This is a place that I always frequent when I was working near Harbour Front a few years back. Really love the food options around here (though it's not really that big), but the food in general are really affordable and good. Some of my top favorites: 1) Lor Mee Their lor mee is really good, super rich in taste and very generous with their ingredients. Very old school taste 2) Carrot Cake Their Carrot cake used to be super cheap ($1.50- $2.00) but they had increased their prices due to inflation. To be honest it's not extremely tasty, but the value of this carrot cake lies with the face that the boss is an elderly that has been here for the longest time and their carrot cake is more leaning towards the home style, so i really felt that I was eating home cooked food whenever I have their carrot cake- so this is a personal preference 3) Duck Porridge- Very rich with herbal taste, duck meat is tender and the sauce is super rich! Overall, this is somewhere that I will drop by whenever my budget is tight!

We wanted to have a more traditional experience and the market was fun. Lots of stalls and choice. Nothing of a more traditional “western” breakfast but if that’s what you want why go to a traditional food market. The standard of English isn’t great so if you ask a question and point (as I did), expect that food to be on your plate in a nano second ;o) Fun though

We were going to climb up to Mount Faber then walk out over the Ridges. We caught the bus to the Harbourfront Bus Interchange and breakfasted first at this place next door where all the locals were eating. A breakfast of kaya toast with 2 boiled eggs and tea or coffee cost the equivalent of £1.75 each and was brilliant value.

This is the most ridicules hawker and very rude. Judging from reviews here, I am pleased to know I am not alone. I ordered 1 plate $4, and lady in her late 50s asked me ; ' for 1 or 2 person? ' . Does it matters ? the price i had order is enough information for them to service up a dish. She gave me 1 pair of chopsticks as i said i'm 1 person, but i didnt say its sharing. They do not need to know as its common sense. Anyway when asked for another pair, she started scolding in a fierce manner all sorts of reasons as mentioned exactly like reviewers below. Not wanting to quarrel with reasons , I walked away with a smile. whats in their mind ? i am bluffled. its ok, their food review. PRE-COOKED noodles placed in a container, (God knew for how long), scooped up and fried it with some diuted liquid and harden prawns to whip up a dish that is strucked off from my list of edible food in Singapore. Chili does help to mask the watery bland noodles. For those bad experiences reviewers had , I totally agree as I have the same experience. Remember , what goes into your mouth entails a combination of factors, not just taste. Mood is important and in this case destroyed your taste buds. If anyone wants to have their day broken , visit this store. In a mood to scold someone? visit this store. Support locals ? don't visit this store , other humble hawkers deserved better. Try them and feel for yourself, once in a lifetime, never again in this lifetime. Cheers and stay positive .

This is a really good little hawker market, right next to the Vivo City shopping area. Not all the stalls were open when we visited but there was still an excellent range of choices. We went for roast duck with rice, it came with a tasty little bowl of soup and a fiery chilli sauce (optional). It was all delicious and the whole lot cost us 8 SGD for two, less than 5 pounds sterling.

I am seriously SURPRISED that this stall appeared here! And I am right. My assessment of their attitude is based on that they are just plain unreasonable and rude PERIOD. It was a rather quiet afternoon past lunch and not yet dinner time. I decided to order something else from another stall and after I got my food from somewhere else, I sat near the hokkien mee stall. Then I decided to order a plate of hokkien mee too. While already eating, I went to the stall and placed my order but saw that the guy was also busy preparing fried oyster omelet for other customers queuing there. I told the uncle that it is okay but I will come back in a while since I am just at their stall area so that I can continue to eat my food. Thereafter I saw more customers queuing up and after about 10 mins or so, I returned to asked if my order was ready, he was busy and he did not indicate that my order was ready or not hence I assumed he is still attending to other orders. I told him I will come back again. After about another 10 mins, I noticed he seems to be fulfilling other new customers’ orders while never looking to inform me if mine was ready or not. Hence I decided that since he was more focused on fulfilling other customers’ orders, I will just cancel mine. Which then I went back for the 3rd time and told him that since he is busy and fulfilling other people order rather than mine and not even attempting to wave me back to collect, I will just cancel my order. Then ALL HELL broke loose .. both the uncle and auntie were screaming at me saying that they already had mine ready and I did not want to queue up. I was like ... “I told you I will be back to collect right? I indicated early on that I was just a couple of tables away”. They continued to screamed at me and saying that even the elderly are queuing up but I am not .. I don’t see how that point connect. Then I said fine as I did not want to argue and create anymore commotion than necessary .. I will pay and be done with it. They then screamed at me and said they do not want to sell to me anymore and if I ever return, they will chase me away. I just turned and left. They are totally unreasonable and never even allowed me to speak and just kept shouting .. both the uncle and auntie. My anger is that I originally saw the uncle being busy with other people’s order and since I have to wait, I will just continue eating and return later to collect the food. In the end, thinking that I was being considerate as to let him complete the earlier order first but ended up being reprimanded in front of other customers. I SUGGEST THAT EVERYONE SHOULD AVOID THIS STALL ENTIRELY or thread lightly or be ready to be lambasted by the elderly couple that run the stall.

Good varieties of food, but only several stalls are good. My favourite stalls are the fried oysters, fish soup, loh mee, duck rice, avocado juice.

The price is probably one of the most acceptable places. Food quality is good. Beware that the seats can be dirty and never walk away and buy drinks and leave your food "unguarded". The birds will come and help themselves. If it's a hot day, the place can be warm and the ventilation can be bad.

Try to avoid this stall as the food is very oily and the stall holders are extremely rude. My stomach could not take it. Eat at your own peril!

Highly recommended to both locals and tourists. You get to enjoy a good range of local Singapore fare at reasonable prices. A word of caution on a particular Indian store operating at Seah Im Food Centre that charges ridiculous prices for their Indian Rojak (S$3 for each potato!!!!). It would be wise of you to ask what each of the item cost before you place your order.

We stopped by here before catching our ferry to Batam. This was a decent sized hawker food area that had quite a number of stalls serving all sorts of food and drink. Overall the place was nicely maintained and the tables cleared quite quickly after the diner left. Fans were running all over but luckily it was still cool this morning. Probably a different story in the afternoon. We bought coffee at the Hong Kee Coffee Stall and enjoyed a great cup of coffee for less than $1SGD. To go paper cups or ice added another 10 cents. I ordered Nasi Goreng at #Makanboleh with fried egg and potato round. They had the longest queue so I figured it had to be good. They were very friendly and helpful for me as a newbie so that was nice. A scoop of sambal sauce (sweet not spicy) added to the experience. The rice was spicy with lots of red peppers. The egg was good but the potato too greasy for me. It cost less than $4SGD and was very filling. The most expensive was our $8SGD plate of hami melon and papaya. The melon was very sweet but not the papaya. Since I will be taking the ferry a lot more in the future this will be a recurring visit.
