Mandarin Grill + Bar has been one of the fine dinning restaurant which we visit on special occasions. Tonight we went for a wine dinner.
The romantic atmosphere, lighting and furnitures attracted me when we entered the doorway of the restaurant. We were welcomed by smiling staff and then Teresa escorted us to the lounge area where we could have a drink while waiting for other friends to arrive. This arrangement was nice.
The dinning area was spacious, quiet and comfortable. We ordered the tasting menu which include seafood & grill meat. There were a few dishes that impressed me and my friends most:
The oysters dish came right after the starter, 4 different kinds of oysters including one of my favourite, Gillardeau. Some of them were buttery and chewy whilst the others were creamy & seawater salty. I would say, all of them, wether from UK or France, were fantastic!
I liked the Lobster bisque, creamy and rich flavour and so enjoyable with the small pieces of lobster inside the soup.
The main dish, beef Wellington, was the highlight of the evening. The serving resembled to the historic culture of dividing the whole meat and share among friends in group celebration. The fillet inside the golden crust was tender and juicy! So delicious!
Thanks to the sommelier, Justin who picked a 2009 Chenin Blanc to pair with the seafood. I could never imagine that this white wine matches so perfectly with the sole fish. We were convinced by that he arranged different wine glasses for each of our bottles.
Also, a big clap to Morgan who served us food. He clearly explained how the food were cooked and controlled the pace so well that we could fully enjoy food with the wine.
We had a wonderful evening and were highly satisfied!

With all the lockdown restrictions in place my husband and I were desperate to escape and have a nice meal out, and as expected the Mandarin Oriental Grill & Bar did not let us down. The food and service was impeccable as always, and the staff went out of their way to ensure we had a personalised experience - from adapting some of the dishes to my dietary requirements, to remembering what wine we'd ordered last time, and even placing a special message on the dessert after an off the cuff remark one of us made on arrival about an upcoming special occasion. The 4 course Sunday lunch menu really is excellent value too and full of surprises beyond your traditional roast. Most importantly, despite all the social distancing and hygiene measures, they work really hard to make you feel relaxed and give you a dose of 'normality' in these chaotic times. Thanks to all the team for a wonderful meal. We'll be back again soon!

I was impressed by their 3-course sun set menu and decided to order their full menu using HSBC premier card discount(buy 1 get 1 free) with my friend.
The menu was amazing. Even my friend who doesn't like raw food that much was able to enjoy their beef tartar. The one thing that I can find to criticize was the filling of the beef wellington being a tad salty. Other than that, it was a perfect dinner.

My wife took me here to celebrate my birthday.
We managed to secure the last beef Wellington of the night which was cooked to perfection and the accompanying sides were great. I am a big Wellington fan and this was the best one I have had.
The staff asked if we had any allergies and we advised that my wife is pregnant. A few minutes later the team brought out their signature lobster bisque whilst we waited for our beef Wellington (we were advised approx 45 mins)in case my wife was hungry. We both thought that was a very nice touch.
There is such nice ambience and decor inside and the service was faultless. A special thank you to Teresa for your hospitality and making the birthday dinner a great celebration.

Yesterday I went with husband to have the buy one get one dinner at mandarin grill and bar. The dinner is a five course dinner, every dishes are nicely executed with delicious taste. However , when it comes to the main course, which is the Slow roasted USDA beef prime rib or beef, we choose traditional thick slices, though the portion is generous but i could hardly chew even a bit. I complain to the waiter, surprisingly he said it is because I choose thick slice ! Usually when I go hotel restaurants, if the main is bad, they would recommend or offer to change dish, very unexpectedly the response that I get it is my fault choosing thick slices! Anyway, apart from that, the other four dishes are good. However, I do not have a good dining experience afterall.

Decided to come here for my boyfriend’s birthday dinner. Food was delicious as always, but what made our night truly a delight was our server, Thomson. A well executed three-course birthday dinner with impeccable service thanks to Jun at the restaurant. One of the dishes we tried to order was sold out but he immediately provided off-menu alternatives that ultimately met my partner’s somewhat narrow dietary preferences.
Jun is very knowledgeable of just about every dish on the menu so decision making for each course was somewhat easier from a fully-loaded and complicated menu.
I ordered the striploin, but I wish I ordered the beef Wellington (seems like everybody else did) which will come with an extra charge.
The Mandarin Grill is one of the very few hotel restaurants in HK that hits every note of a true 5 star hotel restaurant and sets the gold standard for the others not just in hk but in the rest of Asia.

Mandarin Grill + Bar has retained its Michelin star for many years. My friend hosted her birthday party last weekend and we truly enjoyed the journey.
We ordered a variety of dishes from the menu and here is what we ate.
The meal started with 2 types of amuse bouche, one is a beetroot coated dollop which the server kindly reminded to be eaten in one go or the beetroot juice will be splashing everywhere. Then the second amuse bouche we had was a mini risotto ball, which is also packed with mushroom flavour.
The smoked salmon is delicate and Suki sliced them up perfectly for us. The beef tartare is also a must have, it is fresh and seasoned perfectly. I detected a little bit of pickles or gherkins in the mix, it is truly fabulous and probably one of the best in Hong Kong. Lobster bisque is creamy and packed with lobster meat! The Dover Sole and the Roast is perfect. The real highlights for me are the Charcoal Grilled Wagyu and the dessert Banoffee. The Charcoal Grilled steak has intense charcoaled smokey flavor. The cut is good and it was served on a stainless steel stand where there is a bit of heating going on underneath to retain the heat.
Banoffee is excellent too, and probably the best I have ever had in my life, the caramel they put onto the banana is the thinnest and crispest I have ever tried.
The MG team serves an exciting contemporary classics. The ingredients ais amazingly fresh. The menu offers a large selection of impressive meat and seafood dishes.
I would like to thank Suki for her detailed service, she is lovely, took care of us and gave us a very memorable dinner. Thank you Manolo for making sure we are well looked after. Justin for pouring us those wonderful champagne and Ricky for all the good food you cooked for us.
It is truly an enjoyable and pleasant evening. Appreciate for all the effort your team have put into our dinner. Cheers to all your hard work at this turbulent time!

This is the first time for my family to visit the Mandarin Grill + Bar. We had a good experience with the food and service.
We ordered 3 three course sets to share and it was a perfect portion for family for 4.
We were amazed by the Beef Wellington that the beef was well cooked with medium rare. The combination of pastry, mushroom and beef was perfect.
Finally , we had the 2 soufflé with strawberry and ginger flavour for our dessert. It was one of the best soufflé in Hong Kong.
The host , who named Kenny, offered us a free tea after our dessert. When we asked about the cost for an extra soufflé (which I want to enjoy the whole soufflé by myself lol), he offered us a free chocolate soufflé!!!!!! We were so delighted and it made a perfect ending for our celebration.
We, especially my parents, enjoyed the whole meal and we thanked for the amazing food and service. We will definitely be back in months.

I have been to Mandarin Grill for a few times, I like the food and services here because they are always delivered with consistency and quality. I knew Chef Simon had created a new f/w a la carte menu so I decided to celebrate my bff’s birthday here, which was a great decision.
We started with the Pumpkin Custard, the custard was smooth and silky while the hazelnut and quinoa on top gave it a crunchy texture, it’s so perfect to put all
together in the mouth! I cannot imagine a vegetarian dish could be that tasty and complex!
We followed with the Veal Carpaccio, it’s my first time to try veal carpaccio as there are not many restaurants serve it in HK. Wow, the meat was very nice but I would say the other ingredients and seasoning just uplifted the flavour to the next level. It’s so easy for two of us to finish the whole plate.
We also had the signature caviar tin, my friend loved how beautifully it was presented and the sweetness of the corn purée just matched so well with the savouriness of the caviar.
Another surprise was the Daikon Salad. It sounded very simple but the flavour was just unbelievable! It’s definitely a must have!
We had the Kagoshima tenderloin and lobster gratin as the main course, (wow) both were so delicious! The beef was tender and juicy, and lobster was full of flavour!
Overall, my friend and I enjoyed the dinner so much, the food and service were marvellous. It’s a lovely evening to spend with my friend. I would say there’s no other restaurant that could deliver such a high quality of food and service in HK! Mandarin Grill is just outstanding and I’m sure I will go back soon! Thanks Chef Simon and the warmth and welcoming service team! I could tell you guys were delivering truly from your passion! =)

Spent 2.5 hours enjoying scrumptious food on a lovely Sunday with my father! Everything was perfect from the table by the window to the impeccable service from Thomson and Marc to of course, the food.
We got the smoked salmon which was carved table side, the lobster cocktail, the tableside prime rib, and the dessert platter (afternoon tea style). Everything tasted amazing and we were ridiculously full after. Definitely great value considering the food quality and service quality.
Service from Thomson was also a special experience - he was very attentive and kind, explaining all the food we had and how it was done. Really appreciate it and can't wait to come back!

Went to Mandarin Grill and Bar to celebrate the anniversary dinner with my girlfriend. We were arranged to enjoy the special occasion with window seat. We ordered the sunset tasting menu as we really wanted to try the beef Wellington. However, after we made the orders, we were informed that as the beef Wellington need to be ordered in advance (no one mentioned to us even when we made the reservations through email / not even mentioned in the menu) therefore we had to order something else which made us very disappointed.
The lobster bisque and steak tartare were top class and the chocolate soufflé was the best one we ever had. Service was exceptional the server (didn’t get his name) was very professional, explained each dish in detail and gave great suggestions.
Overall, it was a shame that we couldn’t try the beef Wellington, but the service and food were outstanding.

I had an amazing birthday celebration with my girlfriend in Mandarin Grill.
The table where we are led to is nicely cleaned and served. All the tableware and two greeting cards are properly placed. And the celebration started with those kind words and nice drawing that Mr. Morgan and Charles put on the cards.
We can get a nice view of the restaurant and the dinner area is big enough for two of us. The bartender, Miss Stephanie, made two special drinks for us and my girlfriend really likes it. The starter comes right after the drinks. They served different kind of bread with vinegar and butter. Personally, the brioche is the best comes with butter.
After the starter, we had high expectation on the main courses and it did not let us down. I was told that the smoked salmon dish is one of their traditional signatures. Mr. Morgan and Charles are very professional in the way of serving the dishes which really enhance the whole dinning experience. I can totally feel their hospitality. The dish comes with five different condiments and each of them deliver richer flavor to the salmon.
The other dishes are good too. The Meunière Dover Sole and the chicken breast with mousse are both well cooked. I wish I have bigger appetite to finish all of them.
It was one of my best dinning experiences with good food and surrounded with nice people.

I celebrated my birthday with my boyfriend at this restaurant and i am really enjoying my time here!Staff attitude is very polite, they smiled all the time and explained every detail when serving dishes. They were kind and offered help proactively whenever you need any help. The lunch menu is a little bit pricey but i would say it definitely worths this price with its environment, food quality and service. The starting bread tastes sooooooooo good with the butter served The soup is one of my fav too, its creamy and fresh! :D And of course dont miss its signature dish - Wellington Beef. It looked small but it was actually more than enough for two people ,we cannt even finish it ! I love the sauce , and how its skin sticking well with the beef. I would highly recommend this place anyway !

Wonderful night at Mandarin bar and grill. We first enjoyed two delicious cocktails prepared for us by award-winning mixologist Stephanie. Don’t miss out their cocktails!
Then we were sat by the window with nice view overlooking the Central city centre. They also helped us to decorate the table with fresh rose pedals. It was romantic. Restaurant was quite busy but ambience was great.
Warmly welcomed by Jennifer and her staffs. Everything was perfect complimented by wine pairing. The icing on the cake was the beautiful cheese cake for us to celebrate our anniversary. Try their house smoked salmon too! Highly recommend the A5 Wagyu on the grill. Perfectly cooked medium rare and melted in your mouth. Wonderful service from Jennifer and Kevin. Would definitely come back for more!
