Went there for dinner a couple of nights ago and was seriously underwhelmed. Don't bother spending $225++ on steamed brioche that tasted gummy, a trio of starters that was insipid and bland; a katsu curry that was nothing but a ball of curry powder; liquid...omelette that was rubbery and I can go on. Was very disappointed by the whole experience. And what made it worse was the chef (i think he was the chef) who insisted on describing ad nauseam the ingredients used in each dish. Frankly, I had no interest in hearing about specially hand reared scallops or green caviar etc since it all didn't taste good anyway. The only good thing about the whole evening was the buzzy ambience and the friendly service.More

We had a reasonably enjoyable experience at Tipping Club the first time round, so decided to visit again. The food was OK but clearly fell short of expectations. The portion sizes were very small, and given that we ordered the vegetarian menu, was hardly filling....We were hungry in just three hours after a 10 course meal, which is simply absurd. The team needs to realize that vegetarian fare is much less filling and less complex than meat, and needs to adjust their ingredients / portion sizes / taste and flavor profile accordingly. Will definitely won't be back.More

We have been to the Tippling Club several times, but did not particularly enjoy this dinner. I received an email with the Thanksgiving menu and rather liked the look of it. The actual experience somehow succeeded in being simultaneously bland and pretentious. I can’t actually...remember some of the dishes. What I really did enjoy were the snacks (something with fois gras and a fishy tartlet). At some point we had a small bowel of maybe prawns with a sauce and some tomatoe, not dissimilar in taste to the tartlet, but difficult to eat. We asked for additional spoons to be able to cope with it. The main event - turkey with accompaniments - was probably the blandest dish of the evening. It made me pine for my Dad’s Christmas goose. Dessert was an artfully arranged bland-ish sliver of pumpkin pie. One fellow diner described it as too “mousse-y”. I knew immediately what he meant. After that we had excellent petits fours. I did like the drinks - cocktails and whiskey. In defense of the Club, I may have just aged out of their concept or lack sophistication. I like strong flavours at least in some of the dishes throughout a meal, and ‘artisan’ bread with plain or fancy butter and / or olive oil. Service was great though, friendly and professional. I’d be inclined to say “it’s not you it’s me”, except that all of us at the table sort of agreed. It’s not cheap so one expects the food to be somewhat memorable.More

Don't wait for a special occasion, just book! If you can, grab seats at the counter to watch all the action in the kitchen. We went on a busy Saturday night and had such a fabulous evening being entertained by the incredible chefs, enjoying wonderful...food, and also the drinks pairings (champagne/white wine/red wine/madeira/a cocktail). We arrived at 6pm which seemed early, but we were happy with our choice as we didn't end up leaving until 9:30pm after all the courses/drinks. Looking forward to the next menu change so we can return and try some more creations. Thoroughly recommended!More

I have dined the twice - for the first and last time Wines totally overpriced and often poor quality with no sommelier guidance food often in sweetened jelly with rubber like sauces in the form of emulsions turbot on a bed of (of cold tasting...peas) totally salted and under steamed that one had to cut it with the knife I could comment on all dishes but simply leave it dessert creme frech in some small deep fried buns which tasted of old oil used for fires before Service, waiter poured wine from old glass into new one though we changed wines no attention when given critical feedback presentation of food though they definitely took an effort but they missed the story and overdone it or did not focus on the most important - quality of food I should have listened to one of my business friends who warned us before as he had the same experience Beware - high prices but poor qualityMore

Absolutely stunning meal combined with excellent service and a brilliant atmosphere ! From the pre-dinner drinks to our “ pills “ to take away - was easily one of the best experiences I have had dining in Singapore. Could not decide what I enjoyed most....Stand outs for me would be - Chilled tomato gelee, Wild mushroom tart, the most amazingly cooked Turbot and the random but completely delicious Sake for breakfast. We were very happy to be sat at the kitchen bar. The service was perfect, just enough but not too much combined with Chef Ayo‘s personal touch. Throughly recommend !!More

Wifey and I managed to persuade our 7-year-old to allow us to have a staycation. Off we went on Sunday night to stay at a cool boutique place on Seah Street, and then the next day have lunch at my likely favourite restaurant in Singapore,...Tippling Club. Wifey is a Tippling Club Virgin - so even more special to take her today. A new 11-course set tasting menu was the adventure. Plus accompanying that a new cocktail menu to boot. Chey Ryan was in the shop along with Chef Ayo & Chef Andrew. The Holy Trinity of Tippling Club was in the hood and they served up a foodie heaven - pleasing to the eye and palate with textures all over the place. Japanese influences are galore. It's just an incredible experience you must try. You will end up dining on the very best food, in the coolest of restaurants, an ambience to die for and accompanying drinks to ensure you leave the car behind and don't return to work that afternoon.More
