Chapter 55 is a cosy corner cafe with a lovely ambience and practice good safe distancing measures. Service is quick, served by a small busy team. Food is delicious made with fresh ingredients and there are lots of choices on their online menu. Free WiFi...is available. I recommend the crabmeat aglio olio linguine and creme brûlée with a scoop of gelato of your choice. The 50% eatigo discount is indeed an awesome deal to try out the range of options available.More

We dropped in for @chapter_55 one-for-one lunch, which is available during weekdays, for selected items on their menu. The bistro was decked in black and brown colour theme with simple tables and chairs. The lighting was dim and it made me uneasy as I have night...blindness (nyctalopia) , which is the inability to see well at night or in poor light.  Mom had the Chicken in Brine (not 1-4-1) and it was mediocre. Potato wedges seemed like potatoes reheated so it’s overcooked and very very soggy. Chicken was not flavourful, it wasn't really worth the price (kind of expensive). Ordered calamari n buffalo wings (1-4-1) n they were MEH. The quality of calamari was seriously sub-par – the fried calamari came in the form of huge rubbery squid rings encased in soggy batter which fell off very easily. Buffalo wings was not tasty nor was it spicy, NOT finger licking good. Pizzas (1-4-1) was their one saving grace. Had the Bonito Pizza , which is a fusion dish made with Tonkatsu sauce, bonito flakes and ham, which has an overpowering umami taste that reminded me of cuttlefish 鱿鱼. Also had the Bismarck Pizza,  a traditional Italian pizza topped with tomato sauce, mozzarella, prosciutto, and sunny-side-up eggs.  Would I come back again? Sorry, No thank you and never again for ruining my birthday!!!More

I agreed to my friend’s suggestion to have lunch here because the 1-for-1 offer was enticing, even though the restaurant does not take reservations for lunch. It turns out the offer applied only to a very limited list of dishes. The quality of food was...seriously sub-par – the fried calamari came in the form of huge rubbery squid rings encased in batter which fell off very easily; the skin of the duck confit was not crispy at all and the meat was tough. Moreover, the whole restaurant was very noisy – like a rowdy market environment. All this made for a terrible lunch experience.More

We wanted a special place in which to eat our last meal in Singapore and since we were already in the Tjong Baru area, we plumped for this Italian-style bistro for a change, after sampling so many Southeast Asian cuisines during our stay. The ambience...is perfect, seating and lighting just right to give each group sufficient "personal space". We ordered Singapore Slings and the alcohol was poured with a generous hand. Our mains, aubergine & spinach lasagna and barbequed pork ribs were superbly cooked and ample in size. For dessert we could just manage a scoop each of the "in house" gelato, the best gelato I have tasted besides my own. Service was attentive and "with a smile". When paying we were asked to spin a disk. Between us we got a figure of 20 and were given a coupon for a 20% discount against our next visit. That was a really nice touch! I would happily give the coupon to anyone visiting Singapore in the course of this year...Chapter 55 is worth a visit!More

We ordered the iberico pork, pumpkin rigatoni, buffalo wings, apple pie with vanilla ice cream, lemon grass tea and a virgin mojito. The pork was well seasoned and tender. We felt that the pump rigatoni was of good flavor and al dente but it got...a little overwhelming after some time because there was really no other flavor. Buffalo wings were more like winglets. Good flavor. The apple pie was surprisingly good. We appreciated the fact that the ice cream was placed aside instead of being on top of the pie. Virgin mojito was also a surprise. Could have added a little more lime though. Overall, we look forward to a second visit.More
