Tried both lunch and dinner on different occasions. GREAT value for lunch sets. DO NOT MISS THE UNAGI if you’re a fan and if available. For their dinner omakase, definitely understates the qua Option of 3 sets priced differently to fit individual palettes. Restaurant is ready to customise your meal as well if there’s a particular dish you’d prefer to have or not at all! Or...just wait to be surprised :) For folks who enjoy drinks, you’ll be spoilt with the wide selection of sake. Restaurant was accommodating to larger groups too! Last but not least, what is omakase without the Chef, staff and owners who strive to provide the service.

My gf and i are lucky enough to get a reservation at torio as they are fully reserved most of the time on weekends. Decided to give them a try after reading their reviews. I have to say, the omakase is simply amazing, the food is very fresh and value for money given what was served. Will definitely be back again.

Brought my best friend here to celebrate her birthday. The restaurant provided a complimentary cake after our omakase lunch set. Uni chawanmushi was a good value item in the menu but I felt it was overpowered by the dashi within the chawanmushi. My favourite was the flounder sushi!

Visited the restaurant last night on 17/7/20 for a birthday celebration with my fiancee. Opted for their basic 80 dollar per pax Omakase set meal, having read and heard good reviews, with a view in mind to return in future. Things started off on a slightly disappointing note, when we were not given countertop seats although we had specifically made such a request during when making reservations. However I understand with the current limited seating capacity and perhaps demand for counter top seats, the restaurant was not able to accede to our requests. The 80 dollar Omakase menu was as such: 3 appetizers Sashimi Cold Entree Hot Entree Seafood Sushi Soup Dessert The initial first 3 courses were interesting and I suppose acceptable (appetizers, sashimi, cold entree). The sashimi was fresh although cut in rather small pieces, and the cold entree was rather delightful (cold angel hair truffled pasta with egg roe and small shrimps). Unfortunately everything went downhill thereafter. The "hot entree" comprised chawamushi with crabstick (which can probably be purchased at a Kopitiam for $1.50-$2). The "seafood" dish was made up by 1 sad, slightly soggy and thickly battered tempura prawn. In my surprise, I checked with the waitress and as informed that this was no ordinary prawn. Unfortunately I was unable to differentiate this single limp tempura prawn from those which may be purchased at Don Don Donki, but perhaps my taste buds are less refined. The Sushi comprised 3 pieces and was acceptable. The soup consisted of what tasted like ordinary miso soup (hopefully not the powdered pre packaged types). Dessert perhaps provided the only 2nd saving grace (after the cold entree), sesame ice cream which thankfully provided a sweet ending to a rather tepid dinner. To top it off, the aircon which was directly above us started splaying water which spattered all over our table and into my tea. The "green tea" which tasted like flavoured water. Sadly an ending befitting of this strange meal which cost 90+ per pax after tax/GST. One of the saddest Japanese meals I've had (not withstanding the fact that this should be compared with other Omakases and not run of the mill jap restaurants), redeemed by the good company of my lovely fiancee Will definitely never be back Not with such a price tag and food quality

Dear JonEgger, Thank you for your feedback and our sincere apologies that the counter seats were not available during your visit. I have also noted your feedback on the aircon, and have scheduled a Service Technician to check on it just in case. Just to provide you with more information, the "crab stick" that you've had was Taraba Kani while the Ebi Tempura that you had was Botan Ebi. As an additional assurance, the Miso soup you had was not powdered pre packaged but instead, it is meticulously boiled with quality ingredients that give rise to its fragrant and distinctive flavour, which is in fact very well-liked by our Patrons. Concerning the Green Tea which we uphold an equal standard to the food we prepare for our Patrons, even though complimentary, are never flavoured water. They are constantly being prepared by our Service Crew using quality Japanese Sencha. We value the time you had taken to feedback on your experience with us. Regards, TORIO Team

The food here is ok but very overpriced. Teriyaki beef was very, very tasty. Sashimi was excellent as well. Fish collar wasn’t great and very under seasoned. The Wagyu Donburi was very disappointing because it’s basically a huge bowl of (nicely seasoned) rice with just a few silvers of wagyu. Overall ok, may come again for the teriyaki beef. But too expensive for what it is and what you get.

Came here for my wife's birthday on the 30th of December 2021. Ordered 2 Dinner Sets, 1 Beef and 1 Fish and an additional Uni Pasta. The whole dinner started off ok with drinks until all the servers started to serve the food very quickly filling up the table in such speed made us feel that there was a rush to finish all our food. When we had the first mouth of our rice, we immediately knew this was going to be a bad dinner as the rice was dry and hard. (This was not what we were expecting from Japanese short grain.) Next was the fish, the fish looks good on the outside but the fish was almost tasteless. It was bland except of the fried taste you get from the skin of the fish. Beef on the other hand was still decent. The Uni Pasta came shortly and it was bad as well. Uni was tasteless, pasta was bland also. At this point my wife decide to buy this meal herself as she did not want to treat this meal as her birthday meal because it was really terrible. We did not finish our rice and we struggled to finish the fish and the pasta. Lastly, we had sesame ice cream for dessert and we noticed that the waiter served us the ice cream with wet hands and some of the droplets of water dripped into our ice cream. (I hope that water was his freshly washed hands.) At this point, I realized that they have forgotten my request to prepare a small dessert surprise for my wife. Nonetheless we decided to foot the bill and leave and ONLY at this point, they remembered my request and rushed out with a piece of cake for my wife which has no meaning anymore. I will definitely not return.

Dear Felixchohol, Thank you for your feedback and it was most unfortunate that you had an experience that did not meet your expectations. We have noted down your feedback for your order and will be reviewing with our Head Chef on your comments. We do seek your kind understanding that our dinner courses are served at a shorter intermittent time due to the nature of the course. We do apologise that our complimentary cake came late. We sincerely wished to make your day a meaningful one. We truly value your feedback and look forward to your future patronage, which you may want to try our Chef's Omakase offerings which have garnered great reviews. Hope to see you again! I chose the mid range Omakase ($100 per pax). The first course was a slice of sweet corn, a very salty squid appetiser and an even saltier preserved scallop (like the packet ones we buy on Japan trip). The sashimi was tuna and yellowtail, of a quality that I can get for a fraction of the price at any decent sashimi restaurant. Nothing was exceptional at all on this Omakase attempt,m. The chef and a group of regulars at the bar counter was boisterous. The service staff was very eager to clear our plates after every course, and instead of bringing dirty dishes straight to the kitchen, they were stacking the used utensil, crockery in a large plastic container, in full view of the customers, right at the main door. So much for service and ambience. Needless to say, won’t be returning or recommending.

Both of us visited this restaurant for the 188$ each chef omakase, I requested to exchange the toro part to something special. When come to sushi section, my friend got his toro sushi top with sea urchin, while they replaced my toro sushi with the cheapest fish, Saba sushi. This is such a joke, expensive fish replace to cheap fish. Also, we did noticed there a special treatment for their regular customers. 188$ chef omakase is the highest tier for this restaurant, yet the food served for their regular are much nicer compare to ours, which is not impressive at all.

I really wanted to like this place and the owner was very welcoming, however given the price point, food was left to be desired. Tried the tempura set course and although the sashimi was very fresh , the main tempura dish was a major letdown given that the batter was very thick, and seafood was somewhat tasteless as a result. Expected way more given the expensive price and previous reviews.

Cozy place tucked at corner of Link Hotel, 10mins walk from Tiong Bahru MRT. Not so visible yet the restaurant is pack, which means food must be good and words have travel by mouth. Similarly visited this place for lunch with a friend, introduced by a colleague. Ordered lunch set Gyuniku Teppanyaki Beef lunch set that comes with salmon, salad and matcha ice cream. Am not a fan of raw fish, but the salmon is super duper fresh and I gladly ate it. The Chirashi was also nice and so is the EbinTempura. Service is also commendable.

Brought my mum there for mother’s day dinner with my boyfriend, but was utterly disappointed. we felt deceived by the online reviews. my biggest mistake was to visit the toilet before the meal – the stench was crazy and it felt so old and dirty. menu was literally shedding because it’s so old, leaving black and red pieces of plastic all over the table. the actual environment of the restaurant also needs some serious upgrading. food portion was small and quality overall was extremely lacklustre. was definitely not worth the $250 that i paid for 3 pax, especially when i’ve eaten at other japanese restaurants for around the same damage for 100x better quality food, environment and service.

The restaurant has a room just for teppanyaki and a few private rooms. The sushi bar is quite large perhaps a sitting for 15-18 people with no social distancing! Quite a few tables surrounding the sushi bar. We had the sushi course during lunch time. Came with 9 pieces of nigiri and 3 piece Tekka maki. The set includes a 3 set appetiser, Uni chawanmushi soup and ice cream. Freshness is noticed and it all tasted good. The set is $68/person ++. Service was acceptable. Menu is quite extensive.

Dear William, Thank you for visiting us and taking time to leave us compliments. We are thrilled that you have enjoyed the dining experience at Torio. You are right that the original sitting capacity for our sushi bar is about 18 guests, however, like every other restaurants, we have had our seating capacity decreased due to social distancing and are limited to about 15 guests at the sushi bar, depending on the reservation group size. Likewise, we have a number of seatings for table, private rooms and teppanyaki too. We are delighted that you have enjoyed our sushi course and we look forward to welcome you all again soon! Excellent food and service. Went for the highest tier omakase and we were served with ingredients that are in season. Restaurant is not huge but that’s what makes the place cosy, similar to restaurants in Japan. Will be returning again.

The ambiance was cozy and the staff was attentive to us. Had the Wagyu rice bowl and the meat was well prepared, soft, and succulent. The set came with salad, soup and ice cream too. Overall a very pleasant experience and I would highly recommend this place for a business lunch or an Omakase dinner.

Japanese Omakase often comes with exorbitant price in Singapore. Some places after spending more than 1K you don't feel like is worth it. Torio Japanese Omakase starts from SGD 80-188 per pax. I choose the SGD 138+ per pax. It was always so good!! Their sake is a decent one at reasonable price SGD 108 for 720ml. This will always be a place for me to bring my guest here again and again.
