Hidden gem for extremely affordable semi-buffet lunch.
Yes $28++ for choice of main course (mostly Asian staples like laksa, curry) and all access buffet counter for soup, salad and desserts.
Starting with soup:
1) Asian Pork Rib and Pear Soup was as good as Other proper Chinese restaurants, and had the homely taste of Grandma’s secret recipe. I had a second helping (no regrets accordingly to my tongue, but belly later regretted - stay tuned for why)
2) Angmo style carrot soup was sweet and silky but not overly thinned down. Decent but nothing to write home about.
Salad bar:
3) Legit health food frenzies here will be elated with their full range of barley, quinoa, sweet potato, roasted pumpkin, 4 kinds of greens, nuts/seeds, tofu etc etc. if I need to spend $12 for a decent salad from other salad bars, I’d rather spend $28+ to get the extra frills.
Mains:
4) ok this was where my tummy started to rebel, cause I got too greedy with the second helping of pork rib soup and all that good ol veggies. I thought I could chow down the curry chicken but no, I was already full. But that’s at no fault of Sky22…the chicken skin was nicely marinated with turmeric and spices. Curry was flavourful. Achar was another delight. I just didn’t have space to fit more food. I also had to taste a small portion of laksa from my aunt’s order which meant further overcrowding of food in my Tum. Laksa gravy was thick and nice. Sorry for the curt and lackluster feedback here, but I’ll be mindful to pace myself next time.
Desserts:
5) Despite all that, I made a tiny outpost for dessert in my belly. Bread and butter pudding - crusty on top, pillowy soft inside, not too sweet. Chocolate cookie which I had for my tea (to help with digestion) was great too. Tried a lemon cake/muffin like thing but it was hard (the only disappointment of the day).
There was 4 ice creams/sorbets available but I had to give them a miss this time.
The sky view was a lovely bonus, but the decor of the space felt more like an atas canteen. But hey, at $28++….I wouldn’t complain!

Dear Cech3288,
Thank you for taking the time to pen this detailed review. It pleases us to know that you found your bang for buck at our daily Semi-Buffet Lunch.
On the week of your visit, we also served Miso-Braised Wagyu Beef Cheek, Baby Back Ribs, Fish & Chips, and Steak Frites. But we surmise that you and your aunt were craving a kick of local spice and aroma. We are glad to know that we delivered.
Plans are underway to give Sky22 a facelift. Do come back before we close for renovations to enjoy this satisfying dining experience with family and friends. We look forward to hosting you soon!
Warm Regards,
Courtyard Singapore Management

I like bringing friends to Sky22 for lunch as it is usually not too crowded and there is a great view from the restaurant. The set lunch is reasonable though if you want the steak, you have to pay more for it. The set comes with a soup/salad and a dessert. Would be great if they could throw in a coffee/tea.

We visited Sky 22 previously when it had a peranakan theme dinner. That was quite good - they were generous with the amount of food and it was quite authentic though they didn't have chilcken buah keluak. This time, it was a Mediterranean theme. Some hits and misses. There were four of us so we had the set with 2 appetizers and four main courses. The octopus starter was Ok - the octopus meat was firm and the bread with some sort of a dip were delicious. However, considering it was meant for 4 persons and the ingredients are not that expensive, I thought the Greek salad amount was a bit stingy. Main course wise, the fish and chips was fine, the chicken dish was Ok though it came with the bread and dip as the starter, the minced beef stew was OK. The highlight for me was the lamb shank as it was tender. However, note that you need to pay an extra $6 for this main course. Dessert wise, the earl grey creme brulee turned out to be a pleasant surprise though not sure why it was considered a Mediterranean dessert. The french toast was rather stodgy and we were not sure what to make of it.

Availed of the $22++ lunch set available everyday (even on weekends) ... it's good value - food is good, the view is nice and the service attentive. There's also flexibility to change the dessert in the set to either coffee or tea. Otherwise, there's a 20% chope voucher (or coupon available downstairs at the lobby) that can be used for a la carte items.

First time dining at Sky22, and brought my mum along as she had medical appointments to fulfil in the vicinity. Helpful wait staff introduced the set lunch as well as the ala carte menu. Roast pork belly main was delicious. The Perch fish dish was delicious too but the fish was overcooked. My mum loved the carrot soup in the set. The brownie dessert was a tad dry on the outside but moist to taste in the inside. Good with the vanilla ice cream. Had problems dealing with my Marroitt Bonvoy app, but eventually after explaining 3 x to 3 different staff, Ms Fiona managed to eventually solve the mystery for me when she called to HQ to inquire on my behalf. Thus bringing a most frustrating end to the meal to one of relief.

After 18 months of home delivered meals we thought we had seen it all. But then the name Marriott was tantalizing and we gave it a shot.
The online ordering process was hassle-free - even for a 70 year-old. And delivery was fast and exactly on time. Tracking was realistic. Packaging was excellent. Most importantly. the food was delicious, authentic (local as well as Western styled) and as fresh as from the kitchen.
The seabass (my wife's) was superbly prepared. Wedges are still hot and crispy. And the flavoring just right.
My curry chicken was really good and with the right spices (turmeric) and meat was tender and fully flavored. Just the way it should be with Nasi Bryani

We had dinner at Sky22 in March 2023. The view of Singaproe skyline was great, but, alas, the food was only so-so. We ordered half-dozen satay (mix of chicken, beef and mutton), Tiger Prawn Laksa Lemak and Wagyu Beef Cha Kway Teow. The satay was the best of the 3, not as greasy and fatty than most. the prawns of Laksa Lemak were ok, but the laksa flvour was weak (Prima has better laksa mix than theirs), and the Kway Teow lack the wok hey (wok flavour) you get from traditional wok frying.

Food was crappy, overpriced. Seabass was fishy. Had to use copious amounts of Tabasco sauce to cover the fishiness of the seabass. Set lunch for $22++ doesn’t seem worth it at all. Not recommended at all... There are other better food at Novena Square and Velocity mall...

We went for their semi buffet lunch to celebrate Valentine’s Day(14/02/2020). The price was affordable and the food was delicious especially the pasta and fish fingers from the kid’s menu! (We brought our 2 yrs old toddler along).
Chef John Chye was very friendly too!
Love the cozy atmosphere and the amazing view from the restaurant!

So we live nearby and got an excuse to finally try out Sky22 when they announced a new menu.
There were some hits and misses to be honest. For instance, we enjoyed the char siew empanadas, deftly baked so that the puff pastry casing was not soggy and the char siew filling was strong and flavourful. A real winner, especially with the dipping condiment. Addictive stuff.
We had to give their laksa a go since it was a chef's recommendation. It's certainly was a feeder and the curry was thick and moreish but pity the prawns served alongside were chewy and rubbery, a sign that they must have simmered those lovely biggies in the sauce too long.
I was hankering for a good lamb dish and their lamb shank shouted out to me. The meat got a respectable braise. Tender and still juicy. It was just a pity that the flavour of the meat got masked by an overwhelming amount of chunky gravy. It sounds perhaps odd to call the sauce a gravy but it was just that, a little rough and the sauce did not actually elevate the dish. I found myself pushing it all to the side to get to the meat.
The most creative of all perhaps was the kaya toast. Their atas rendition of it was foie gras terrine(in place of butter) with a green tomato chutney(in place of kaya). It was gimmicky and good for a one-off experience. Being a connoisseur of foie gras and having lived in france for 2 decades, my palates were a little let-down here by the muted minuscule portion of terrine but perhaps it could also have been the attempt at achieving too much in one dish because the coffee crumble on the foie gras was rather dominant. All together, it was a little chaotic but if deconstruction was the goal, they achieved it.
This is just my humble take. We still enjoyed ourselves despite our criticisms perhaps because of the good lighting and lovely city view from 22 floors up. Perhaps we'd drop by one day for another round but we're certainly not coming for their buffet spread. We had a glimpse of the rather small spread and a peek at what other diners had and were happy we went a la carte.

Dear TravelnLive89,
Thank you for providing your feedback on TripAdvisor. We are delighted to know that you enjoyed the city view from level 22 and complimented our new item in our revamped ala carte menu “Char Siew Chicken Empanadas”.
We are disheartened to know that SKY22’s Tiger Prawn Laksa Lemak, Red Wine Braised Lamb Shank and SKY22’s Kaya Toast were not up to your mark. We will pass on the feedback to our Executive Chef & his culinary team for their review.
In view of the current situation, we have temporarily suspended our weekend full buffet and now serve only semi-buffet daily for both lunch & dinner. Semi-buffet comprises of a choice of an entrée that changes weekly alongside unlimited portions of appetizers, soups and desserts priced at $28++ and $36++ per person respectively.
TravelnLive89, thank you once again for choosing SKY22 and yes, since we are nearby : ) we definitely look forward to welcoming you back again to try out the rest of our ala-carte items.
Please do not hesitate to contact us directly at 6378 2040, should you require to make a reservation.

Other than the initial unexpected cancelation of the booking by the restaurant, the food was good, simple range of semi buffet spread. Restaurant gave us a private room which was great as we were there for our reunion dinner. Waitresses were helpful and attentive.

The view from the seats we were at was very nice. Overlooking the city at night. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was good and the spread was okay. Some changes to menu that it's best if you call in advance to check if all menu items that are advertised are available. Overall experience was good.

This is the breakfast restaurant of courtyard novena, and like the hotel, a 3-4 star experience
They have limited variety compared to a good Asian breakfast buffet , and also the quality is not tempting (pastries, cereals, juices etc)

After stopping during the Covid-19 pandemic, Sky22 finally brought back its semi-buffet. Personally, I prefer a semi-buffet to a full buffet since the main course is fixed and we don't end up eating so much. The main courses were OK. The lamp dish was good in that the lamp was nicely medium rare. I thought the wagyu cheek was good because it was very tender but my husband and friend felt it was a bit too tender - so I guess it is personal taste. However, we all agreed the desserts were disappointing. That used to the highlight of the semi-buffet at Sky22- especially the petite desserts in the 'fridge'. This time, the desserts in the 'fridge' were a way too sweet pavlova and a boring (though admittedly rich) chocolate mousse tart. The bread and butter pudding, one of my favourite desserts, was moist but for some strange reason tasteless/bland. The so-called tiramisu was more sponge than mascarpone cheese. Overall, the dessert spread was disappointing, except for the lychee ice cream and the salty caramel ice cream. The salad and soup buffet were Ok - sufficient range of greens and nuts to choose from - though the balsamic vinegar seemed rather diluted. If I go back, I will just choose from their main course. Or perhaps they should bring back their set lunches - at least the dishes were generally decent and it was value for money.
