1st visit to Whitegrass at the strong recommendation of friends. Definitely lived up to their name and their well deserving Michelin award. My favourite foods: The breads; Fushcia with the hand churned butter, and Sesame Brioche, absolutely befitting of Chef Takayu's stint in Paris. I...like also his delicate use of edible plants and flowers. That maple leave... taste so yummy, a perfect accompaniment for the coconut sorbet and chestnut puff. My favourite is the fish with scales deep fried to a crunchy crisp yet the fish remains succulent and tender! Wow. Family At the end of the lunch experience, Chef Takuya came and took a photo with us and also presented us with a hand signed anniversary congratulatory note. Much loved. Felt like a traditional family run business... Naz and his well trained wait staff, Wendy and Vincent introduced the award winning Haruka umeshu. My next booking fixed What a pleasure to dine there. Looking forward to my next visit in 3 weeks time.More

This was our second time at the restaurant. We were impressed by the carefully selected ingredients and absolutely delicious food. The ambience was great and so was the service! Came for lunch upon recommendation to celebrate a friend's birthday. French Japanese cuisine. Food was prepared by Japanese chef,Takuya, who previously worked in Paris for a few years. The freshly baked bread reflected his stint in France. It was delicious, soft on the inside but...crispy on the outside. The butter that came with it tasted different too. The menu changes 4 times a year depending on the season. We had the autumn menu. I selected the Executive set comprising 4 courses. I chose seasonal mushrooms for appetiser. It was sautéed and served with poached egg yolk. For soup, I selected Lily bulb potage with lightly seared Iberico ham. It was very flavorful. I had fish for main course. It smelled fishy when served even though it was pan-fried but tasted fabulous! The fish was done just right and I could taste the jelly which was probably the fats. My friend had the French Veal cheek which literally melted in the mouth! Extremely tender and juicy. For dessert, I picked the Sudachi which was sour and sweet. Very nice tangy lemon flavour and perfect ending for a satisfying lunch. Service was good and staff were friendly. Will be back to try the winter menu.More

We had lunch at Whitegrass for a birthday celebration. I'd say that the experience is beyond our expectations. We were amazed by the Amuse-bouche, which was presented like Bonsai. We also like Lily Bulbs, Botan Ebi, Poisson du jour, and Maple Leaf Duck. They may...work a bit more on deserts, which were good but not so memorable. At last, we'd like to thank Chef Takuya for the special birthday cakes. We wish the team can keep the standard and go beyond Michelin 1 -star soon.More

This is a place you wanted to go if food is not the only thing you looking for. Very good service n experience throughout the course.
