During Circuit Breaker, the restaurant offered 50% discount off selected ala-carte dishes. Glad to return for dining after renewing my Life & Style membership. This is the last year they are offering the membership and all vouchers expiry is extended until Dec 2021. Membership fee has reduced with more vouchers offered. As usual, our favorite dishes are Kurobuta pork, Spicy Fish Soup, Chill Prawn and Hot & Sour Soup. Will be back for the Peking Duck.

Had a lovely dinner. The restaurant set up is classy and cosy, not forgetting the lovely view from the seats along the windows. The London Duck and Mapo Toufu is exceptional that we ordered a 2nd order. Food is flavourful and served in timely manner and not rushed, perfect for a relaxing dinner gathering to savour the exquisite culinary skills. Host Eileen is superb in the services rendered and very attentive throughout. All other staffs are very friendly and polite. 5 Stars for all of you! Thumbs up from all of us at dinner and will definitely visit again!

Had lunch with family with two full tables of ten each. Good serving by serving crew and reception but food was slow, even when restaurant was not even half full,. Food was good like other well known restaurants but the Beijing Duck was not comparable to others. Asked for complimentary parking for four cars but was only given two, was told that each table only entitled to one complimentary ticket (because parking is not cheap. more expensive than ION) Thus a table for two is also given one complimentary ticket, same as a table for ten. Go elsewhere if you have more people dining.

I had been to this restaurant in a space of 4 days in a week, once with a friend and the other in the evening to host a business dinner. While food is nothing impressive or great to shout about especially the mapo tofu which in my opinion was supposedly the trademark but faired far worst than its sister chain of eateries CHEN'S. Some items are probably better than others, like perhaps the vegetables with truffle and mushroom, although at 30 bucks a dish but they taste pretty good. Duck was ok, the 2nd round when duck was cooked with spring onion was surprisingly better than the wraps. Then there is the service staff all senior citizens, aunties in their late 60s and 70s. They were lovely people however they overdo it. I came on a Saturday lunch and they were rushing to collect plates when we still have food on the platters, something I couldn't understand at all. And on a weekday night, they did the same too plus more by asking me non stop, if I should split the share for you, shall I pour more tea for you, can I give you the bill now when It was 850pm! Can you believe it, asking me if I can serve you the bill? I mean come on? Isn't this supposed to be Michelin gourmand or Michelin starred? Can't they see it is a business dinner, asking me non stop how should I split the dish, every meal they were asking and even clearing the plates before we barely even touch the dish? My clients basically left everything there without eating, because they were asking every of the 5 dish we ordered shall we split for you guys by apportioning it? If that's your policy then do it, don't interrupt our talking non stop! Even bringing the second bottle of wine to test with someone on the dinner table talking the whole night! I honestly think service staffs should be trained to take initiative, that was a huge table which can sit 8 easily and we were 4, there was enough seats and after 3 dishes down if you see that apportioning to individual diners and they are not even eating, you should stop doing it. And also don't ask stupid questions like shall I serve this dish now after every dish has been served. That being said I am still coming, but you need to stop this nonsense, also I saw at least 2 of the same staff I saw 4 days earlier. Please do something about this!

The food was sometimes good sometimes below average. The 5 dish appetiser the roast beef and the pork were good the prawn bland the chicken and jellyfish poor. The wagyu with foie gras 2 pieces excellent the other 2 very chewy. The asparagus with crab meat quite ok the rib excellent. The tofu so so Service started good but fell away sharply. One younger woman thought it her job to snatch everything away as soon as you almost finished The sommelier was good Expensive for what it is

Hard to believe that this restaurant was awarded any star by the Michelin. Arriving at 08:45pm, we are informed that the time for last order is set at 09:15pm. The signature dish of 5 appetizers presented as the Chef's choice includes: a tiny pot of Jellyfish bathed in vinager, two slices of roastbeef, one poached shrimp (plain) and two other microscopic items, so insignificant that I forgot them. When ordering the next course, no more abalone, no more spring onion...Having opted for the Peking duck, all pancakes were cold.Eventually, we took a Wagyu beef with Japanese peppers, a recommandation from the head waitress. Looks like a piece of overcooked beef dropped in the Harpic liquid used to clean the lavatories Really to be avoided

We arrived at the Hilton excited to try out a new experience for us - the Szechuan tasting menu! The service was friendly and polite, however the food left a lot to be desired. Each dish was fairly bland, and it felt like the tasting menu was a highlight of expensive ingredients used poorly. We had wagyu 2x, black truffle, abalone, lobster, crab and birds nest 2x, and yet the most exciting dish was the mapo tofu which we ordered separately. A minor thing but the dishes also kept being cleared away while one of us was still eating which I wouldn't expect. The most jarring thing about the evening however wasn't the food, but the way the other guests were permitted to behave. A table close to ours had their young son watching cartoons incredibly loudly on an iPad. He then proceeded to bang two metal pots or cups together to get his parents attention, whilst everyone looked on in horror. The parents and the waiters didn't seem to mind that it was completely spoiling the experience for everyone else. Someone from the kitchen then came out to come and greet the family so there must have been some connection that warranted them not being asked to stop their son ruining everyone else's evening. Overall I left feeling disappointed and surprised this restaurant has 2 michelin stars, as it doesn't have any of the polish you would expect.

I ordered the Mapo Doufu Donburi through a takeaway service and was blown away by the meal. First of all, it cost $16 which is a great deal for this food. The sauce was meaty, a bit spicy, and complex. I have never before eaten tofu of this texture and it was delicious - smooth and silky somewhere between baked brie and panna cotta. While this is no substitute for the full dining experience I was able to get a taste of the truly special food when my time and budget did not permit the full experience. I wish more places would do this!

First of all, I need to qualify that this view is taken with the consideration of Shisen Hanten being a 2 Michelin Star restaurant. We took the 190++ Set Menu & overall the dishes were delicately executed with some hits & misses. We started with 5 signature appetizers which were fairly interesting but overall muted without much excitement. Next came a variation to the traditional 'sharks fin soup' whereby the sharks fin was replaced with birds nest. It was a clever idea & dish was well executed just as a good Chinese restaurant would have. We were then served with a "chilli crab" dish but instead of crab, lobster was used. Again, delicately done dish with a more refined chilli crab sauce but didn't quite see the reason for a lobster as the crab would've done the same job since lobster wasn't exactly very robust in sweetness. Mantou on the side was very good with the refined sauce though! London Roast Duck was probably one of the highlights. Half a duck for 2 of us which was quite a bit of meat! Lightly crisp skin with a moderate gamey sweetness from the tender duck, especially the breast...Herbal 'broth' which probably came from the marinade within the duck mixed with its juice is herby & salty, a light dip brings a good depth to the umami duck. Next came a truffle sauce miyazaki beef, the weakest dish of the day. Truffle flavour completely overpowers the flavour of miyazaki & the sauce seems to be missing some seasoning as it was just truffley with some very, very light saltiness. This seems to be an experimental dish which unfortunately was a dud. Up next is the Mapo Tofu with rice. Do note that we were really, really stuffed & the set is feeling monotonous due to multiple dishes that are relatively oily & heavy in flavours. However, Mapo Tofu and rice on its own is the best version of Mapo Tofu we've had to date. Moderate heat with a good amount of numbing, decently salty & when paired with the rice, brings about bout after bout of salivation! Still...Flavour wasn't consistent for both of us. Wife's Mapo Tofu dish has less saltiness, making it rather boring whereas mine had the perfect amount of savoury balance. Last dish is the only refreshing dish we've got tonight. A simple but well executed bowl of Double Boiled Hashima with Ginseng & Red Dates. Overall the set could've been better thought out for balance in portion & flavour layering. Waitresses despite friendly need to improve on dish timing as whole service was rushed & haphazard.

We visited today to celebrate my parents' birthday. Although the price of the brunch set menu has drastically increased since last year, the food continues to be absolutely delicious. Each dish was beautifully presented and I particularly enjoyed the crab roe fois gras chawanmushi, dim sum platter, mapo tofu and dessert. The only dish that disappointed our party was the shredded pork with green chili. The service was top-notch, with Yvonne, Doris and Sannie being knowledgeable about the menu and attentive to our needs. Overall, I highly recommend Shisen Hanten to anyone looking for a great dining experience

I was pleasantly surprised by their weekday business set lunch (not shown on their website), at either S$42 or S$50, which is great value for a Michelin two-starred restaurant. It includes a dim sum entree of 3 types, soup, 2 out of 5 main course options, and another choice of either the famous mapo doufu or spicy noodle, plus dessert. My dining companion chose different dishes, so I was able to sample most of the options. Loved the soup, chili sauce prawns, abalone, steamed sea perch, and spicy noodle. Wasn’t a fan of the very peppery mapo doufu. They also serve wine by the glass. The interiors are very sumptuous, with high ceilings and chandeliers, and service was excellent. They serve a dim lunch menu at lunch, which I intend to try next.

Brilliant service, food and ambience at Shisen Hanten. Quite unusual but we have been at the Shisen Hanten at Hakata station in Fukuoka and were amazed to learn that there is one at home as well. The team of Yvonne, Doris, Katherine and Penny brought us great dishes. The service is very attentive, when I left my seat to get some things, they kept my soup warm and served it to me again when I came back. As for food, the lunch set was very good value, in particular the mapo tofu and dan dan noodles were very authentic ( I had been to Szechuan before and it's the real deal). Awesome experience overall!

Chawamushi was served cold, beef with foie gras was terrible, the beef was so tough and not even chewable. Overrated mapo tofu, many other restaurants in Singapore do a better job. Truly overrated, please do not waste your dollars here!

This place seemed to be in a time warp. I am sure it once was great, but now? Traditional decor, fine dining appearance, nice skyline view - yes. Food - traditional, quite OK. Service - the person serving us was very polite, but of her own admission, she said she was new and was not able to answer any of our questoins without saying she haad to refer to a senior person.
