Food was good. But service level dropped quite a fair bit. When we wanted to order a drink, one of the service crew just told us off that she is not the one who take order and walk off (she did not even stop and offer to help us get another crew to take our order). We did not manage to order the drink we wanted even after the meal. When our food was served, the service doesn’t seems very happy with their customer. All of them serve with a straight face as if customers were all nuisance. If seems to me they are too comfortable and forgot about service. Very disappointed and doesn’t feel like a valued customer.

The initial experience was saved by the good food. I'd consider returning except for the very very buggy (not working) QR code menu system. For one, the printed QR codes were very small and not clear, so both my companion and I literally spent the first 10-15min just trying to scan the codes - on 2 different phone (iOS and Android), and had no success despite repeated tries. The most frustrating part was the waitstaff was completely unable to help with printed menus or an iPad or any other solution so we had to resort to continue trying at different angles. What's worse - there are TWO menus to scan: one for bentos and one for other food. PLEASE, for the sake of your business, do something about your menus/ordering system. Having your customers fail for 15min is unacceptable. The same thing happened to my siblings on a separate occasion, by the way.

My wife and I loved our dinner here! The thick swordfish sashimi slices were probably the best I’ve ever had, the salmon & avocado don was extremely fresh, and the Ikki Maki is highly recommended. The 1 for 1 lychee martini was a huge bonus! This is such a value for money experience, in a nice ambience with ample space for safe distancing during this period. The service was fast and friendly too (shout out to Caleb). Thank you so much Ikki Izakaya! We plan to be back again

Great Food, Great Service, Great Ambience. Short throw from Buona Vista MRT and away from the crowd at The Star Vista. Selection of Sake is on the thin side and price is on the higher side for the available brand and type.

I was hesitant to try this place till my friend told me ambience was good and price was reasonable.
I stepped in and was greeted by friendly staff.
There was variety of food and drinks to choose from. (alcoholic and non alcoholic)
Overall experience was very pleasant. Will certainly come back.
Lastly i will like to commend Miss Enrique, the bar counter guy who came out to serve my favourite beer to me and the rest of the other staff too.
Total price of food and 2x pints of black Asahi $113

Had one of the worst service experience in this place, would recommend all to avoid this eatery that has no respect for their customers.
Ordered a lunch set, and they served the wrong set, so had them re-check. Waited 30 mins during lunch period, and reminded them politely to check my order at least twice. After 30min, checked with them for the 3rd time and they came back and told me that my ordered was not made, and gave me 2 options: (1) they would kindly void my order i.e. cancel my order so that I can leave or (2) they would put my order back in queue which means waiting for another 30 min. They are not able to prioritize the order despite their mistake and had the cheek to ask if he can cancel my order so that we can leave... what a disgraceful and disappointing attitude. Please avoid eating here.

The lunch menu has lots of options but less than the dinner menu. We tried the gyoza, tempura, Boston and Ikki maki, kimchi ramen, bara sushi don and cold soba. The food is delicious. We came at 2pm for the eatigo deal so it was worth it. Service was quick after the lunch crowd was gone. They have a large team. They serve complimentary water. The ambience is nice. We will be back to try more of the other options on their menu. It’s very conveniently located beside the mrt station and bus stop. A truly hidden gem.

The food was great! We ordered 2 sets of sushi, sweet potato fries, sashimi (which was 1-1 on Sat) and ordered alcohol. And the bill was under $100. Quite value for money! I love it that the place wasn't too noisy, and I really like the not too bright ambience.

Loved their Japanese IPA - but the fact that they do not serve food till 1730 was not great to be honest. Post 1730 - the food was good. We all hogged a lot and the fact that it is so close to the office is a big plus. Definitely visiting this place again.

90% visit to Japanese dining usually will be greeted with a warm welcome no matter how busy the restaurant is. Sadly, we were not. No service crew was stationed at entrance to bring guests to table. Instead, we have to look around for empty table, if someone happens to have eye contact with you, then maybe you will be greeted with hand sign to indicate your number of pax. An izakaya dining place usually has a relax ambience and a team of cheerful service crew but I realised that the crew was mostly not smiling or has no amicable attitude.
We were given the menu - a pathetic piece of soiled and crumpled menu paper, it could have been recycled many times?
Ordered a $15 tempura set and an iced green tea but was disappointed at the quality, the prawns was small, miso soup was not hot. I have eaten better quality tempura rice bowl at an amazing $13.90 price.
Well, at least the ambience is there.

No frills, what u see is what you get ... with great value. Had the set, udon + chirashi, portions were of value-for-money size and very tasty, with a good complement of salad and appetisers. Above all, the service was fast, hence straight to the point.
