When doing web search for "Hawker" in SG, this place certainly is in the list. Unfortunately, that's for the fact where its more catered or 'known' for tourists rather than authentic Singaporean food. Talked to a few locals, and they don't go here anymore, which...is evident as when you're there, you'll notice majority of the crowd are not locals. Going to the food, not sure if we picked a wrong choice (but we went to 2 stores), both are very bland, and pricey for the quality of food you'll get. The place is certainly accessible, has a lot of food choices, but in my personal opinion, don't expect much on the food. Heard other Hawker nearby are more decent and better.More

I would rate this location reasonable. It's one of the best places to come in Singapore for inexpensive food for the family. Satay street right next door is the highlight.

Hawker food centre in the middle of CBD. I had an amazing roast duck and fish. A lot of office workers go there during lunch break so best to go before or after to ensure a seat. bring cash and your own napkins!

Okay, so this is not a Michelin star resto but a quintessential Singaporean experience, very busy in the evenings, chaotic and inexpensive. Eating under a covering outside that has been in existence since the late 1800s. Tons of Asian and South Asian food hawkers. I...chose one of the Indian hawkers and the food was very good. Squeezed into a shared table with a bunch of locals and enjoyed a good mealMore

Very busy place. After sunset the road is also used as restaurant. Several choices. Most are good. Can have beer also. If you want a quiet and peaceful place, then this is not for you. If you want a lively and inexpensive food, this is...for you.More

Horrendous Experience. i just had a surgery and had waited awhile standing elseswhere. So i just wanted to walk over to check it out. The staff seems to have difficulty speaking politely. was chased off when i wasnt even obstructing traffic. i mean its a...public place and that it is not even very crowded. cant they speak nicely and why do they have to act like they owe the road? its public... geez. they are not entitled to the public place. rather than yelling why cant they spend time better speaking politely or soliciting for more orders? an utter disgrace to the Singapore culture. *Facepalm*More

Hi there. I would rate this place 0 stars if I could. Extremely hot and noisy ambience with rude staff and awful food. None of the food resembles the photographs on the billboard at all. I ordered a duck noodle that was meant to come...with a green lettuce leaf. Instead it came without the lettuce and was so oily I could only eat three bites of it before feeling nauseous. My father’s chicken rice was of a similar standard. Awful quality - just a tourist gimmick. This was not the main issue. The cashier of this food stall was an obnoxious woman who shouted at me for not ordering to her first - I initially tried to speak to her colleague who was doing the cooking while she was on the cashier. I felt like she was unnecessarily rude to me for not knowing how to order (this is the first time I have visited this place). I then proceeded to hand her a 2 dollar bill by accident and she shouted at me ‘5 dollars 90 not 2 dollars!’ Again I felt like she was being unnecessarily aggressive to me. I actually overheard her colleague whisper something to her to which she responded in Chinese, ‘What? I didn’t shout at her.’ But because I can understand Chinese (she didn’t know that) I knew she had intent behind being aggressive. It seemed like her colleague was calling her out for being rude too. After a short while of eating, I became angry and confronted her with my father. She continued to deny anything, saying she had simply shouted because of the noise. But I was certain at that point she was trying to cover herself as she eventually gave in and apologised. So - any tourists, do not visit here. The food is awful and the staff are horrible and arrogant. Do not let yourself take aggro from these staff and spend your money on authentic cuisine with nicer ambience and air conditioning.More

This is a great hawker market for an authentic Singaporean dining experience. I've been to the Newton Food Center and liked this one better. It is covered and has fans with a nice breeze to offset the Singapore heat. Food prices were very reasonable and...there were a vast array of dining choices available. The Turkish restaurant (can't remember the name - but there is only one) was outstanding.More

Always a favourite location. Plenty of options available to chose from with beyond reasonable pricing to boot. The lines can get crazy busy (45 mins for satay skewers) but if you don't want to wait you are spoilt by other choices. When you arrive, if...you can grab yourself a table as home base and then take turns exploring for options. If you are alone, many people throw an umbrella/jacket on a seat to hold it while they grab their food.More

This place is more frequented by tourists. Great place for Singapore visitors to experience the Singapore’s UNESCO hawker fares. The most popular corner is the satay corner where there is usually a long queue to order the yummy satay (skewed meat with peanut sauce). The...grilled prawn here is also very good but rather pricey. There are many other local dishes under one roof. Recommended if you are around the area but you can get similar anywhere else in shopping malls or residential areas food court.More

I wasn't sure about the ratty overcooked satay sticks, but after I ordered 10 at my partners behest, they said my order would take 30 minutes despite having loads ready to go. "Small orders wait til last". In that case no thanks. They wanted to...push me to order a S$28 order of skewers. No thanks. Waste of time and effort.More

Convenient location. It was little bit hot inside but ceiling fans there. There were numerous food stalls. Foods were delicious and could taste hawker foods at reasonable prices. Must visit.

Worst place ever. Previously they had fresh fruit juice store. Suddenly they removed it 2 weeks back. If you want to drink juice don’t come here. Not much options here.

Great place with lots of different food options. Satay street on the side opens at 19:00. Beer station is good, cheap. Portions are big.
