Not many in SG know there is a vibrant boarding school community in India, where regardless of which one you attended, you create a natural friendship bond and affinity that lasts a lifetime in most cases. The best memories from childhood to adulthood are eating...and drinking together at friend's houses, road side cafe's and restaurants, etc. One such place has recently opened in Singapore, conveniently located at the Stadium called Yarana. Started by a couple of boarding school alum, they bring together Indian "comfort foods" that we all craved as kids when school was in session. From dahi papdi, paranthas (aloo/paneer/gobi) to piping hot fluffy and crispy bhaturas with chola, kaadi/rice or rajma/rice, masala (spicy) omlette (which brought back memories of Harry Oms for this Mayo alum) to fresh lime sodas.... The finale was chocolate-covered golgappas served perched on top of shot glasses filled with choc sauce (with or without rum) HEAVENLY!!! What a concept; it was the perfect bit of crunch and sweetness to cap off a delicious, satisfying meal. If you are looking for amazing Indian food that just simply tastes delicious, this is a must try for all. You can thank me later!!More
