Upon entering, you walked into 1980s. The atmosphere and service feel exactly 1980s. You are greeted with a blackboard of menu items. Wagyu steak is available, but to me wagyu shouldn't be eaten as steak. Personal preference.
Wine list is on a good list but pricey choices too. Only 1 label by the glass is available. Few half bottles available too. Just ask if you are not sure!

I appreciate that they served hot food with hot plate, cold food with cold plate. My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here for many years. Standard of food has been consistent. Service is impeccable as always.

all hip mainstream modern restos booked out? go to the tavern for an international / European / Asia fusion dinner in an retro serene atmosphere. excellent wagyu beef from Japan to Australia. well prepared fish - the Dover Sole recommendable. fresh made Swiss Raclette as Starter! the original Crêpe Suzette prepared and flambé at the table as dessert is a must. the meal accompanied by a classy Italian red wine and the dessert rounded up by a Martell gordon bleu brandy plus all dishes presented appealingly plus this kind of surrounding made it a feast for all senses. Expensive yes - in our case about 300 SNG / P - regret? No!

Absolutely terrible service and terrible food. The seafood served was frozen and not fresh. And the main course never came so after 90 minutes of waiting we had to leave because they were totally disorganised with appalling attitude

I’ve frequented The Tavern many times over the years but I’m dismayed by the diminishing quality. The bread that came first was cold and dry, and the butter was more like margarine.
The oysters and escargot were great though.
The pork chops and steaks were insufficiently seasoned and very very average.
The baked Alaska was made of old ice cream but the crepe suzette was good as usual.
The service was efficient but perfunctory even though the restaurant had only 3 tables filled that night. The ambience was very good as usual.
I hope the Tavern focuses on the quality of its fare more as it would be a shame to lose one of the old timer restaurants due to diminishing quality.
I would have given The Tavern an average rating but for the pricing being on the high side for the food we got.

This is a classic place for Swiss food. Great place to try the Raclette and the Foie Gras . The preparations are based on the traditional Frech cooking techniques and prepared to the right point. The place is like been in a Swiss chalet and the decoration is a little space of Switzerland in Singapore. We went for a couple dinner and the service was Excellent. The wine list is French with great labels.

My husband and I live just down the road from this place and assumed from the outside that it was just a casual pub. We thought we would check it out last night and went on in. What a wonderful surprise we got. Lovely small intimate restaurant with linen tablecloths and and crystal wine glasses. We had fantastic food, fried Brie, rack of lamb and a veal and mushroom dish. It was all so nice we have already made reservations to go back with some friends. The service was fantastic despite the fact we showed up in t-shirts and shorts! Great place for dinner!

Pure class. Exceptional service and amazing delicious food ! We had raclette, fois gras, and escargot for appetizers, followed by steaks then the table side flambéed cherries jubilee. Incredible wine list !

The Tavern is a small restaurant with only few tables. Tables are covered with nice table cloths.
We eat first the fresh lever and the prawn salad-very delicious. For main we have the steak rossini and the steak with prawn. The steaks were one of the best we ever eaten. Also the different icecream were unbelievable.

Went there some months back were very good. Went there tonight was greatly disappointed by the poor quality of food there. We tried the crispy calamari, fish & chips. Both were over fried & taste worst than hawker food. Told the waitress but no respond. Didn't expect to pay for these prices and have such quality and service. Do not recommend and will not go back again

Arrived at the restaurant on time for our new year's eve dinner and we were told that no table available. This was totally unacceptable and ridiculous. My booking was made 2 weeks before the new year! Nobody seems bothered and it was the worst experience ever with such an encounter. Never will visit this place again! Not reccomended!

Other than getting your food and beverage served, don’t expect anything else. Maybe it’s because I ordered a Lower range bottle of wine costing $98, thus the attitude.
Food is decent, contributing to the 2 star rating.
There are many other restaurants which offer the same kind of food at this price.
My first and last visit.

Waiter did not wear his mask properly and was rude. Owner was rude and did not understand basic English language. Food was mediocre. No wonder there was only 4 tables for the entire dinner service.
