Despite being only half full during our visit, the restaurant seemed to be short-staffed and having difficulty providing a good service. The amount of attention that the manager (I think) showered to the table beside us (VIPs, presumably) compared to the dismissive attitude shown to...us made me feel rather unimportant. We excitingly booked for Nostalgic Dim Sun Feast to bring our parents. When we were seated, we were told that the one serving menu would be taken care of and we could order the unlimited menu by scanning QR code with unique numbers at each...table. This system is good and we like the ease. We are surprised that food served not long after ordering but when we finished what we ordered from the unlimited we were left puzzled as all others tables served with the one serving dishes and we haven’t got any of it. We told a waitress about it and she left without coming back. We then approached the supervisor. Patricia approached us and before I can finished my sentence, she cut with “你们order什么？” So all we could reply is a simple “buffet”. Patricia left without saying anything and she didn’t tell us what happened. She went pass us times and we decided to looked at her, to remind her that there’s a pending question here. She noticed, she said “你们点的东西进了！” while walking away. Just like that! Not even a stop and we definitely would not be expecting a polite service for her. We were shocked with this terrible attitude. Then we noticed the way Patricia served other patrons is the same, impatient and rude. We booked for this experience expecting a decent lunch with elderly and we are paying for it. It’s in Parkroyal mind you. On the other hand, Kavi that served us tea is your valuable asset. She kept our tea filled and she kept checking with us if we have our orders served. She also explained more on the food, and did very well small talks with patrons. We expressed our grievances on Patricia and Kavi apologized on behalf. She assured us that she’ll personally taking charge on our table. Patricia definitely need to learn from Kavi in service line values. Will we return to Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant @ Parkroyal Kitchener Road? Definitely not. But if we get to know where Kavi works next, we would love to visit her again.More

It was a very pleasant experience we had at SCDH celebrating my parents wedding anniversary. The staffs were very professional and warm. Most importantly, the food was delicious. Love the suckling pig! The beancurd dessert which is their signature is a must try! Special mention...to the restaurant manager, Patricia Chan who went the extra mile to decorate the room for us. It was indeed a pleasant surprise for my parents who entered the restaurant. She delivered a beyond expectation service to our family. Thank you!More

The food at this restaurant is really top notch. Prices are fair given the quality. Portions are generally family-size. Service at both the Kitchener Road and the UOB outlets is however so-so: really long waiting time (count on 45 mins) and it is often hard...to get the attention of staff, soup is served after main dish, main dish without rice ( though it was ordered) etc..More
