Lots of good local food here. However with the good food comes long queue. You can just follow the queue to know which is the good ones. During meal times, the moderate queues are about 30 minutes before you get to order.

We went here on the recommendation of a Singaporean and so glad we did. Authentic food court which is also one of the biggest I have yet come across in Se Asia apart from one in Kuching in Borneo, the name of which escapes me. This is the hidden side of Singapore. What could be more refreshingly different from the tourist version of Singapore. Here you will find stall after stall selling authentic foods from all across Asia. Although predominantly Chinese you will also find stalls specialising in both Indian and Malay cousine serving an ethnically diverse community. The atmosphere is frenetic, busy, noisy, buzzing and friendly. Above all prices here are reasonable unlike most of the rest of Singapore which is somewhat expensive. I had an oyster omelette which was wonderful. Whilst waiting for my food the stall owner happily posed for a few pictures for me.

Old Airport Road Hawker / Food Center has so many selections of very good hawker foods, make it a must visit when you’re in Singapore. There are so many delicious foods here so you can come here every week if you want. Some of my favorites are Toa Payoh Rojak, Nyonya Chendol, Roast Paradise, Fish Soup, Char Kway Teow and many others… to avoid long queue at some favorite stalls try coming before or after lunch time (11 am or 1:30 or 2 pm)….

OAR Hawker has quite a few popular stalls with long Qs most of the time and this LFZ Char Kway Teow is 1 of the famous stall which always has a long Q. I have not been for at least more than 6 mths and to my horror and disappointment, I queued for about 35 mins and I was shocked to see that they have increased their price to minimum $5 / pkt!! Mind you, the portion is not alot and its definitely not worth $5 for a Char Kway Teow. If not becos I have Queued for 30mins to discover the increased in price, i would have given it a miss if I have seen the increased in price before I Q! So I tot , since I have queued for 30mins, might as well give it a shot and tis will be my LAST shot!! The next price after $5 is $8 & $10 respectively. I saw some customers ordering $8 and the portion is similar to $5 but with a few extra prawns added to it! Shakes head ....Moreover, the taste of the Char Kway Teow is no long like before and it has a burnt taste! Sigh ...

This is one of the better food centres / hawker centres in Singapore. Here you will find good fried Hokkien mee, prawn noodles (dry or soup), char siew/roast meat, lor mee, western food, satay, rojak, etc, all under one roof. If you were to visit in a large group on a weekend lunchtime, be prepared to wait for a table and queue a while for food if you are buying from the more popular stalls.
Definitely worth a visit.

After an excellent day one we were on our way for the second one. A short walk to the Old Airport Rd Food centre for breakfast was a good way to start it.
The place had a sizeable amount of people at that early hour. Quiet a few in their excercise attire. A reasonable amount of them like us, getting an early feed before heading off for the day. And another section was there to buy breakfast and go back home to serve it.
Wandered around the place and saw a line at the stall Guan Kee Cooked Food. Waited in line for around 12-15 minutes and settled for a Bee Hoon with fried tofu and fried egg. The boss meanwhile had gone off and gotten a couple of sets of Kaya toast from the Toast Hut. She'd also ordered a coffee from there. But was not too keen on it because it was too strong for her liking. She ended up going for another soy rose milk and a soy bean curd with almonds to end her breakfast.
There was birds flying around in this place too. Was scared of the effect of birds on the food hygiene when I first encountered it at Tekka centre yesterday, but after having seen them at lunch and today morning am beginning to not think about it.
The food was great. The bee hoon full of flavour from the sauces, the accompaniements went down well with them.
The kaya toast was crunchy, buttery and sweet and was lovely to sop up the soft boiled eggs with.
The soy rose milk was not too sweet and the curd with almonds was just perfect. The curd soft and luscious and the almond flavour through it was so subtle.
Will need to come back here, apparently, because there's a stall that makes fresh curry puff's and they only start their operations at 10am. They were still just getting their preparations done when we went there.

This was definitely in our top 3 hawker halls for this trip. There is SO much choice and we had some of the yummiest food of all here. The chicken wings and the Char kway teow are LIT. If you are a tourist wanting an authentic hawker experience with delish food this is the place to be. If you struggle with making decisions when it comes to what you want to eat go somewhere else cause this place has options for DAYS.

My friend and I came here becaused we wanted to find some cheap food to eat. I was amazed at the huge variety of food stalls here. It was also very clean. One small downside for me was that a lot of of the stalls seemed to be selling seafood which I was not keen on. However I was able to find food that I was happy to eat at a good price. Seating was also available so we could sit down and eat. Highly recommended for those wanting a 'local' food experience.

This hawkers center is located at Old Airport road in Paya Lebar area. It does have so many varieties of foods and dishes, some of them are really good such as Nonya Chendol, Toa Payoh Rojak and many others - those stalls are one of the best hawkers in Singapore.
Ambience is very basic, and usually very crowded. Be prepared for a long queue for the favorite stalls.
It’s truly worth the visit for food lovers while in Singapore.

I absolutely love the Old Airport Road Food Centre because this is really the place that I grew up in since I was young, and there are really plenty of good food here that I can really go on and on to review!
1) Xing Li Cooked Food
They have one of the best Oyster Omelette around here!! Really love that the ratio of the Egg is so much more than the starch! The Oysters are really fresh and there isn't much on the fishy taste at all!! Some tip for people who want to try this is that the uncle cooks the Oyster Omelette by batches. Which means you have to catch him when he is just done, so he will cook your batch next. Otherwise, it's more waiting! But it's definitely worth the wait!
2) Western BBQ
This stall sells western food as what the stall name says. I will usually order the mixed grill. The unique selling point of this stall lies in the following:
- Special Garlic Sauce
- Generous portion of meat
- Classic old school butter bun
Enough said, just TRY!
3) Freshly Made Chee Chong Fun
This stall is one of the stalls I will go if I am craving for something lighter 9Eg: Porridge or Chee Chong Fun) The lady boss makes these from Scratch so rest assured it will be fresh!
Other other honorable mentions: Lotus Bao (Located at the extreme left stall from the main entrance facing the road side), Wanton Noodles (Few stalls away from the Bao stall), Roast Paradise and Satay!!

This popular food centre tends to get very crowded during meal times. You will see very long queues in front of the local favourites, like Lor Mee, Nam Sing Fried Hokkien Mee, Rojak, Fried Kway Teow, Prawn noodles, Wanton noodles, Nyonya Chendol, beef Kway Teow, Chuan Kee Satay, Claypot rice, the list goes on. There are also stalls selling yummy banana fritters, soya bean pudding, and Thai food. The problem is, it is not possible to try all the good food in one go! You will need to visit this place a few times to best decide which dishes you enjoy best: but it is definitely a must visit!

Toa Payoh Rojak, Dong Ji Fried Kway Teow, xin mei xia lor mee, tiong bahru lor mee, Whitley road prawn noodle, Nam Sing Hokkien noodle, To-Ricos Guo Shi or Kway Chap, Hua Kee Hougang Famous Wanton Noodle, Crocodile Kingdom (for exotic and asthma healing), Yi Ji Fried Hokkien Noodle (Spicy). Top ten stores from my point of view. Everyone will have a different take.

Delicious simple food. I ordered from food delivery. Century egg pork porridge from Xin Bee Congee (#01-191) & fried carrot cake (#01-26) . Both are delicious! The porridge is very traditional hainanese style, tasty and smooth. Large pieces of century egg and pork balls. It also comes with fried dough stick. The carrot cake is so fragrant and not too oily. It comes with generous amount of Cai po and egg. 2 thumbs up!

Geylang
Only a short journey from Singapore’s sparkling and polished city centre, Geylang is a world away. Here in one of the least touristy areas of Singapore, visitors are privy to an unfiltered glimpse of Singapore life. On Sunday afternoons, migrant workers gather in Geylang to let off steam after a tough week. At the eastern end of Geylang Road, families and friends happily enjoy picnics. By contrast, at the western end, a more colourful side of Singapore can be seen, as street workers mingle with Sunday revelers in outdoor coffee shops. Take a friend, grab a beer and a local meal (frog porridge, perhaps?), and settle in to enjoy the show.
