This is the first time we ate lunch in here and they serve quality food. But the problem is, the food comes a bit late. Anyway, there's this girl who served our food and we really felt welcome in this restaurant. Her name is Jesica?...We're not sure to the name of the girl. We'll definitely come back in this restaurant.More

This restaurant came highly recommended so I decided to try it out since it’s also located near my residence. There’s ample parking and outdoor seating under tents. It is only one of 2 restaurants situated in Oxley Business Hub. My friend who treated us had...her usual sashimi while I tried the crispy Unagi which was good, another had ramen and the other had Udon. Service was good. Surprisingly, they have quite a variety of dishes. The only drawback is the lack of Japanese desserts. They only have ice cream and mochi to choose from. Considering it was a Monday night, the place was quite packed. It’s also spacious.More

Easy to park and you can book a table or just walk in. However when we arrived no nice greeting and the service was virtually non-existent. Never once were we asked if we wanted a refill of tea. They didn’t bring condiments or enough spoons...for the meals we were having. It was even very difficult to attract the staff’s attention from asking to order to asking for other things and refills of tea. The food was ok although two of the dishes were cold. The 3 way sashimi was good (albeit it very expensive) and the curry chicken was tasty. Generally though very ordinary. Definitely not value for money.More

Dinner at Yamato was great, I love their lanterns and outdoor seating area. We had sake, unagi and iberico pork from the teppanyaki section, it really was an amazing experience. Felt like I was back in Japan again Would recommend to come here, it’s quite...easily accessible and they have lots of seating availableMore

Had dinner ate yamato izakaya. Many food choices on the menu. The food was not as aspected. Burned gyoza, and unagi dish was burned. Sushi was served without any soy sauce we had to ask for it. Chicken karage was ok. The terayaki iberico porkbelly...didnt have any taste. For the amount that we have to pay you can eat better japanese food somewhere else. Service was terrible, not helpfull or friendly. Will not go back here.More

Nice ramen. Delicious broth. The unagi is nice too. Place can be crowded, we prefer to go during off-pear hours. My kids love the fatty pork belly. Do order the gyoza too. Price wise, value for money and reasonable. Prompt service.

Very bad service. Ordered my food from the manager for Ramen, Gozen and Grilled Hokke fish at 12.10pm. The main dishes of Ramen and Gozen came 10-15 minutes. Thereafter at 12.20pm, a large group of 10 customers came in and the manager took orders from...them and we overheard him telling the cooks to 'cook better' because the customers are 'VIP'. So apparently they cook the dishes with more attention if you are VIP. So we waited till 12.45pm, still no sight of the grilled fish order while the table with 10 customers are all filled with dishes. I approached the staff and was told to wait another 10 minutes. 10 minutes later, the grilled fish came charred and I stormed off and paid the bill less the grilled fish item. Manager saw us storming off and didn't even bother to ask what is wrong with the dish or offered any apology. Looks like you must be a 'VIP' to get good treatment at this restaurant. Visit this eatery if you like bad service or unless you are a 'VIP'.More

We only eat unagi here. We'd rather eat here than to have to wait in long queue outside Man Man in Chinatown. Same quality & taste.

Food wise was alright. Had intentionally recommended my overseas colleagues here to try out their food but was put off by the overall bad experience towards the end. We had requested for a split in bill 2 ways when picking up the tab however cashier...said they could not split bill as bill would reflect different cost?! We insisted on splitting bill and my colleague had to list out the items for the cashier each item to split despite it was quite straight forward. In additional in which believe could be the manager even said to us that we should mentioned much earlier. Very appalled by the service. Nice hipster decor izakaya on the inside but back dated in terms of service!More

Woohoo! We finally savored the best unagi in town after putting off a few trips to their outlet at Keong Siak Street. The hype is for real...soft yet crispy unagi that’s freshly grilled on premise. You can even see the preparations behind the glass window....The Hitsumabushi dish is eaten in 3 ways: as is, with wasabi & scallions toppings and as a porridge by drizzling with tea sauce. The grilled unagi is firm & soft on the inside & crispy on the outside. Never tasted unagi so good like this! The medium set costs $29.95++. There is also a ramen joint Ramen Hitoyoshi & Tora Tora serving twin don. That’s for another visit, burp!More
