We came here for old time’s sake - used to go a lot for brunch as a family. PS Cafe has always been cutting corners (bottled orange juice when it says “fresh” - they actually told us that themselves). On this occasion we had Fish...& Chips and “mezze”. Husband seemed happy enough with his fish and chips. I find the chips anemic, didn’t try the fish. My mezze dish was a joke. It’s supposed to be a starter or to share. You get about 6 olives and maybe two full table spoons of hummus in one small dish, taramasalata in the other - tiny, tiny portions. It does come with a bread basket which has a disproportionately large amount of bread stuff in it, compared to the size of the dips. The bread is also of utterly forgettable quality. There was some edible regular white bread, stale crisp bread, and my pet peeve - “baguette chips”, repurposed old baguette dried into thin slivers. The toilettes need to be cleaned more regularly. Overall, they are doing the bare minimum with the place to keep people coming. The service, however, was excellent on this occasion. One of the waiters kept asking whether we were happy with the food. I did not have the heart to say anything as I doubt he can do much about it.More
