The story is as imortant as the food. Food and service is just great. I would say it best to visit in quiet moment with just a few guests. It is a popular tourist destination and the room ecco a lot.Less people better sound. In an uprising against the elite the owners of this house where thrown out of Yogyakarta... More

When the server told me the portion was big, i didnt believe it. It turned out, each menu can be shared and it supposed to be for 2, so remember not too order too many food. Ambience is old restaurant, thus it is good for foreign tourist. They also have silver shop next to the restaurant. Price food is expensive

Styled like a boutique restaurant in an old-fashioned building Sekar Kedaton serves good traditional food. The menu has many options from the local cuisine and staff is prompt and helpful. A good place to try local food, the portions are good and presentation is nice, although a bit on the pricey side. The restaurant also has a couple of shops... More

Nice environment, big restaurant, very good service, wide selection of Java, Indonesian and international meals and non-alcoholic drinks and beers (of course no wines). However all meals we had looked much better than they tasted. I don't think we will come again.

The environment is definitely describe the local etnic environment, love it. The server is very polite and informative The meal is average, with over price tag for such average taste meal. We ordered Rawon, which to sweet and they cut the beef dice way to big for Rawon beef We also ordered Selat Solo, again it's to sweet and the... More

I ate here twice for lunch while in Was in the Yogyakarta area, and both times I was satisfied with my meal. The first time I ate here I had an Indonesian egg-roll type dish for an appetizer, which was crunchy and savoury. Then I had a seafood soup with broth that wound up being a little too sour for... When you arrive at the building you expect something; it can be either kitsch or fancy. But when you step inside you will notice it is neither one of those. It is just traditional; with boring food as you can get anywhere else. No own signature. It is okay prepared food and it fills the stomach.

Nice place with good food & reasonable price. Iga brongkos is good & the portion quite big. If you order the pecel (mixed vegies with peanut sauce), make sure you tell the waiter how spicy you like your pecel. In my case, I didn't say anything; it was end up a super spicy pecel!! I complained about it & the... More

The building was soooooo beautiful. It's classic javanese collonialism architecture with superb old furnitures. the food was also nice. It serves traditional Javanese cuisine. Some of them perhaps u will find it unsuitable with ur taste because they were so unique. They served the menu in big size portion, so be careful with the amount of ur order, make sure... More

I will always eat at the restaurant whenever I visited Yogyakarta. It offers variety of Indonesian cuisines. The Iga Brongkos [ Beef Stew ] tastes so good. The ambience was really nice. There is a shop selling silver jewelries and handicraft within the restaurant compound. The service was fantastic too.
