The convenor for our monthly lunch gathering chose Por Kee as he is familiar with the restaurant's signature dishes. Many of the group has not been to this restaurant for a long time. Also, for a long time, the group has not been having full attendance. For...this month,we had the perfect ten to savour a good Cantonese meal. We ordered a number of their signature dishes. Top of the list is the champagne pork ribs. Each rib was of good size. The item came with a knife and can be half a meal itself. The life fish was cooked thai style. A good change from the standard Chinese cooking. The egg omelette with prawns was well done. The roast chicken was better than what you get in Chinese restaurants. This restaurant close on mondays and is very popular. On major festival days, you will need to book early to enjoy the air condition part of the restaurants. The open air enclosures can accomodate double of the ac seating. The consensus was the food was very good and was good value for moneyMore

Very good traditional zi char in an old style zi char restaurant setting with air condition. Their signature dish is the champagne long ribs ($10 per rib) was very well marinated, juicy & tender. We also enjoyed the braided e-fu noodles which had rich blend...of taste socked up in the noodles.More

They increase price from 1st day of CNY till 15th days of CNY. Even CNY is over on the 16th days, they continue to charge higher price at CNY rate , approximate 20-40% higher. They said they going to close for 1 week so they...continue to increase price even pass 15th days of CNY. What sort of excuse is that? Increasing price from 1st to 15th days of CNY is already super long, they even continue to increase even pass 15th days of CNY . Very dishonest owner.More

Personally I found the price is steep. 4 pax dinner at $169, no fish, no seafood. One bottle of tiger beer costing $8.60 and one fried bun is $1,.20, which is $12 for 10 buns. Moreover, is coffeeshop environment. LOL.

We went with friends for a mid week dinner. You can always tell if a restaurant is good by how busy it is with locals and Por Kee doesn’t disappoint. And in typical style, it’s very full between 6-9pm and then quiet down significantly. So...certainly worth booking a table. It’s a bit “rough and ready” with indoor and outdoor seating and an overflow area that extends into the car park when it gets really busy. It’s a real authentic Chinese restaurant with a very rustic feel to it.....round tables and plastic seats!! The staff and very welcoming and friendly with varying commands of English which just adds to the whole experience. The menu is extensive with all the usual suspects from a Chinese restaurant and it tastes delicious. We particular liked the chili crab and prawns! It is a BYOB restaurant if you want wine - however they do sell Tiger lager. Overall it’s a very enjoyable experience and very easy on the wallet. We will definitely go back.More

Great dinner for famished tourists and locals. Nice selection of dishes seafood, meat and veg. The steamed fish oozing in a sweet sour pool of plum sauce is as fresh as the morning DEW! and it gets served on a flamed dish. The BBq spare...ribs are the best we have ever tasted.....the tongue just holds onto its tasty flavours...can say finger licking good! The tofu dish is as smooth as silk and tasty so is the sweet potato veg dish. If I'm a local I'll be a weekly restaurant guest as I have more to try out! Until my next Singapore visit... I'll be dreaming of that fresh fish oozing with taste!More

Friendly staff and prompt service. There was a corkage charge of $5 per bottle. We ordered HK steamed sea bass for $45, Salted egg prawn $22, champagne long run at $10 ea and Kangkong belacan $15 for 3 pax. The seabass meat was tasty and...its size was too big for 3 of us. We loved the long, tasty and juicy rib. The veggie was not overcooked and not too salty with the belacan. The small size of the prawns with salted egg was just OK. Total bill $128.More

We went in a group of 7 & ordered a variety of food. The food was yummy! The steamed fish was excellent, crab was sweet & firm, the signature pork rib was a little too sweet for my liking, the homemade tofu was very smooth...& tasty, the lala beehoon was delicious... We didn't have to wait very long for our food though the place so packed with diners that we had to sit outside since the air-con section was fully booked. The restaurant is conveniently located next to a big carpark. Price was very reasonable ($30-$40 per pax) & the service was friendly. We will definitely be back again!More

A place to know in Singapore. Air con in the main dining room, but a nice outdoor area with pleasant ty of tables available. The street is pretty quiet, so our dinner was quite pleasant and good. Nice selection of Chinese dishes, fish, seafood, meat,...rice, noodles etc Their chilli clams were great, finger licking delicious! Good venaison too, great vegetables and rice : we really enjoyed our meal there. Service was good, and the beer too... Reasonable pricing at 30 to A$40 per head: it was worth it. Eager to go back and sample more dishes.More
