The food and atmosphere was great in general but some of the off menu items that were recommended was overly expensive and did not meet expectations. The T-bone for sharing though asked for medium had rare bits. The seafood pasta for sharing, sauce was a little watery. These aren’t bad additions in general just that for their price, better quality would have been more enjoyable.

Great for celebrations and a good time with friends! The place has an infectious convivial atmosphere. All first timers here become repeat customers, as happened to me, my friends and my family. We’ve sat at different stations served by different people but the most memorable experience was created by Venka! Venka understands the impact of good service and boy! Did he deliver it in spades. He sure can make a good Espresso Martini cocktail based on feedback!
Now the food. It’s easily the most reasonably priced authentic and consistently delicious Italian food in Singapore. My friends and I love their street food and small plates selection which is different from the staple Italian mains, which they also do very well. I have tasted and would recommend the tasty and tender porchetta, their sandwiches, pork chop, seafood soup, seafood pasta, orrechiate with sausage and sage cream sauce, pistachio tiramisu, blackforest cake and ribeye steak. Am sure the list will continue to expand because whatever is cooking in the kitchen, it’s likely to taste great!
They have a space at the front of the restaurant displaying cookies, pizza and Italian pantry items to help aspiring home cooks whip up a basic but delicious meal. Unsurprisingly, the cookies are delicious too! And this is despite the fact that I’m particularly with how I like my choc chip cookies.
No regrets coming here. Again. And again.

First experience of IO Italian, the atmosphere and service were very good, the staff were friendly and made knowledgeable recommendations. The food was exceptional., in both quality and value. We had the seafood soup, which was generous and had a wonderful depth of flavour. We paired this with the baked eggs which were rich, indulgent and delicious. For mains we had pasta and the daily fish special, both were beautifully cooked and presented. Overall this restaurant exceeded our expectation and is highly recommended.

No proper recommendation from Italian waiter. Did our own internet research and ordered the pork belly, shrimp pasta and grilled octopus which all turned out delicious. However, the waiters kept trying to clear our dishes even when we haven’t finished and they rushed us to pay the bill. Was there for a birthday celebration which I indicated in the reservation. I understand it was a Friday night but I have never been treated this poorly.

We ordered bread, pasta and steak for 5-pax sharing as recommended by a staff. The portions were small. Bill per person was $65. We didn't even order wine or beer. Looking at printed menu, we would be better off ordering individually. Shouldn't have listened to staff's advice!

It was a Saturday evening and the restaurant was packed with pre-reservations and people walking-in. Luckily for us, we had an advanced booking. However, the servers insisted that we reserved for fewer pax until we had to show them the Chope reservation confirmation as evidence.
After seating us, they proceeded to remind us that there was a time limit to vacate our table for the next reservation. This was not made known to us at the time of reservations. As such, we were rushed through the entire dinner.
We ordered sharing servings instead of individual courses, so there were probably a bit more dishes. But the food was served so quickly that we ran out of space for the table and we had to quickly finish up/clear the plates to make space for more dishes.
The entire dinner was completed within an hour of us being showed to the table, deciding our orders and consuming the food. We barely had any time to catch-up and talk to each other throughout the dinner.
Food was ok, but the overall experience was definitely not as great.

My friend and I invited 2 guests to the restaurant for dinner yesterday. IT was a Friday evening and we made reservations. The evening started well with good food and attentive service. After our dinner, before we proceeded to order dessert, Gustav, one of the staff in service came and abruptly told us we needed to leave as he needed the table. We were shocked. My friend informed him that we were about to order dessert and coffee and he told us that regardless, he would still need our table. Then he walked away. We were shocked because this is the first time ever we have been evicted from a restaurant, despite wanting to have dessert and coffee after dinner. There was no explanation given. No apologies made. We were just told that our table was needed as there was a queue outside. My friend patronises the restauarnt almost weekly. Is this the way to treat a loyal customer? If there is a queue then manage your own bookings. Why do we have to be evicted in such a manner when we were about to have dessert after dinner? We will certainly share this very unpleasant experience with our friends and we will not bring anymore guests nor family members to this set up. This is unacceptable.

Service was a let-down with servers not greeting anyone. Generally servers seemed not bothered. Our pasta took two rounds around the restaurant while the server tried to figure out which table it was for - same person who took our order. Various juices and drinks were not available. Small plates are unique and worth a try. Homemade bread basket was warm and enjoyable. Pasta was slightly above average in total, but the homemade pasta was nice. Tiramisu and panna cotta were enjoyable. As a whole, we may do a takeaway but would not want to dine-in.

Terrible service; my group of 3 was rushed throughout dinner by the waiter who insisted we had to vacate the table in an hour by 8pm for the second seating on a weeknight. I was not informed prior when I made the booking via Chope and only upon being seated. At close to 8pm, when we wanted to order desserts, the same waiter expressed reluctance in taking our order as he insisted that we had to vacate the table. Later, upon receiving my feedback, the manager clarified that there was no double seating policy on weeknights - which meant that the waiter rushed our meal for no reason! We felt harassed throughout dinner as he was constantly checking if he could clear our plates. All in, it was an incredibly unpleasant experience. I urge the restaurant to review its service standards. I’ve been a returning customer for over two years, and while the food is always satisfactory, the service leaves little to be desired. That’s certainly not the way to treat your customers!

Went for an early family dinner and were advised upon entry that the table would be needed back after 1hr (despite having a reservation).
Restaurant was not even half full, but we had to ask several times before our order was taken.
Food (assorted pizza, pasta, bruschetta ) arrived after (too?) short waiting time.
Before the pandemic, we used to patronise this place frequently, and had good memories of fresh, tasty and delicious food. This time, neither food taste nor service quality could catch up with that.
Not an overwhelming experience and disappointed about the overall drop of quality.
Don’t think we’ll come back any time soon.

Service here is amazing! My friends and I ordered carbonara and it came out looking weird. It doesn't look creamy at all. It's soaked in oil. We wanted to take it back but we felt bad and did not say anything. 5 mins later, a waitress came over and said that she's going to take the carbonara back as she felt that this does not represent her restaurant well. This time, it turns out perfect! Cream and rich texture. Not too salty and drenched in oil. Highly recommend this restaurant!

We had a great waiter who was very friendly and helpful. We had a full course meal at a little more than 100 dollars and that included drinks. The seafood platter and soup were both full of fresh and tasty seafood. The bread bin was filled with different yummy bread and the olive oil given was generous and of great quality. Then we ended our meal with the pistachio tiramisu on the house because it was my friends bday. Very good quality, no wonder it was filled with people. If you want a romantic quiet place to talk, this is not the place and if you want good food and great service, then this is the place to be.

My girlfriend and I ordered the Bruschetta with Ham and Cheese (it was really tasty but much, much larger than expected), Burrata (super good), Orecchiette with Saffron Sauce (perfect pasta and deliciously rich sauce), Linguine with Prawns and Lemon (the best thing that evening), Braised Beef (the only disappointing thing that day) and finished off with the lemon sorbet.
If you're looking for a high class dining experience, this is not the place as it can get rather noisy when the restaurant is full. However, the service was spot on and the dishes and specials are great!

I’d a booking of table for four person at 6pm. Understand it is fully booked daily, I’d even checked with the waiter What time I’ve to give up the table so was told 8pm. At 7pm we almost finished our dinner but still chatting , out of sudden the waiter sent us our bill which we didn’t asked for in the first place. To me I really love the food but I personally feel is rude and incorrect to do this to customers . Understand Restaurant may want to make more sales by letting go the table but this can be handle in a more subtle way. Hope the management will look into this. Thank you and Merry Christmas

Our family booked for 8pm on the eve of Hari Raya. We arrived early and were admitted at about 7:45pm. The service staff were very attentive and very prompt with requests and taking orders. Food was served promptly and quality was good. I would have given 5 stars except for a service blip. At about 8:25pm, we were asked if we had ordered our dessert and when we told the staff that we had already done, we were given the bill straightaway and was told that there were groups waiting to be seated at 8:30pm. When I looked around, there were groups that were there way before us yet they weren't told to leave before 8:30pm to make way for other groups. I thought they could manage this better knowing which the arrival timing of the groups. The other thing i found a little uncomfortable was the seating arrangement, I thought it was way too crowded and tables were placed too close to each other at this time of the COVID-19 issue.
