Wanted to eat at Ah Tai 2 stalls away but they were closed as the cook was injured. Tried Tian Tian next door and truly regretted. Attitude of their staff was very poor. Additionally, they don't serve soup, ginger and dark soya sauce. They also...refused to give more chili sauce even though my order was SGD35. What kind of Singapore chicken rice store is this? Being a Singaporean, I am ashamed of the overall proposition. VERY SAD INDEED AND NEVER GO BACK.More

Their hainanese chicken rice is absolutely great. The chicken and its broth mixed with the rice are great combination.

The food is all right, not super. They seem to be hurrying customers along, so you do not get to customise the sauces you want. Other stalls will allow you to take, in addition to chilli sauce, dark soy sauce and ginger sauce. However here...there was only chilli sauce. The service was rather cold. Price of $6 is rather expensive for chicken rice. Can get a better deal elsewhere.More

Very good chicken rice but honestly no difference from Ai Hai’s place, which is located 2 stalls down. I think people flock here due to the world recognition but I prefer going to Ai Hai’s since it gives you additional sauces without the long line.

Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice was on my list of places to eat while in Singapore. It's located in the Maxwell Food Centre and is one of many chicken & rice stands found in Singapore. Not only is it a Michelin Bib Gourmand recognized food...stand, it's also a spot where Anthony Bourdain frequented when he visited Singapore. We arrived after the lunch rush were the line was short. My husband grabbed a table while I went to order. I ordered the regular Hainanese chicken rice for us to share, since I wasn't sure if we wanted to eat more elsewhere or not. They had utensils next to the trays. You queue up, pay in cash when you order, get your ticket, give your ticket to the pick-up window, and go sit down. It's pretty straight forward if you ask me. The chicken is piled on top of the rice and the chili sauce is on the side. When they serve it to you, they pour the brown sauce over the chicken and rice. I kind of wish they had given me more of that chili sauce because it really elevated the dish. The chicken was moist and the rice was flavorful. I was super happy with the dish. There's nothing more comforting than chicken & rice to me. My husband and I gobbled it up and we loved it so much, we went back for a second plate. So, I got back in line and paid for another plate. It was one of my favorite meals in Singapore to date. One thing to note, you need to bring your own napkins or tissues because they don't offer any to customers. Bring your own water bottle or pay for drinks at nearby stands. You and always wash your hands at the nearby restrooms.More

This stall came highly recommended, so despite a long queue of about 15 minutes, we decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a shot in our own foot. The food was not terrible but definitely nowhere near the hype. We...ordered steamed chicken rice — rice didn’t taste oily, chicken was tender but lacked flavour. Not sure if all chicken rice stalls in Singapore do this, but there was no skin on the chicken. Chilli was bang average.More

Outstanding chicken rice, well worth the hype. Cheap too for the quality. Go early and avoid the queues as we did. Worth it.

Food was very average, satays were burnt, they missed one of our dishes and the beer wasn’t cold. Apart from that……. Give it a miss. Also, very expensive

Back for the first time after the pandemic. Outrageous long line and the guy in front of us sneezed a great one without a mask on or covering himself. I think that was how we caught the virus a couple of days later. Back to...the food, it was great as usual, as I have reviewed before, similar to Ah Tai. Service was much better this time around though, the auntie was nice and helping us to get everything that we ordered. We were lucky to have found a table for the five of us and able to enjoy the food in comfort. The whole chicken was tender and tasty, just wish they have choices in veggies. All of us enjoyed our lunch here.More

Please do not buy the juice stand 34, they are very rude, actually beyond rudeness I have ever seen. My kid and I ordered food next to their stand, and eat the table front. But they claim our stroller block their way. And I said...I understand it and will move. But they just want me to fold it. And I told them do not touch my stroller. And they start like go back your f* China, do you understand my English? Please, please, don't support their business, cause they didn't worth it. More

Yes it’s good chicken and rice. But in truth so is pretty much every chicken and rice place in Singapore. Is this place leagues better than others? No. Is it even just a bit better? No. The difference is just a nuance…there’s a place about...seven stores down to the right, can’t remember the name right now (as you look at this joint)…no queue, cheaper, just as good. Would I stand in the 15 minute queue for this place again. No. Would I eat if there wasn’t a queue. Yes. Am I happy that I stood in the queue once and ate here. Yes. Do the folks here know they are world famous. Yes. Does that mean the extra that they charge is worth it. No. Do I get a hello and smile with me order. No. Go. And you’ll be able to say I was here.More

This is the place inside Maxwell Food Center. The Andrew Bourdain recommended, Michelin Bib Gourmand awarded Hainanese chicken hawker stall. The lineup is INSANE!!!! Around the corner and goes all the way back. It took about 30 minutes to just get near the food stall....It was very good. Tasty but it is still just a Hawker stall (food truck food). If you are fortunate to find a table, it is still a dirty table in a hawker center. We went with a group of locals, they love this place but they say there are better options if you consider the long wait. We are glad we did it. The locals love the chicken with their hot sauce. We did too. Keep your expectations in check. It is not fine dining. It is street food. Tasty food but still just street food.More

Looks like over-priced and over-rated. Didn’t experience much of a difference from the usual chicken rice served elsewhere in Singapore. Chilli is about right in terms of sourness and spiciness. Rice was a tad harder than I would have liked. Texture/smoothness of chicken is about...right. Would have given a 3-star rating based on these, but for the service which was slow.More

My usual stop over after I land in Singapore (for an early arrival flight) is to drop by Maxwell food court for a much anticipated hearty chicken rice... (yes! even before checking in hotel) Even though this eatery has an overseas branch in Hong Kong,...I have never visited them... partly because I do not want to be disappointed as I do not think it will meet my expectations of its home base flavour, and partly because I usually have other cravings when I am at home. All I can say about this Tian Tian Chicken rice is the tenderness of the chicken, even if you are having chicken breast. Two guys can easily finish one whole chicken, but we are big eaters... And the chilli sauce is the perfect condiment for this dish. Downside to this food establishment is that you will need to line up for at least 30 mins, if you are going around 11am, when they open... and they close when its sold out, which could be anytime during the day... Lucky I have a good local friend to start lining up after I leave Changi airport ... Also, it is in a food court so, it is not in the most comfortable environment and temperature... and I am not a takeaway person as I do not believe the flavour can be maintained as compared to eating at their place. If I keep coming back to this every time I visit Singapore, there must be something that they are doing right... looking forward to my next visit already!More
