be honest is fairly and a little away from the fray which is a good thing. Food quality is of a very high standard but you have to enjoy paying for it. If you like 30 buck pizzas plus then go for it. Service to... More

I have always liked Gaia and at this time of the year, their outdoor area is delightful. However this time they tried to stuff me on the wine. If I hadn't checked the bill and been confident as to the wine, I would have paid an extra $500. They adjusted it - with a bad grace - no apology or... More

Have to say that too often Italian restaurant abroad are too expensive or too far from being truly italian. Indeed this place is truly italian; the food is tasy and have also to say the even the service is good or at least above the average of Hong Kong

I have been many times recently for lunch at Gaia, and they have now reached consistency in quality and service. It is on the expensive side, but it is worth a try. I would recommend lamb and salmon

We ate our last dinner in HK at this restaurant. It serves Italian food and had a nice menu. The food was tasteful, but not extraordinary. A tad overpriced. We sat outside, so did not get to feel the restaurant atmosphere. Our waiter had a very bad attitude, and acted very posh. He should learn not to jugde people for... More

Staying in Sheung Wan

Neighbourhood Profile
Sheung Wan
Unlike most of Hong Kong’s other popular districts, Sheung Wan welcomes wanderers with an easy-going, relaxed atmosphere. Art galleries are plentiful and boutique cafés are tucked away in every side street in the sub district known as “PoHo.” Browse through the vintage clothing and handmade leather goods stores – it’s no surprise fashionistas flock to this area. History enthusiasts will be rewarded with sites of beautiful architecture, reflecting Sheung Wan’s past as one of the earliest settlements by British forces. As night falls, the entertainment scene reveals itself to be just as laid back with its private kitchens, speakeasies and underground bars dotted throughout the area. When in Sheung Wan, everyday feels like the weekend.
