Small izakaya in neighborhood area. Small shop but food is nice, and price is reasonable. Shishamo, grilled squid, yakitori are nice items to try.

A neighbourhood izakaya bar that served a good variety of bites. Good value and also offered different types of sake (though prices tad steep) Wait staff made good recommendations A gem in the place

TBH wasnt expecting much - neighbourhood izakayas feel like something out of the norm but this place proved me wrong and more. The service was prompt and friendly, the place though smaller than what i thought gave a super chill and the decor sorta transported me back to those days of finding cheap Japanese fare in Tokyo. Food wise? Wasnt left disappointed at all. The pork belly - succulent and juicy, was easily the standout. Wallet friendly gyudons & curry cutlet rice are also available. And although we didnt go for any alcohol, the wide range that was available was something noteworthy. All in all - a place to visit if you happen to be around Kovan - a pleasant surprise.

Pleasant experience with great ambiance. I had the Ribeye beef don and Mentai Tiger Prawn which very tasty and I highly recommend. Great service and would definitely come back to dine again! :)

This izakaya place is conveniently located near the MRT Station and easily accessible. I came here with my girlfriend and we both enjoyed the food! The skewers were large and delicious (we ordered the tiger prawns, ribeye beef and pork belly + leek). The cheese mentaiko scallop were also plump and had a nice smokey flavour. Definitely a unique izakaya experience in Singapore!

Pretty affordable and conveniently located in the heartlands, but still an authentic izakaya experience! The sashimi was very fresh, and the salty mentaiko added a good contrast to the sweet tamago. The most interesting dish would have to be the dried stingray, because I’ve never tried anything like it. It was sweet and has a similar texture to dried fish. Would definitely patronise again!

Tucked at the corner of a residential estate, Tachinomiya quenches your craving for fresh hot skewers and some Japanese classic dishes at an affordable price. What we love most is the large variety of items in the menu to choose from and our favourite is the Grilled Garlic Pork Belly under ‘Small Bites’ - juicy fatty meat and flavourful glaze. Try also their Cheese Mentaiko Scallop and don’t forget their Kushiyakis - we love their sauce that’s glazed on those bbq meat (and vege).

The concept of serving bar bites inspired by Japanese food alongside a good variety of Japanese alcohol seem to be a growing trend, and Tachinomiya Japanese Izakaya Bar is a great rendition of this concept at an affordable price. The alcohol menu was quite extensive which should satisfy most people at a decent price range. I am more impressed by the food though. The food size were definitely on the small side since they are supposed to be bar bites, but it was delicious at an affordable price. Highly recommend the tamago with metaiko sauce and their skewers. Would definitely be back!

Highly recommend Tachinomiya Izakaya to anyone looking for affordable Japanese fare that does not compromise on quality and flavour! For the most part, prices did not exceed $20 an item, which is amazing, considering the wide range of options they have to pick from! Had the salmon chirashi rice bowl and the tamago mentai which definitely did not disappoint both in terms of portion and taste, fish was juicy and fresh, making you savour each bite! Located a short walk from Kovan MRT, this unassuming restaurant and bar has an authentic cozy and homely feel to it, making the dining experience even more pleasant! :') This 'chill' vibe certainly seems to be a rarity amongst other more loud and hectic izakayas and really sets Tachinomiya apart from the rest! Something to note would be the limited seating, would be best to make a reservation in advance, or come early to avoid disappointment! What's not to love, am personally looking forward to coming back here in the future! :')

The restaurant is walking distance from Kovan MRT Station. Prices are affordable with a good selection of appetisers, skewer and dons. Highly recommend starting with the tamago with mentaiko sauce and scallop. The wagyu skewer also paired nicely with the Yuzu fizz. Will come back.

Small humble Japanese Izakaya and bar located in the heartlands. Would highly recommend the salmon sashimi and salmon chirashi don for salmon lovers. The raw salmon was very fresh and melts in your mouth. Portions were also generous and thickly sliced. Prices quoted in the menu are nett, and is generally more affordable compared to large chain Japanese restaurant. The pork belly and leek skewer was especially value for money with huge chunks of pork belly barbecued to perfection. For those looking to splurge, I would recommend the cheese mentaiko scallop. The mentaiko really complements the freshness of the scallop, and the dish as a whole packs a mouthful of umami. Overall would definitely recommend this place to a friend. Be sure to make a reservation before heading down as the seats there are quite limited.

Came here on a Sunday night with my boyfriend, and since we are salmon lovers, we went for the Salmon Sashimi (6pcs), which was pretty soft, tender and thick 😍. The Salmon Chirashi rice was also really good. There was plenty of salmon in the dish, and the generous portion would be perfect for salmon lovers. The mentai tiger prawn was also really good: mentaiko sauce went really well with the smoky flavour of the prawn. Enjoyed the pork belly and leek Kushiyaki as the meat was tender and soft. Each stick had quite a big portion of meat, which i felt was quite value for money. Service was prompt as well. Do make sure to reserve before you come to avoid waiting!

The Izakaya here was really good - a good mix of classic ones and some interesting ones that I've only tried here! The cheese mentaiko scallop was my personal favourite, really really fresh and full of umami. Would also recommend the shishamo, sashimi and skewers. Stingray fin was really interesting, reminded me a lot of a childhood cuttlefish snack that many Singaporeans might be familiar with. Small thing: would have loved if the edamame and ei hire were served at the start instead of the end, but not a big issue. The ambience really sealed the deal and overall, Tachinomiya was a great find with good food, drinks and vibes that would make for a chill date night or drinks with friends. Definitely worth giving a visit!
