This is one of my favorite restaurants when come to entertaining foreign guests. Without failed it impressed my foreign guests with its delicious uniquely Singapore dishes. Feedback from my last visit on 2 of its most acclaimed signature dishes: 1. The heart-attack fried rice was...bland and tasted like soy sauce steam rice. The famous wok hei and pungent flavor was totally missing. 2. The hokkien fried noodle was watery and again wok hei was totally missing. Fortunately rest of dishes were still at their usual good standard,More

You have difficulty finding this place and then enter past piles of junk staff lockers and toilets. No staff in sight Inside looks like a junk shop. Too many tables too close to each other i was in doorway of what was one time a...wine store but was now a private dining room this meant a continuous number of people traipsing past You continually get feeling you are being rushed. Elsie touted many things in fact everything on menu . raw. Blue not pink. They were replaced and had been liberally sprinkled with salt. Veery fish had a bowl of salt with it. The wines were lacklustre French or below par Chilean. Every decent wine was out of stock because they continually told me they were changing their wine list. Hopefully to one that disperses salt. The Steamed squid was ok but too much onion. The famous USDA Angus was very fatty and liberally salted the heart attack rice a massive clump of salty brown rice. The egg plant weird. Elsie removed the cost of the lamb and brought coconut ice cream. All told poor. Would not return.More

Food is really good here. One of the better local seafood restaurants in singapore. As it’s the Singapore’s circuit breaker phase 2, so there were strict social safe distancing measures in place. We were ushered into a private room, just 4 of us. The experience...was great. Attentive servers and staff at the restaurant. The food was served fast and hot and tasted awesome! We have ordered the famed “boss beehoon” and it’s a must order. It’s a simple no frills dish but taste heavenly! The rest of the dishes were good too. We had the fried prawn roll, kailan, satay, radish omelette, pork Jowl, hotplate tofu. All turned out to be winners :) Will dine here again. It’s a perfect venue for family dinners and the restaurant is located in the city area which is very convenient for us. Previously I used to go to their Hillview branch which was a tad too far for me. My family loves the food and the dining experience here. Thank you .More

We came in a group of four. Two rated 1 star, one rated 3 stars, and I rate 2. You get the drift. Food was generally lukewarm (even though we were the only customers at that time). The wagyu beef platter was good but fairly...ordinary; the accompanying rice was terrible. The “blue dragon vegetables” was VERY oily. The fried mee sua was aromatic but it was also very oily. The best dish was the starter: luncheon meat fries. The steamed so-tong was not bad, but it wasn’t warm. What is wrong with them about not being able to serve hot food??! We left halfway, to complete our dinner in the Chinese restaurant downstairs (now THAT is five stars without a doubt)... Btw, the two friends who rated one star have been to the original outlet and declared it to be way superior to this. I have a feeling they’ll probably do better if they convert themselves into a bar which serves good bar food.More

Our reservations were mixed up and we arrived an hour early for dinner. They accommodated us without any fuss. We were grateful for their inclusion as this is a local restaurant that is hard to get into. The food was very good, although I would...add incendiary. No problem if you like really, really hot food; otherwise you should ask for some temperance in the heat index.More

Starters of stuffed you-tiao (deep fried pastry) with squid paste and Hei Chor (deep fried prawn & pork rolls) were good. Followed by 2 plates of noodles - Hokkien Mee Special (which was disappointingly watery) and Punggol- style mee goreng (very tasty), plus 2 types...of vegetables (sauté Kai Lan & deep fried eggplants) - both were good. One braised tofu on hot plate and sauté prawns were also good but the BBQ squids were pale (didn’t look like BBQed). We shared the desserts - mashed durian flesh and the sticky red date pudding were delicious but the tau suan with you tiao was diluted and tasteless. We avoided ordering the very expensive crabs, lobsters etc - most of the chefs’ recommendations! Total cost S$231 (shared by 6 persons).More

The food here was really expensive, but understandable given the location. The food on the menu was mainly local Singaporean cuisine. However, the food served was not really spectacular. In fact, the food was only slightly better than the fare served at zichar stalls found...commonly in hawker centres.More

The food is good but you pay for it and hence rated it average. I think for me whilst service was fine and food tasted good I didn’t like the garlic baked crab. Chilli crab tasted good as usual. Kai Lan stems were just too...big and not enough leaf.More

This restaurant is an outlet of Ubin Seafood at Chijmes. As the name suggests, their seafood is fresh and tasty. My favourites are the steamed bambooshoot clams and Hong Kong style steamed squid. The highlight however of this restaurant I think, is the beef steak...with Heartattack Fried Rice (made with beef fat), and their corkage free policy. The steak is juicy and tender even with the lowest grade cut. You can bring your favourite bottles to pair with the seafood and meat dishes.More
