Delicious: Foie gras mousse on toast, sakura ebi pasta, grilled octopus, lamb with pita, tiramisu (light airy) , apple pie with rum raisin ice cream (right balance of taste)
Mushroom soup was nothing to shout about, tasted the same as what you could get everywhere else so one can skip it. Same for the Chilean sea bass and duck confit.
Staff are courteous and responsive - good job, keep it up! Speed of delivery of dishes can be faster. Although it is good to serve the dishes one after another, the time gap between dishes was very long despite 5 staff in the kitchen. Will be great if this can be improved so that guests do not have to wait very long for the next dish.

We have been here several times, plus many more at the previous chinatown location. Still pretty good food throughout. Starters and pastas are in small portions. The latter are very good and they are famous since chinatown days. Mains are larger. Back to smaller portions for desserts

Royalty service. Food was excellent. Service was the gold standard. Exceptional mention to the hostess with the mostest Miss Sabrina. Personable, attentive, professional. Definitely a place for regular visits for opulent dining and great blissful chill atmosphere. Great job. Thank you.

A casual eatery located next to a walkway on the ground floor of the Downtown Gallery, so lots of noise. The set lunch is reasonably priced, but portions are small (actually, quite minuscule for the appetizers). Food is good but certainly not memorable. The best thing about this place is the friendly service staff!

An evergreen from previous incarnation of Ember restaurant

They have a $56 set menu which is great value, as the portions are generous. The seabass is good as always

We were turned away even if we reached the restaurant a lot earlier than their closing time.
Their explanation was the restaurant is not too busy so they will close the kitchen earlier.

If there is a place which offers a perfect combination of food and friends, it is this restaurant. I love her open concept, not only the kitchen and also the dining area. People watching, usually outdoors; took on a different meaning.
The menu was already laid down on the table and ordering was easy. Whilst waiting for my friends to arrive, I ordered the Burnt Toast, which was literally that. It was alright for the price, but personally I felt it could do with more “spice”. Dinner for me with the Tomato Soup and the Spatchcock. Both were cooked to perfection and tasty.
The service crew was attentive and did a good job taking care of our table.

So glad to find this restaurant located below the Oakwood hotel i was staying at. There are limited dinner options around this area so I decided to give it a try - best decision ever. The menu is just a piece of paper - apparently they change it frequently. The hand-cut pasta was cooked just right and really tasty. The pear dessert was also very good, just remember to order in advance as it takes at least 15-20 minutes.

An excellent lunchtime choice with very friendly, attentive and helpful staff and a wholesome menu to choose from! Dishes are big enough to share. Our lunchtime choice included Chilled Romanesco Salad, Duch Ragout Pasta & Braised Lamb Foreshank, which was particularly good. Had Burnt Toast on the side too. I really hope they keep up with the standards.
PS. Get in early at lunchtime as it gets pretty busy!

My mentor is one who enjoys good food and wine. When she knows I enjoy cold pasta, she insisted of bringing me to Venue by Sebastian. Recently (11 March), we made a reservation for 2 for lunch and was disappointed to know the cold pasta was only for the dinner venue.
Nevertheless, she requested the item from the service staff and the staff checked with the kitchen and they were able to make the dish for us (we had an early reservation at 1130am hence the restaurant was not crowded YET).
We had an enjoyable meal with superb service as the restaurant slowly filled up to its brim.
Yesterday, we decided to go for impromptu tapas and wine (at Venue by Sebastian) after our lunch at Raffles Xchange , despite the restaurant being super crowded (around 1+pm), the service staff greeted us with a warm smile and cleared a counter table for us promptly when one became available.
As the restaurant was super busy, they could not accede to our request for the cold pasta this time round, but we still enjoyed our wine and cauliflowers very much as the service by Ms Yue Er was impeccable. Her service was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu items. I had left my charging wire in the car and needed to charge my less than 10% charged mobile phone urgently (fear that my child who was on the way home from school may need to speak to me), when I requested if Ms Yue Er could do me a favour and help me borrow a charging wire, she sprang into action (despite being super busy with her table duties) and appeared with one the very next moment.
When a restaurant has amazing food coupled with exceptional service, it makes one want to go back. Despite not working in the CBD, I am pretty sure we will be back for more good food and service (soon!).

Went there 3 evenings in a row! Didn't let me down once. I'd go again tomorrow but I'm leaving. Attractive venue - comfortable seats, good sized tables and privacy from fellow diners. Friendly and attentive service but also discrete. The food was excellent, seriously impressive and very good value - I've paid much more for less impressive food in a lot of the world's leading cities not just Singapore. The imaginative and winning combinations are cooked with immense skill - perfectly cooked seabass, light as a cloud cauliflower fritti; velvet smooth warm valrhona chocolate mousse (to die for!) amongst other things and the flavours just sing out and all attractively served on lovely region specific plates and bowls. (I wouldn't like to state that they were 'handmade' and of contemporary eastern design but they certanly looked it)

Food has remained consistently good. This time around we tried the asparagus, zucchini falafel, cod and mushrooms. All the dishes were really well cooked and flavourful.
It’s a bit noisy so it’s good for a casual business lunch.
