Only one type of soba- cold. I prefer it in hot soup. The staff was kind to get it done hot for me but does not come in soup . The soba noodles tasted fresh and healthy . The tempura that came with it consists...of one prawn. Other places serve at least two pieces.More

I booked this restaurant by Chope but the table is not ready and they excused their arrangement. Need to use Ipad to order food. But there are too many kinds of dishes and really hard to find what we want. Also because of Ipad order...system, this restaurant has only a few servants at the floor and always busy and no attention to customers. Totally bad service and uncomfortable experience. We had a pleasant Sunday evening dinner in this casual Japanese eatery. It overlooks the MRT track so kids enjoy the view of the trains while eating. There’s a substantial kids set meal with a mix of Western and Japanese popular dishes - tempura, udon,...edamame, karage, French fries and more. I enjoyed the grilled chicken and the beef rice bowl. Yuzu Soda drink was so refreshing that I ordered a second one! Service was somewhat grumpy but fast. Thankfully orders are by iPad so you don’t really need a conversation with the servers.More

I love their sushi rolls, sashimi is usually fresh, udon and rice bowls are great too. Sometimes service is a bit slow.

Another alternative dining option for Japanese food other than itacho. Personally at itacho, will go for the sashimi or seafood items. But at watami, we prefer to order the cooked items like beef bowl, tempura, etc. Pretty good tasting and prices are acceptable. Service can...be slow at times. Overall still a good place to have Japanese cuisine.More

Only would recommend if you are searching for good food, not hungry and have a lot of spare time. The food there is honestly the only redeeming factor of the place. It was my 2nd time there, hoping that things would have improved, but it...only got worse. The menus they provided only had the set meal for 2 people and above. Only the ipad that we are supposed to use to order had the other items. Kind of no point of a menu if all of us had to share one ipad anyway. Waiting times for food was quite drastic. One of our food came quite quickly, and I was quite impressed. However, the other 2 meals came so late that the first person had basically finished their food already. So we had to watch them eat, and then later they had to watch us eat. Even worse was that 2 waiters walked away while we were in the midst of talking to them. I think that was my first time experiencing that. The place was not even full, but they just kept walking away while we were in the middle of our sentence. Almost at the end of our meal, the table beside us left so a staff went to clean it. They sprayed sone disinfectant that I could feel landing all over my arms and legs. There was a very strong smell of something resembling nail varnish remover. I do not really mind it, but it did bring up questions about the safety of the food. Is the cleanser safe? It landed all over us, so it definitely entered some of our food as well. Overall dissatisfied. The food was undeniably good and better than average. However, one of my family's impresion of the place was instantly ruined before they finished their food, and it was clear that to us that these other factors can affect how we view the food there. Probably not going to go back unless I have a lot of time to spare and looking for nice food.More

Came in here hoping to get some sushi. Not many sushi selection .the rolls are rather impressive but comes in 6 . More suited For larger group outing. Soba offered in cold version . Not very flexible to do it in hot soup. The unagi...and beef bowl was delicious. Sashimi was averge tasting. Sushi tei or sushi bar had yummier tasting ones.. staff were shorthandle although it was offpeak.More

However was slightly disappointed that their staff was very uptight when my friend (who was a student) forgot to bring his student card and was unable to get the student priced items, while only I was able to get. Food was...served very quickly, even before my friend ordered his food, mine was already served.More

The main attraction for this restaurant from my point of view is the beef stew that is a tower of meat that comes with a massive pile of cabbage and beansprouts with the broth. It was light in flavour, but still filling enough for one...big eater. The yakiniku bowl was subpar, there was more rice than meat, and the portion was measly. The ambience is perfect for a group of friends to have a meal to catch up over, but the glaring afternoon may put you off. Plan your time of visit wisely!More

tried their extreme tendon , it was very generous portion and taste good, the tendon came with 1 big big fish and 2 tempura, 1 pc of chicken, onsen egg and vegetables at affordable price.

Had dinner there in group of 7. Quality of food was good and reasonably priced. However, the quality of service has room for improvement: I guess it could be due to only 4 waiting staff managing weekend diners. Nonetheless I'd commend the Indian and young...Chinese guy waiting staff who tried to attend to our requests, although it took a while. Overall would recommend this restaurant though would love to see better service (or at least some smiles) from the staff.More
