Located at Chinatown in a restored Chinese shophouse. Except for the facade is a modern restaurant over 2 floors. Menu is limited but certainly a style of home cooking is being felt. The crab curries is well known from black pepper, chilli, egg yolk or...behoon soup type. Others such as crispy chicken skin, cucumber pickles, sweet sour pork tastes good. Old school recipes. The Chili crab is sweet n yet creamier than many others. Price is mid to high. Crabs were on the higher end and yet their speciality! Dessert with Mango sago andMore

Ordered the set menu for 4 pax and this is made up of dishes from each segment like light bites, meats etc.  For us, we wanted to try out most of the things so we decided that the set menu was best. We made our...reservation for 5pm and were delighted that there was an early bird discount of 20%. The chilled crunchy cucumber was a good starter and the crispy chicken skins needed more flavour because it was a bit bland.  The sweet sour pork was very good because the pork had a good mix of lean and fatty meat so it was moist and tender.  We ordered the cereal squid because the rest didn't appeal to us.  The squid was a bit too tough to chew so we cleared up the cereal which we liked. We had the salted fish bean sprout and it could do with less oil.  The salted fish fried rice was good with small chunks of salted fish.  For the 2 crab dishes, we chose the salted egg yolk one and were told that the butter one was similar so we decided on the crab bee hoon soup instead.  The salted egg yolk crab was good with ample creamy sauce but the crab bee hoon soup was like another rice dish and we really had too much to eat in the end.  I didn't really like the crab bee hoon soup because the crab didn't taste good without a sauce.  We really loved the mantou which were big and fried so that they were crispy on the outside but fluffy inside. Dessert was an aiyu jelly which I didn't quite like.  In the past, they had ice cream and I think I would have preferred that. The restaurant is rather small but service was excellent.  There were packets of cutlery and nut cracker and a tool for digging the crab meat embedded deep within.  They also had buckets for our crab shell.  This makes the experience more pleasant and although aprons were available, we didn't want them. Each crab dish is $58 and I think their crabs are consistently fresh and big.  This makes it easier for diners who don't know how to choose their crabs and don't want surprises in the price of crabs when weighed. The staff even took a picture for us and when we paid, they gave the photo to us as a gift.  They even emailed me a soft copy of the photo the next day. Would I return to Momma Kong's?  Definitely!  But next time, I would probably choose my own dishes instead of having the set meal so that I don't overeat.  The crabs and mantou will definitely be on my list of must haves.More

A wonderful dining experience! Loved the black pepper crab, spicy chicken 🌶 butter crayfish 🦞, prawn 🦐 rice, veggies, buns and the chocolate ice cream 🍨. The service was excellent and so was the fresh seafood we ate. The chilled pickled cucumbers were nice and...crunchy. We loved the cereal squid as well, which offered a nice flavour. The mala chicken was simply outstanding ! We will surely be back here again soon for another indulgence over this quintessential Singaporean restaurant, which we absolutely love.More

I had made a reservation for dinner and booked a table for 4pax. Our table was ready as soon as we arrived. We ordered the meal for 2, which was to share and a few other dishes from the menu. The black pepper crab was...juicy, fresh and flavorful. The buttery crayfish was yummy as well and the rich thick gravy was smooth. The buns were a bit too oily to be honest. The prawn rice was cooked well and was delicious. The vegetables were nicely sautéed. The chocolate ice cream was yummy and was served with wafer. The portion is very good and the service is friendly and attentive. We will surely be back here again soon.More

Stumbled upon this place by chance & was pleasantly surprised. The staff are young, friendly, vibrant & helpful. Small, simple decor & very popular so best to make a reservation. They are focused on seafood & predominantly the many varieties of crab (chili crab being...the famous Singaporean dish) & all the seafood dishes we tried were very fresh & flavoursome. You can tell the seafood is fresh (not frozen) & all the sauces & spices are home made. One of if not the best Black Pepper Crab we've had in Singapore.More

I had the chili crab with bread. I have only been to Singapore one time and ate chili crab only at this one place, so I cannot compare with chili crab with other places, but it was very good. Is pretty expensive but then it...is a fairly small place. I came when Covid was just beginning, so I was the only customer during most of my meal, thus I spent the meal talking to the owners. Service naturally was great.More

We ordered chilli crab, crab bee hoon & a side of mantous for delivery. Crab bee hoon was absolutely pathetic. The broth & noodles were at max for 1 person only. I've never had crab bee hoon where the portion would be for 1 person...to eat only. It seems like they only had the small containers for takeaway hence they just gave us whatever the small container could carry. As you know, crab is not cheap so providing a standard size of bee hoon & broth should not be difficult. Mantous were large and soaked with oil so I couldn't even finish 1. In terms of flavour, the bee hoon broth was tasty. The chilli crab is not the classic sweet savoury type that we're used to from Jumbo, but it tasted a little more tart like blended chillis - the best way I know how to describe it. With so many other crab places around, I will definitely never ever order/dine in at this place again.More

We went there with our small kids after reading reviews and we were satisfied with the food. It was not the best chilli crab restaurant I had been in Singapore but it was ok. The restaurant is small but seating was adequately convenient. Spent SGD...150 and the amount of food was sufficient.More

We ordered yesterday as we were craving some crab and salted egg prawns, and we were very disappointed, the crab wasn’t so bad but the prawns were really far from what we were expecting, even the prawn fried rice was tasteless and the fried buns...looked like they were soaked in oil ! I didn’t put one star because the ingredients tasted freshMore

Definitely not fine dining but good to visit. Contemporary cafe style. Went went for the flavour not the dining experience

Hi NanJeedd C, Thanks for your query. In most restaurants in Singapore, prices of Sri Lankan crab are generally charged by weight and by "market price" which we would advise you to check before you place your order. At... More
