We shared four dishes and they were largely excellent. A rendang, crab curry, and a further mum's curry. The crab curry in particular was sublime. However we also had a squid dish which whilst tasting nice had very chewy squid (a sin), and also bits...of sand (an even greater sin). Not really acceptable even for an average restaurant. Lucky we weren't michelin inspectors! Service was good though and the ambience was nice. We would return.More

Delicious and interesting. Chef takes you on a cultural journey along with his staff through the tastes and history of Parnakan culture, family and food. Service was excellent, vibe lovely. We had the tasting menu reasonably priced for a Michelin star and just the right...amount of food. Outstanding dishes: prawn curry, lobster curry canapé and the sublime sugarcane and lemongrass sorbet. Highly recommendMore

There are always high expectations when booking a Michelin starred restaurant and although the food was pleasant enough it was a long way from achieving the expectations. We decided on the a la Carte and had 3 starters and 3 curries. I’m afraid to say...that none reached the heights expected. Strangely enough I was left asking “Is this Candlenuts fault or the Guides fault”, ultimately I’m left unsure. Service was extremely friendly and keen to please. The dining room was overly bright but airy and pleasant. Prices were reasonable based on the 1 star but over priced for the reality.More

Finally get a chance to dine-in here again after a few postponements due to covid. The food keeps getting better! Deserves another star.

This restaurant really lived up to our expectations! A little difficult to get to so you do need to catch a taxi but well worth the effort. Set in a beautiful old building that I believe once were Army barracks. Greeted warmly and shown to...our table which were comfortably spaced out. We choose the Peranakan taste of Candlenut dinner so we could enjoy the full culinary experience. The dishes were served over a couple of hours so you didn’t feel rushed and were expertly explained by our waiter Felix who was so knowledgeable. It really is a special meal to try when in Singapore!More

Visited here from a recommendation of a friend who live local. Opted for the tasting menu and it was very good, big portions so we were both full at the end and staff were good. Would come again.

Book your reservation now! Such a wonderful experience! The food was absolutely incredible. The best Michelin experience I’ve had. The restaurant is stunning. Arvin took care of us and he was so knowledgeable and really made us feel connected to the cuisine and the culture....We left and immediately recommended Candlenut to a few friends visiting Singapore in the coming weeks. I will dream about this experience until the next time I’m lucky enough to go again!More

I visited Candlenut with my family and young child and found it worthy of its Michelin star. To start, the customer service was fantastic. The staff were attentive and friendly, especially since we had a young child. They provided a high chair which I wasn’t...expecting at this venue. The food itself was tasty and had unique flavours which I was expecting of Nonya food. In addition, the venue had a good array of alcoholic and non alcoholic food. The price however is on the steep side, so if you are like myself and wanted to have the tasting menu, then it does get pricey. It is recommended to book a table in advance especially if coming from overseas. Parking is available on site, however it is possible to get to Candlenut via bus. Definitely worth coming, but do give yourself at least 2 hours if you’re planning to have the tasting menuMore

We visited for dinner in June 2022. The staff were brilliant & food was delicious. The MRT does not go to the area so a taxi is a most. We were told that it can be difficult to get a taxi home but the restaurant...called us a taxi which arrived within 5 minutes.More

Hard to beat this place - set a brisk walk from Orchard Road amid that rare Singapore greenery. All dishes excellent, ambience excellent, portion size also relatively good. The crab curry is one of the best. No-smoking. Service was a little too eager - i...received my main course before the appetiser was gone - they could easily have held it for 5mins, dishes whisked away etc. A tad expensive but worth itMore

We ordered the lunch tasting menu and added an ala carte order of their Ngo Hiong (SUPER GOOD!). We had one pescatarian in our party and they gladly adjusted the lunch tasting set to her requirements. (We mentioned this is advance, during booking.) It was...our first time to try Peranakan cuisine and we were absolutely delighted by all the flavors. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable, I forgot to take his name, but it sure added to the great experience that we had. Definitely going back and recommending this place to everyone who's visiting Singapore.More

My husband and I ate dinner at Candlenut and had a fantastic time. We have eaten all over the world, and this chef's food is definitely world-class. The food was creative, fresh, pretty and delicious. After dinner we had the best chocolate dessert I have...ever eaten. Highly highly recommended: You won't get a better meal anywhere.More

My wife and I have been there yesterday for the fist time. Food was amazing, no matter which one you choose. Recommend to choose different tastes to get the full bandwith of the cuisines gems. One more thing which will bring ud definitely back is...the corteous service they have. The chef, his brother and the other waiters never let us waiting. We have tried Durian creme for the first time (yeah, it is challenging for someone from oversea… 😂) and the brother of the chef has seen that and brought us another dessert with the justification the dinner should end with a great final! Top, would give 6 stars if possible.More
