Was recommended this place by a grab driver and read all amazing reviews and was hooked. Long mrt journey, bus ride and a fifteen minute walk along a dual carriageway and your there…..to find that it’s exactly the same food as you can get in...the hawker centre in china town and probably not even as cheap. Plus it was midweek and many stands were closed which made it even more of a let down. The food we had was good and it is in a nice park but definitely not worth the trip.More

Overview: Arrived after an hour's walk along the entire stretch of beach along East Coast Park. It was 9pm but this rare seaside hawker center was still packed and we had to wait 15 minutes or so for a table. It's just the norm at...popular hangouts like this one, get used to it (waiting politely for a table to free up). Despite the hassle, and slightly increased prices than before (honestly prices increased almost everywhere in Singapore), we still found the food here absolutely worth it given its authentic well-marinated flavors and wonderful seaside location. We tried: - Satays from the Malay store - was really fragrant and juicy. - Shrimps (too bad Malay store sold out!) - was fat and tender. - Sting ray - with slide-off-the-bone snow-white flesh underneath the addictive sambal - Carrot (actually radish) cake - both black (sweet) and white (savory) were delicious - Chicken wings - well, our kids could finish at least two to three each on their own. Well-marinated and freshly grilled. Didn't get to try the rest but, this place has many other popular foods that have been well-documented/blogged/videoed about. Cleanliness (superb, thanks to kind locals and cleaners): The refurbished tables feel cleaner with smooth vinyl surface, and each outdoor table even comes with individual canopy/sunshade. We sat near the tray collection point where the migrant cleaner was working tirelessly (and mostly thanklessly) clearing the never-ending influx of trays of utensils, and he was really kind for helping us wipe down the table that we had been waiting for a while (the local diners who just finished and left also cleared their own trays). Very thankful for that. There were quite a few handwash areas situated near the tray collection points scattered all around this humongous hawker center, for diners to wash your hands before and after your scrumptious meal. Great and affordable food by the beach, with nice tables and awesome cleaners.More

Great location and variety of food at the East Coast hawker centre. Pretty much everything you’d want to try and sample from BBQ Stingray, chicken rice, satay, hokkien mee, nasi goreng and more. Then a short walk to the beach.

This rating of 2 is wholly due to the ridiculous fence and hedge that someone who never visits the seaside designed and approved. The place used to be amazing, somewhere you could sit have a meal, a drink and watch the sea and enjoy the...breeze and then someone fixed it. Now no view and no breeze. It’s still an amazing place but could be so much better just by undoing the improvementsMore

This place is usually packed in the evenings during the weekends, and fewer stalls will be opened during the afternoon. During the day, the duck rice stall (porridge and noodles go week with the duck) and bak kut teh stall (pork trotters is great) are...the popular ones. During the night, satay and BBQ chicken wings, among others, are good. Of course prices here are expected to be higher but that does not deter the crowds. If you come during lunchtime, do expect the afternoon heat.More

This used to be a cheap and affordable place to intro foreign friends to local foods. But now that prices of EVERYTHING has increased, this place is no longer popular. Hot, sticky, uncomfortable outdoor seating. Sometimes long queues for certain favourited stalls. Dirty tables with...bones and food waste all over the place. Hygiene almost no present on popular days of the week. Skip this if you can. But if you do visit, you have been warned.More

So we were sitting close to the beach. But we couldn’t see the sea, and there was no breeze. Why? A hedge blocked both. We used to love coming here, the lovely views, the refreshing breeze off the sea. Then it was ‘improved’ and a...hedge destroyed the views, and the breeze. So it needs a lot more fans, but none were installed. There are a few tables under fans, they’re easy to find, just look for the most crowded area! The stallholders protested, but nobody listened. The customers stopped coming. Now it’s only open for lunch on Friday to Sunday. On Saturday we reckon it was a lot quieter than it used to be. In the evenings it’s lively. But we need it during the day when we come to enjoy East Coast Park. Toilets are clean, as usual. There are several places where a slight change in level requires a step up or down. That’s the only problem for the disabled. Getting away on Saturday evening was difficult. Car park gridlocked. We used the app to call a taxi, but nobody wanted to come. In the end we took the bus to Bedok. Cheap and simple solution. We enjoyed a really tasty meal at a low price. And the drink seller remembered us from 3 years ago. But we won’t be going back, until they get rid of the hedgeMore

Food, drinks and service are great! But after renovation the cooling breeze from the sea is blocked by a hedge and it is terribly hot. The smoking area for this huge capacity of this Hawker is a ridiculous place of 2x2 m far outside the...center. Real diversity is different, for sure.More

Doesn't taste like Thai food at all. Unit is close to ATM area. Not authentic as the cook doesn't seem to be Thai.

Located on the East Coast , a hawker Center in reality. Good local food at decent prices. It’s open air and there’s no aircon. As it’s by the beach , one hopes for a nice Breeze to go along with the food . If dietary...is not a restriction , try the pigs trotters prepare with ginger and vinegar and the ‘spare parts’ . Goes well with rice ! They open around noon . The sugar cane water stalls goes well with the food and the heat . Alternatively , the satay is good too and they open for business slightly later. Overall , wide selection . Decent prices . Car Park is not quite an issue . Nice location by the beach . Worth to go . But do note - it’s soon to be closed for renovation. Do check it out before heading there .More

Good hawker center with awesome satay and sugarcane juice! If you are in ECP, try satay at Rahim Ayam Penyet Satay Istemewa! Highly recommend. Delicious. Also try the sugarcane juice in the nearby stall. It's huge portion as well.

There is a good variety of stores there to enjoy/try local hawker dishes. Some of the local favorites that you must have there will be satay, sambal stringray, cockles and clams, fried oyster egg, grilled chicken wings and grilled crabs. Enjoy them with a coconut...or beer. While the place is not air-conditioned, it is not that hot there because of the sea breeze. The stores there mostly only accept cash so do bring enough. There are also ATM machines available. Before you leave, remember to look out for the elderly couple who sell roasted chestnuts by the entrance. It is very yummy!More

It was the best place to have satay in Singapore. The view was straight to the beach so it was very nice to chill there. You can order from different counters with different kind of food and their special dish - satay. I ordered scallops,...beef satay and coconut water. Everything was so fresh and tasted really good. Sauce was very good and I thought spicy sauce fit satay so well. Coconut water was not sweet but it tasted fresh. It felt really like summer!More
