Been here many times over 15 years - It's definitely out of the way in the northern reaches of Jakarta's old colonial centre, so only feasible for late evening dinners in a 30/45 minute taxi ride from from the mid-town hotels. But this place has charm and atmosphere that is otherwise impossible to find in this sprawling, overdeveloped metropolis. Once... More

I came here maybe once a year. Because it is quite far from where I live. But a visit to this restaurant is always serve as a treat. It is situated in an old building facing to the open field and museum. Pick a table by the window, which during weekend is always packed and guests are only allowed to... More

As I mentioned in the title and as I don't eat seafood, their Chicken Kungpo is the best. other side dishes are delicious as well such as stuffed tofu and fried calamari. Oh, don't order too much beverages as they'll cost you a lot for only drinks. Staffs are really nice, but they are a bit low: in taking orders,... More

The minute you step into the square which is blessedly car-free and pedestrian only you feel relaxed, and walking into Cafe Batavia just compounds it. Service is top notch (perhaps a tad over-zealous - there were more waiters than customers on the day of our visit but all were smiling and friendly). The decor is classic colonial with shutters, ceiling... More

Very colorful, and the vibes of colonial structure is visible. Incredible view of the Fatahillah Square and Fatahillah museum. The food menu is a bit pricey, but worthy to spend just a few bucks to have a memory. I tried the Crab-Mashrum soup and it was good. A must visit at least for breakfast in Jakarta.

It's located in the "Old Jakarta". You cannot imagine that you can find this restaurant in the area where it is located. It's really nice to have lunch, only a drink or a coffee. It's quite expensive, but the atmosphere is great. You can order local food or some international dishes. The meat is great!!!
