Truly fitting place for an upmarket Western street-style cafe. Although it sits right next to Tiong Bahru Bakery, now arguably an iconic establishment in Tiong Bahru, MERCI more than holds its own in this increasingly posh conservation neighbourhood. Prices, as has been mentioned in earlier reviews, do sit in above average bracket, but then so does the quality of food, service and ambience, which I include the neighbourhood surroundings. Water is available free, but filtered and sparkling water are a dollar each, free flow. Carparking is easy enough at 8am. Altogether a most pleasant and refreshing experience.
One week later, and we came here a 2nd time with more family. The cheeses were good. The seabass Ceviche was wonderful, eaten with crisp flatbread.

Shout out to Tamil as he performed well in the restaurant, when I looking for the server before raising my hand, he acknowledged and approach me.
While I am done with main and I asked for sweets, he introduce me the Raspberry dessert which helps to reset my palette. Nice flat white you made, Julie.
Food is wonderful and I look forward for next feast here.

Great ambience and chill vibes. The cheese board comes with unlimited baguettes which are divine when paired with their French butter. Lovely and friendly service as well ☺️ I’m a regular here and never tire of this place

I absolutely love Merci Marcel! It’s my go-to place after a long, tiring day. They have an excellent selection of wine and cheese, perfect for unwinding and indulging. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff are always welcoming and friendly, making the experience even better. Whether you're meeting friends or just looking to relax solo, they never disappoint. Highly recommend!

I wanted to go to a cafe in the Tiong Bahru area, so I searched and found this restaurant, and went there!
When I entered the restaurant, only counter seats were available, so I sat there, but when a chair became available, they asked me if I wanted to move, and I was impressed by their hospitality! The staff were all friendly and cheerful.
You can order using QR code, but when I was having trouble connecting to the wi-fi, they gave me a regular menu.
As for the final bill! You can split the bill (you can pay separately)
I had French toast, and my friend had eggs Benedict.
My friend said it was the best food he had during his stay in Singapore!
My French toast was also very delicious, with just the right amount and sweetness.
If I go to Singapore again, I would definitely like to use it.

my family and i decided to visit merci marcel and it was a really enjoyable experience! the host and servers were really hospitable and friendly, explaining to us about the menu when we were confused about certain items. our waitress jess was really sweet and her service provided made our experience a very wholesome one! would definitely come back to try the other items on the menu next time!

Great spot to hang out with friend and family! Food was great and the portions for dinner were perfect for big groups. We truly loved the cheeses and wines recommended by Jumalia(who's surprisingly a trainee! ) kudos to the rest of the team for a great experience we had last weekend! Will definitely patronise this outlet again next time.

We went to Merci Marcel for Breakfast. The staff is very friendly and pay attention to the customers. We could choose between sparkling and still water and got it in a nice bottle arranged with two nice glases. It is a detail but if you are in a higher price class you need to provide this. We had a Croque Marcel and the French toast. The Croque was good, could have another egg on it as the combination with the ham and cheese was very good. Unluckily only the half of the croque was covered with an egg. French toast was good as well, the berries were quite delicious and with the almonds and the whip cream a good combination.
Overall a good price/value relation and recommended to go there, though I felt there is a bit space to improve the meals.

Nice ambience, friendly staffs! And great tasty food selections!
We ordered some cheese to share, taste good and comes with a tasty butter too! We also ordered the cauliflower trilogy and the beef burger to share! Especially love the cauliflower trilogy! Everything is so well made, will definitely go back again!

We ordered a cheese platter with three cheeses, mains and desserts. The cheese platter came with a bread basket, butter and chutney on the side. It was a great appetiser to share among three people. Out of all the mains the ravioli was our favourite. The staff were really friendly and helpful too! Overall a great dinner experience

Stopped here for a quick lunch time feed and catch-up with a friend. Never been before, so it was pot luck as to how it would all go.
The service was great, very well looked after, and they have $1 water which is unlimited refills, including sparkling, i liked this idea to be sustainable!
I had the beef, and my partner had the tuna, both dishes very nice, fresh, and tasty!
Thanks for the feed, coffee was good too!

Service provided by Ezra was top notch, friendly and quick. I believe she is one of the best service crew that I’ve ever met. It’s amazing that she could remember all the dessert items and gave recommendations for each one. A gem and she truly amplified our experience. I would like to express my sincere thanks to Ezra for our wonderful dining experience.
Food was great as usual. Every dish was delicious and we cleaned every plate. Truffle pasta is the bomb.
It’s my second visit and I had such an amazing experience previously. I can’t remember the name of the crew who served us, wear specs and has long hair :)
One of the best restaurants in town and I hope they never lose this good team and maintain the high standards for their food. I can’t wait to be back.

Food is on the pricier side but tasty. Ambiance was nice and the French music was good too.
Order their coffee! I promise, you won’t be disappointed. Good selection of French cheeses and French wines. Online menu wasn’t well accepted by the older folks but they do provide a hard copy menu. Service was fantastic, lot of greeting and welcoming smiles. Me and my parents were well taken by the team. They provided $1 free flow of premium water, support a cleaner planet and they mentioned half of the revenue will go for project tree planting in Indonesia👍I suggest you reserve a good table online before you come. We will be back definitely. And big thanks to Shung, such a lovely person!
