I feel cheated with my takeaway order where I ordered the 2nd largest portion of their signature steamed chicken, which the service staff said it would be good for 4 persons and would consist of half a chicken and more. However when I reached home,...mostly breast meat and no sign of the drumstick and thigh meat. Does half a chicken not consist of one drumstick!? As I was not rating at the restaurant, I did not get to see what the guy put in the box but this is sheer cheating. It is not right at all and to be honest, it was not a four person portion and it is unfortunately not even enough for my family of three adults and one child.More

Good old comfort food for such trying times. The chicken, rice and chilli are very good as expected. Other dishes to try are yam bowl, sweet sour pork, fried tofu

We tried their roast chicken this time round, the skin is so crispy and it tasted more like fried chicken. The chicken is fresh and good. We also ordered side dish of chicken liver which is too much just for 2... and stir fried cubes...of Long bean, peanut & tau Kwa. I felt the rice was abit hard but my husband said it’s ok. We ordered 1 white spring chicken as the waitress said it’s not very big but turns it is very big! The portions are all huge. We were stuffed by the end of the meal. Half roast chicken is enough for 2 pax!More

One of the most important aspects of chicken rice is getting the chicken poached perfectly and the chilli just right. This place does both extremely well. Simple setting, but air-conditioned. Comfortable and welcoming. I would stick to what it does best and order the chicken...rice. Would definitely go back if I was in the area.More

A great place some of the best chicken rice. The chicken is always soft and full of flavour. The rice is light and fluffy. We had the soft tofu which falls apart in your mouth. Delicious. The venison was also tender. Worth a visit if...you are in the area.More

The chicken rice at Boon Tong Kee East Coast road is to die for. It is so fragrant and tasty. Not too oily and yet not dry. The white chicken is preferred to the roast chicken, as I feel once roasted it tends to get...a little dry, compared to the steamed chicken. Chicken rice is a favourite meal for me and I have it at least six times a month, sometimes more. I also had some at the Balestier road branch, and it was as good. While most chicken rice restaurants are 4 stars, Boon Tong Kee is for sure 5 stars.More

Boon Tong Kee has a great reputation for fantastic chicken rice and this East Coast outlet definitely impressed us! We were in a rush for an appointment but we still managed to enjoy our meal, with thanks to the swift clearing of tables and orders....I loved that most of the staff were very friendly and courteous throughout the experience, even though there were lots of other customers. The white chicken rice dish was so delicious that we ordered one more portion to satisfy our appetite. The deep fried tofu was a pleasant surprise as it was crispy on the outside yet so smooth on the inside. Do not expect prices to be as cheap as chicken rice at a regular coffee shop, but they are still very reasonable for the high quality. We will be back!More

We ordered the followings: 1) Salad prawn - good taste 2) Beancurd - okay 3) Fried prawn paste roll - okay 4) Veg with 3 different types of...egg - okay 5) the restaurant speciality food, chicken - not up to expectation. 6) drinks Overall, the foods there is just average and not worth in term of the pricing.More
