Personally I think this is one of the best Teo Chew restaurant in Singapore.
Opting for a more elegant and balanced cooking style, the flavours are more delicate - not the usual bold, heavily seasoned till dark type.
Most obvious is in the braised items...which Teo Chew cuisine is famous for. Though appearing much lighter, they are definitely not lacking in flavours. You have the usual braised duck, mid wings, silky toufu and eggs. And if you are the more adventurous type, there’s beef tripe, pigs ears and even duck tongues. Nothing goes to waste.
Equally famous is the cold crab - and my favourite part is the soft creamy roe. Somehow the crabs here are always loaded with them. Another of my favourite dish here is the pigs stomach soup - just enough of peppery “kicks” to give the soup it’s signature flavours.
Another famous Teo Chew dish is the oyster omelette. In case oyster is not your thing, they make an equally good seafood version here. The Bak Chor (minced meat) noodle here is to die for - loaded with liver and lard, and a nice dash of vinegar.
While here, remember to try the authentic desserts as well - you won’t regret it.
