Tired from travel, chose one of their specials and we had food food, well presented, with fast service. Just over road from our Park Ave hotel: simple and satisfying.

Brought the family here for dinner on a Monday night. The kids obviously loved fried items and I found the tonkatsu here, though deep fried, but not greasy. They know their stuff here. Especially love the loin where there is a layer of fat. The...skin was crispy and the seafood version was fresh as well. Nice services provided. Good option for tonkatsu without going all the way to town for it!More

This is 1 of the WORST restaurant in Singapore I have encountered in term of service! 3rd May 2019 - It was a business lunch with my partner and just immediately we finished the last piece of meat, they quickly come to clear our table....I was still thinking they are so efficient. Then almost shortly they present us the bill and ask us to go off!!! We were so shock! I asked why they chasing us out, they casually says many people waiting outside, and we have to vacate our table for them, even after I pointed out there are 2-3 tables still not taken. The waitress just walk off. I felt so embarrassed in front of my business partner! When we went to pay, we saw another 2 tables empty and there was no Q at all! I asked again, why chase us when nobody is Queing, again, the male waiter casually said, there was a Q but they are gone now. OMG, this is the kind of service they have in Singapore. Even in Fast Food restaurant, they don't chase you out like that!! I hope the management will teach the staffs proper service! On the food, it was normal, the meat was very fatty & oily to our liking, not sure it was suppose to be this way, but those we had in Japan was not like that. The refillable tea was almost like plain ice water and they dont refill until you called out for them. Likewise for the cabbage. Again, lacking of service here! Will bring my $$ to eat elsewhere next time!More

Went there with friends and order Mentaiko Tonkatsu. My friends got Mixed Tonkatsu and fried mochi cheese cutlet . They served shredded cabbage where we can mix with either the BBQ sauce or sesame sauce. Cabbage is very fresh and crunchy. Tonkastu were served with...rice, miso soup and few shreds of dried vegetables. Overall, the tonkatsu is delicious. Ambience wise, the noise level is very high so you have to talk loudly over the table.More

It was the day after national day. We decided to have dinner out and went out to star vista to eat our dinner. We headed straight for this place. It was not very crowded. The wait staff showed us to our seats, presented us with...2 menus and very soon came back with a big bowl of fine shredded lettuce. This was free flow and there was both sesame and plum sauce dressing. I tried the eel rice bowl. It came with onsen egg and small bowl of soup. My wife had grilled fish sticks with a bowl of rice. She told me that both the lettuce and rice are free flow. Service was very friendly and prompt. Ice water/warm water is provided free. This is great as some places charge unreasonable rates for plain drinking water in Singapore. We thought the restaurant was very relaxing. It became quite crowded as more diners came in, but it for have that crowded feel. The noise and voice level is also well managed. Somehow the layout and the high ceiling helped. Tables are well spaced and there is good privacy and distances. The offrring of food is quite similar to Saboten, but the feel and mood is quite different as it's more relaxing atmosphere.More

Visited this place twice for business. It’s nice but I find it overpriced. If it wasn’t for a business meal, I won’t come here. Everything is fried here.

We had miso pork, which was delicious! I had a regular pork katsu, it's a little dry as there is no sauce but the meat is tender and juicy with a crunchy outside.

I had lunch in their newly opened branch located at the new Tanjong Pagar Center, next to many other restos. I recommend the hire katsu set meal. It comes with a fairly good sized breaded pork cutlet. Meat cut is leaner, less fat so it...is healthier, but more expensive than the regular rosu katsu. The meal also includes miso soup, shredded cabbage and other condiments like mustard and sweet katsu sauce with sesame seeds. I've had better cuts of meat, but this is not bad.More

Went for dinner , restaurant still under staff, only two staffs around, restaurant almost full, it's the same situations from our first visit. Waiting to be seated takes quite a while. After taken our orders, the staff went off , very busy. We were not...serve our food, while another table next to ours were quickly served. Question the service staffs, no reply. Foods is reasonable and on the high side, but service up to today very unsatisfactory. Will not return.More

Their mentai pork katsu is to-die-for! The pork is soft and juicy on the inside, and perfectly crunchy on the outside. The mentaiko sauce also adds a nice flavor as well. Their rice is also nice and soft. I love Imakatsu so much and actually...go there every week!More

I usually have the miso soup, edamame and the cabbage salad (free top-ups) with sesame dressing. Absolutely delicious and an ideal light option for dinner. My friends swear by the katsu and chicken breasts. The prices are relatively affordable.

My Personal Recommendation for this restaurant is the Premium Mentaiko Pork Loin Katsu and also the Fried Oyster Katsu. The Mentaiko Pork Loin have a complex taste and open up when you just have a light bite on the pork Loin. Its is just slightly...more chewy than the Kurobuta Pork Katsu but worth the price for this 180g Pork katsu Loin (for the ladies can go for the smaller 120g one. The Mentaiko goes very well with the Rice and best with Chill Beer served with it. As for the Fried Oyster it is Juicy and fresh and recommend to add a small plate of the mentaiko to go with it.More
