My very first time trying Greek food and I love every thing that we ordered. Being there with my closest friends was amazing but the staff made our night even more memorable. A huge shout out to MK (or Kartik ... sorry if I spelt your name wrong). It was a busy night for the restaurant. He was handling our section and he was jumping from table to table but yet everytime he came around, he will have this great energy with a big smile making small talks and recommending us food. He answered all our questions with so much patience. He is so genuine and an great asset to Bakalaki! Thank you for an amazing night! We will be back!

Had our team dinner here. Ambience was very good. Big space and suitable for big groups. If you are not sure what to eat, sure not an issue as the staff can suggest an excellent menu for the entire team or even if you are dining alone. Just inform your preference and they serve accordingly. Except the pita bread, rest everything was excellent. Would definitely suggest. Would be a bit on the higher end of the budget. All their cheese is commendable! Definitely can come back just for their cheese based dishes. Recommended.

This restaurant is good for casual dining. The tables aren’t too close together so conversation is easy. The food is what you’d expect to find in a Greek restaurant. It was tasty but I felt things were a tad expensive for what you got. 2 tiny pieces of spanakopita as a starter is priced at $17.90 and I suspect that these weren’t freshly made in the restaurant but likely a frozen product…not value for money. This is the same for a small bowl of tzatziki ( $15.90), probably made in house but overpriced for the amount served. What was better value was the wine. We had an excellent bottle of red for $88.90. And we had a leisurely dinner. Despite the restaurant being quite busy we weren’t rushed.

Please SKIP THIS PLACE. We were sorely disappointed. Both by the food and service. $52++ for a mediocre, bland fish felt like daylight robbery. The chicken skewers somewhat saved the dinner, but honestly nothing to shout about. This was our second time visiting this place. Service was ‘meh’, borderline terrible. I’m not expecting much, but the faces and tone of voice of the service staff there really grates me. It felt like they were frustrated that you came and they had to serve you. Literally didn’t feel welcomed at all. Waiter spilled a bottle of water all over the table next to us, which spilt on the floor and my shoes and bag. He didn’t apologise to them or us🙄. I don’t know, maybe they had a hectic day or something, but seriously, improve on how you speak to people. Will not come back. Period.

Second time here and was hoping to have a great lunch after our fair dinner experience on a previous occasion. But we left hugely disappointed: 1. Service wasn’t warm or friendly, but transactional. Can still let this pass, not a big deal if the food is worth it. Alas… 2. We ordered the taramosalata to begin with, dip was ok, a bit salty for our palette, but it’s the nature of this dip. However, we found the bread a bit dry and were hoping it would have been served warmed at least. 3. Next was chickpea salad which was hearty, but the seasoning was a tad underwhelming. Still can discount it as the table has salt and pepper shakers to put to use. 4. The Kalamaki merida- (chicken skewers) was also served cold and the presentation itself was so unappealing. The pita underneath the meat was tough, and with everything being served cold, it just made it even more unappetising. The chicken was tough, dry, chewy…the tzatziki was just a tiny dip dish which couldn’t salvage the dryness, we just hurried through the protein cos we were hungry and left the breads. Not to mention the tables are up close and we couldn’t find the ambience enjoyable too. One of the most difficult meals to get through.

Food was good, staff was attentive, we had a great time! We ordered the fish and it was a great one. Beef skewer was good, just one tiny suggestion, maybe the pita bread that comes along can be served aside without soaking up the juice and oil from the beef skewer as towards the end the bread became a little soggy. The staff recommended 2 smaller serving of dips with pita bread, it was really lovely. Both food and people are great. Can’t remember the staff name, was an Asian Guy, on the bill it written Nikos. He was good on recommending us dishes and serving. Will be back!

My experience at Bakalaki was fantastic. Went there for a Sunday lunch. My partner told me that you need to make a reservation one month in advance. We ordered a Greek salad, lamb chops, chicken kebab, and the famous grilled octopus. Food was authentic and flavourful. Portions were also big enough for sharing. I particularly like the service of Victoria, a naturalised Russian waitress, who speaks in a local accent. She suggested to us on the portions (e.g. go for half serving of Greek salad and if we want 2, 3 or 4 pieces of lamb chops). In fact, she also taught us how we can mix and match the kebab and dips. For once, I felt contended paying for service charge, and the service rendered was worthy of a mentioned. I have already gathered my friends to return there for our end of year meeting.

We travelled 15 mins each way to go to this restaurant being Greek-Australians and we had scouted out this restaurant wanting to support fellow Greeks. The service was rude & blunt. We tried engaging with the owner by speaking in Greek, and honestly it was like speaking to a person in another language. We have had the most magnificent experiences here in Singapore with Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Korean and Singaporean restaurants and we have felt so welcome and at home with these other restaurants, but funnily enough in our own cultured restaurant we felt like foreigners. Not only that, but the food was cold, not authentic and extremely overpriced. We go to Greece every year and have never experienced this low level of service and high prices to buy a gyro. It cost us $115 AUD to have 2 gyros, saganaki, a Coke Zero and a small Greek salad? We wouldn’t of minded if it was good, but it was honestly mediocre. If you’re a Greek or non-Greek wanting to find the friendly Greek hospitality and culture that the Greeks are known for, you won’t find it here. The only thing this restaurant had going for them is that they played nice Greek music.

One must plan ahead to get a booking at Bakalaki, and for good reason: it's awesome. We have eaten here more than 10 times by now and every plate of food, every time we go is just delicious. The service is excellent. Although this is not an inexpensive place to eat, the prices are very fair and the value is excellent. Average cost per adult for a great meal with adult beverages was about $75 per person. In Singapore, that's great value.

What a great Greek restaurant ! In Singapore. The calamari just like Greece. In fact from Greece. Better than anything in our hometown of Seattle. Need a reservation. Very crowded and popular. Worth the 3 $$$. Ouch was 150. Skip alcohol. They comped ice cream from Greece so rich needed cherries to cut the richness. I highly recommend you call, reserve, enjoy

Overall a great place to do brunch for team lunches. Love their food and ambience. However, service quality is inconsistent between different staff. While one lady was very nice, an elderly gentleman was a bit smug and borderline rude, even if he didn't mean to. Perhaps some coaching to be courteous to customers who spend $400++ in a sitting is worth your time? Also, please add more vegetarian food in the menu.

Food was great but service was shockingly indifferent given the price point. Our waiter was completely disinterested and inattentive from the get go. It seemed like our presence was an imposition to him. Requests for cutlery and wine were unheeded and when the items did arrive were sloppily served.

On the ground floor of St. Martins apartment is this nice Greek tavern restaurant. Popular and reservations is a must. Friendly staff and recommend their dishes too! We had a platter of pita bread with 3 different kinds of dips; hummus, yogurt and egg plant! It was delicious and enough to share with 5 of us! The Greek salad was excellent, quite refreshing with their greens, tomatoes, cucumber, lemon and olive oil mix altogether. We had a seafood platter of grilled octopus, calamari and 2 large prawns. Octopus and squid rings were cooked perfectly. Their chicken skewers weee tasty as well as their grilled sea bass was delicious! Prices was mid to high range.

Best thing about the place is the fit out which is quite a hit from Singapore . The greek style food is quite bland compared to the greek for Ive tried before in other countries . It's boring and lazy cuisine to me. I think the sauces cover up the so so ingredients. The service is very ordinary- despite being only half full we were constantly trying to get people's attention and we left with the impression that ordering was inconveniencing the servers. Overall , if you ate here when on a holiday and not sure where else to go, it's a safe bet (although quite pricey) but not a slick fine dining place.

Unnecessary stress, unprofessional and poor service. My husband and I love the food here so when I was assigned to organize our team dinner for 15pax, I immediately called them to make a reservation. I called one week in advance as I know reserving for a big group is challenging and booking for large group is often received via call only. They confirmed my reservation right then and there. Two days ago prior to the team dinner, I called them to ask if I can add one more pax. To my surprise, they said that there’s no such reservation and that they can’t accommodate it on our agreed date. I even asked if there are other options, but they bluntly just said ‘no we cannot’ without offering any amicable settlement then hang up. That was very rude. And I didn’t even hear a single sorry. They weren’t apologetic at all. I hope they’ll have better reservation system in place soon.
